Shrine of Amana isn't as bad as it is. Its a proof point of the challenge instead of the enemies or boss, of the environment itself in position and trait. It becomes a puzzle in an out of itself, i noticed something that i think might make me one or if not the only one to wonder this but is to see this game in particular, more as a silver knight for a heroic quest, but like an intrepid, and curious thinker adventurer. If possible to further prove my point, as well as to provide an esse of stress for anyone, would gladly share my advices to this area, cause it's really not as bad as people think. ladle is the worst because of shit durablility if I recall. and durability in Ds2 was like a *real* issue unlike the other games. repair power was fucking hard to come by

There’s no “minus multiplier” on the broken sword. Its to do with the fact that DS1 has a very aggressive defense formula for all low damage weapons, because there is no percent component.
This is the only souls game I haven’t beaten with a broken sword, my heart has just feared the insurmountable challenge of ds2, until now, thanks Lenny for giving me the courage to take on this challenge

They gave every weapon in the game a purpose as far as I remember. Even the ladle gives you ADP, which makes it really good in your offhand for SL1. It was a pretty cool design philosophy IMO.

Dark Souls 2 has its problems, but it’s still such a fun game. If From had fixed the wonky hitboxes and some of the enemy pathing on the Scholar of the First Sin edition, it would’ve been one of their best games, in my opinion.
Maybe overhaul the clunky combat and movement completely as well. Maybe rework the level design a tiny bit (completely). Maybe also maybe a little bit surely just a little bit get a 10th of the atmosphere the other games have. Oh and maybe just maybe, design enemies that fit in the Dark Souls universe instead of some western high fantasy game. The DLCs gave it a good try at least.
DS2 doesn't even have bad "hitboxes." I'd argue they're better in DS2 than in Elden Ring tbh. The amount of getting hit by attacks that missed you in Elden Ring is outrageous. Most of what can be attributed to "bad hitboxes" in DS2 is usually because of the shitty ADP stat. The hitzones for the enemies are fine; it's your dodge that's the issue in DS2.
Remember doing my first trilogy broken sword run and got stuck at iron keep for over 2 hours because of how bad the ganks were. Amazing vid as always lenny
the more manly way to do this is start deprived and power stance broken swords. you start with the exact stats needed to power stance them and it uses more stamina but you get like an extra 3 or 4 damage

Silly runs like this makes me miss DS2. The fact that you can do pretty damn well with, well, basically everything in the game hasn't really been replicated properly since. DS3 and ER have so many spells and weapons that are straight up garbage and feel like said garbage to use. I just wish future games had taken all the focus on PVP balance the final iteration of 2 strived for so that we didn't have the absolute garbage PVP ER (and to a lesser extent DS3 and Bloodborne) have.
I would love to see a speedrun video series depecting a new "Lenny%" category with all manner of "hyper critical RNG manipulation" required for submission. Create a category for each From game.

Yeah DS2 had a lot of armor benefits that allowed you to run strange builds. For example, the Work Hook weapon add dex but reduce adp.
