The 80's will always be my happy place. Man it really was a gift to grow up during that amazing decade!! Sadly it's all just memories now.😭 I would love to be a kid all over again.
It's about a group of teenagers doing a graduation party, on a ship that leaves Crystal Lake to New York. And Jason is also on board, killing everyone. And when the ship arrives in New York, Jason knows the big city and leaves killing people there as well.
+joshua prouty Whenever I read something about this movie, the criticisms are negative. In IMDB itself the note of the film is one of the lowest in the franchise. But anyway I'm a fan of this movie, to me it's one of Jason's best.
Really great tune that helps wind down the '80s & reflect on the Friday the 13th movies that started at the beginning of the decade. You can't help but recall some of the heroes & victims of the films that you loved(or hated) & rooted for.Fitting music to close out on!
I love the song darkest side of night and the movie Friday the 13th part 8 Jason takes Manhattan. I was born in Manhattan as a child and it's a shame that my family moved out of the city. I would have loved to be in the city when they made this movie. This song and movie is the greatest and I love it.
huge fan of 80s horror. I went so far as a kid to hook up my vcr to my mammoth zenith receiver to dub tunes from movies just like this. love seeing these fans here if some of the best, most forgotten tuneage.
Alot of fans have hate for this movie, but for me I love it, especially for this song, pure 80s nostellga for a horror movie. Part 8 is my fav out of all of them
@Envoy it's weird because once they get to New York it feels like the entire film took place in the city. Also I kind of forget about the characters who didn't make it until the end credits
You know it's crazy...a lot of ppl bash this movie but it was good to me. Mabey more campy than the previous ones but it has its charm! This song captures the warm summer nights watching horror flicks. Jason truly is amazing and every film had a great soundtrack to it.
Devinthedude it didn't really have problems but ppl disliked how it stemmed away from the previous ones. Instead of camp crystal lake it took place in New York. It's really personal preference but this movie was great in its own right. Also other problems like the movie feeling rushed/etc. take my word it's a good movie 😃
i fell in love with this song from the very moment i listened to it. i love that sound from the end of the 80s. those were incredible days, but it's in the past.
Every time I listen to the song, I go right back to the 1990s, the good old days. This song also reminds me and is associated with 1980's New York pizza, if we're all on the same page.
Here are the films: Friday the 13th Part I (1980) Friday the 13th Part II (1981) Friday the 13th Part III (1982) Friday the 13th Part IV: The Final Chapter (1984) Friday the 13th Part V: A New Beginning (1985) Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986) Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988) Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989) Friday the 13th Part IX: Jason Goes to Hell (1993) Friday the 13th Part X: Jason X (2001) Freddy vs. Jason (aka FT13th Part XII) (2003) Friday the 13th (fans consider Part XII) (2009)
Here's the Canon time line Friday the 13th (1980) Friday the 13th part II (1981) Friday the 13th part III (1982) Friday the 13th part IV (1984) Friday the 13th part V (1985) Friday the 13th part VI (1986) Friday the 13th part VII (1988) Friday the 13th part VIII (1989)
So Nostalgic! I remember going to school (Elementary) and being so scared to go to the bathroom, thinking about the head that Jason punched off being in there somewhere. LOL
Thanks for uploading I don't know why this song is so catchy, I guess it's the eighties sound to it. Lots of memories. And also being a devoted fan of the Friday the 13th series..thanks again
I wasn't crazy about "Friday the 13th Part 8-Jason Takes Manhattan" due to the fact the story did not take place at the Camp Crystal Lake setting, but this song that was played at the end of the film was my favorite out of all the rest.
I was only 19 year's old in 1980. Even though I was born in 1961 I grew up with the music from the 60, 70, and 80's I love all of the music that I grew up with. Now that we're in 2020 I still love listening to all my favorite songs of yester year's.
That's crazy that the sewers in NYC flood out with toxic waste every night at midnight. But tbh I wouldn't be surprised at anything that happens in NYC.
You just earned another Subscriber this is the best main them for the movie I put it as my number one hit list if I want to listen to something good 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
must've been about 12 when this movie came out. It's weird I didn't like 80's much when I was a kid (other than Metallica and horror movies), … but now as an adult I hear stuff like this that reminds me of being a kid and I sort of miss it. It was simpler times, better times. For all the good the internet and social media and smart phones have done. They've done a lot of bad too. People all seem so lonely now,..no one seemed all that lonely when I was younger. Everyone was always running around doing stuff together. Now everyone just stares at their phones, even when they're hanging out with friends they have to constantly be on the phone. This song really reminds me of being a kid and sneaking into the theater to see a "Crazy Horror Movie with that Hockey-Mask Guy!"
there is nothing and i mean NOTHING like 80's horror, the best.
Daniel Panter I know right
Agreed x100

Jason Takes Manhattan is considered by many as the worst movie of the franchise, but I think a great movie. And this song is great too!
It's about a group of teenagers doing a graduation party, on a ship that leaves Crystal Lake to New York. And Jason is also on board, killing everyone. And when the ship arrives in New York, Jason knows the big city and leaves killing people there as well.
Nelson Neris I guess they didn't watch Jason goes to hell then
Nelson Neris Yeah, it was a lot better than Jason Goes to Hell and Jason X
Nelson Neris wtf??? I thought Jason takes Manhattan was considered one of the best of the franchise.
+joshua prouty Whenever I read something about this movie, the criticisms are negative. In IMDB itself the note of the film is one of the lowest in the franchise. But anyway I'm a fan of this movie, to me it's one of Jason's best.
This great song makes up for what a bummer part 8 was, the summer of 89 was the most memorable summer of my lifetime
We need pics of you in '89!
Love this song.
yep me to. I just hope they make more Jason movies
super camera bros Me too. 👌🏾
Something about it wakes up a different part of the soul that's beautiful I wasn't alive at the time but makes me feel like I was
Thanks for posting this! Always remember seeing it in the theatre in 1989 and loving the opening song.

This is such an amazing song, and it fit right in for Friday the 13th part 8
i know what you feel. my heart's broken when i realize nowadays we ain't got nothin' approaching to those old good days.

I love this song. Metropolis - The Darkest Side of the Night
Next is Tuesday Knight’s Nightmare from Nightmare on Elm Street Part 4.
