I was on a Treasure Seekers shell tour in May with Sarah as our shell expert. It was a glorious time with lots of lovely treasures. She found many little lovelies which she shared amongst the tour group. I look forward to the day when I can go back to SW FL from PA & join another great shell tour.

After hurricane Francis & Jean hit the East coast of Florida (2 weeks apart) we went to the beach. I carried about 40lbs of shells a mile or two back to the truck with a mesh bag I brought. Scored about 12 volleyball sized conch shells, a handful of baseball sized ones + many smaller shells. I gave some away but still have 2 really nice ones and about 4 decent ones. I've lived here since 1985 and it was a shell fest of a lifetime!

Prayers from Alaska! Question…how can a person like me know the difference between a banded tulip and a true tulip? I’ve never shelled anywhere other than in Alaska.
Good question! A good indicator is the True Tulip has a texture to it whereas the Banded Tulips are smooth. Also, there is a color difference; Banded Tulip are mottled with defined and obvious stripes whereas the True Tulip is usually vibrantly one color. True Tulips can also grow much much larger than Banded Tulips.

@@57msdeb I thought it was going to be more than shoving people off the boat. A tour suggests to me that information about the location, how somebody who is going to visit would find your tour interesting. What sets your tour apart from your competition? The shells are beautiful but with a beach house I didn’t see any I need to add to my collection. @Treasure Seekers Tours sorry I didn’t see your request for constructive criticism. It was not what I expected and my expectations may have been unrealistic.
For whatever reasons, it really bothers me to see everybody walking on those shells! Then, kicking them all around made me feel very sad! Just seems wrong. Don't ask me why, it just does.
Thanks! We are monitoring the progress of the water quality closely. Thankfully the ecosystem here is extremely healthy and the water is looking much better than it did right after the storm. The filter feeders and plants are hard at work! ☺️
David, thank you for your feedback and concern for our community. We considered the timing of the video with care and decided to post it in light of the hurricane impacts. Shelling provides a great many people in Florida and worldwide mental therapy and relaxation and in this time of stress for our local community, we hope it brings a few minutes of simple peaceful shelling joy. Several of our guests since the storm have commented that they are so grateful for the opportunity to be out on the islands just to give themselves a few hours distraction from the situation brought on by the storm. We hope our virtual shelling is received this way as well and can be a blessing to our fellow shellers who may be going through so much right now. Stay safe and be well.

P.s. I loved your nail color as a backdrop against the shells you found! Sooo pretty! I am totally getting that color nails next year when summer begins on hand nails and toes! ( : Great video! I just subscribed! ( :
It’s already looking much better! One week at a time. This ecosystem is one of the healthiest in Florida. It’s amazing to see how fast it’s turning around.
Yeah that's important
How do I get to this place? It’s a shellers dream

Wow

Never seen so many in one spot
Right?! Best shelling ever!
Vero Beach 🏖️⛱️ FLORIDA
We’re actually in the Ten Thousand Islands, Florida
I live on the west end of the U.S. and we barely find an intact sand dollar. And you are walking on piles of shells. Wow
You should come visit!! The shelling is AMAZING here!!
Oh I would love to. It would be a blast
Thanks for the videos!
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
My ex still complains about moving boxes of shells to the mountains. I lived in USVI's for several years and worked with the cruise lines my collection is never enough...never finished wanna move back to the ocean!!! Quit rubbing it in!
Amazing
Why so many shells there and none along the panhandle? I am 72 and when I was a kid there were plenty.
Pollution from BP and the Mississippi???
Hard to say. We’re on barrier islands here so very different from mainland shelling
The best time to get great shells is after a hurricane
Exactly!
What is the best way to display your shells?
Most of our gusts use glass jars, vases or make artwork with their shells like mirrors and frames. Complete shells make nice decor for coffee tables or to display on shadow boxes.
Junonia…JUNONIA!? 😁
Not that day unfortunately but serval have been found since the storm!
If you're reading this Jesus want to have a relationship with you. He loves you so much.
👍
Is this Kice
This is actually several islands in the Ten Thousand Islands, Florida
Pretty 😍 need a metal detector.. old money, jewelry washing up.
I’m sure!! We’ve been finding ALL kinds of weird stuff out there.
@@treasureseekerstours your so lucky. I have sea shells 🐚 from every sea, ocean, around the world. Love them so much🥰😍. Have fun. I would have my metal detector out. Never know, Mega shark teeth. Spanish silver and gold. I would go nuts looking.
🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for your support
👍🎣⛵🌊💯
👍
This was a lesson in frustration.
Sorry to hear that…could you share some constructive feedback to help improve the video?
@@treasureseekerstours probably because she saw so many that she wanted to pick up and the screen wouldn’t let her! Beautiful video!
☺️
@@57msdeb I thought it was going to be more than shoving people off the boat. A tour suggests to me that information about the location, how somebody who is going to visit would find your tour interesting. What sets your tour apart from your competition? The shells are beautiful but with a beach house I didn’t see any I need to add to my collection. @Treasure Seekers Tours sorry I didn’t see your request for constructive criticism. It was not what I expected and my expectations may have been unrealistic.
@@treasureseekerstours I addressed my comments below. Happy Shelling.
I am from India I want sea tortoise shell please help me broken peace also ok
For whatever reasons, it really bothers me to see everybody walking on those shells! Then, kicking them all around made me feel very sad! Just seems wrong. Don't ask me why, it just does.
I know! It hurts to see but when there’s no where else to step, what can you do?? 😉
Be careful of flesh eating bacteria
Thanks! We are monitoring the progress of the water quality closely. Thankfully the ecosystem here is extremely healthy and the water is looking much better than it did right after the storm. The filter feeders and plants are hard at work! ☺️
Interesting to see what Ian dredged it. But, it would have been more tasteful to post this a year from now-not now😞
David, thank you for your feedback and concern for our community.
Lazy sheller.
