Hey I was looking into this game and I was wondering, do the more stripped down mechanics lend the game to a few fun rounds with friends and then shelving the box, or do you feel like there's enough there that it is something you'll come back to with recurring players and not just new people? And do you think the two new factions you could purchase would potentially add to this replayability (as a lot of it seems to come from faction cards??)??
Hi Matt, thanks for stopping by! I think there's a good bit of replay value from trying out the different factions, various pilots, and different strategies you can employ. You can also customize the maps, and perhaps use the terrain features from Urban Wasteland expansion for even more variety (you could print your own if you didn't want to buy the expansion). I'm struggling to justify another $100 on two more factions though, but yes, they would add to replayability. I guess it comes to how many times you'd want to play it with the same players to get your money's worth. Ten times? Easily. Fifty? Might get boring ;)
I am jumping back into GKR:HH. Have you played it recently? Did you ever play Solo again? I wonder (will research after this) if there has been a community Ai module developed that makes solo more to your liking. Great video content and editing. Subbed
Thanks for the kind words! Funnily enough, it's set up on my gaming table right now. My son is finally old enough to get it and respect the components, so it's been our family game for the last few weeks. I haven't tried solo again :(
