I remember the first time I met Pauline, thinking how well spoken and sophisticated she seemed to the rest us, in Coventry. She was also so polite and thoughtful. And struck me as extremely intelligent. I have never heard a bad word spoken about her, in all these years. Genuinely nice person. They're very rare!
Loved growing up through these years in the early early 1980s Britain ......I proudly wore my checker “slim Jim” tie as a 10 yr old to junior school.......
So intelligent and eloquent and STILL gorgeous. I met her back in the day when I was a teenager (fan at gig stage door autograph) and she was absolutely lovely.❤
I love dingy clubs. I play drums at an open mic night at this Dive in Salt Lake, have played gigs there too with my band. It got shut down, too bad. Dives are the best!
I always like ms. Vicars voice saw the selected once in sheff. The best time for me personally is when I lived in London and on Denmark Street is the HMV and she had just released Pirates on the Airwaves and when I was in there spotted the 12inch single so I purchased one and as I walked out, I hadn't gone in for that but just because I had money in my pocket, which was rare being a student at the time, as I came out of the shop who was walking my way. But Pauline so I said to her hello I've just got one of your records and she said ho! Which one I took it out and she signed the sleeve.
🤦🏻♀️ Such an interesting person, and a treasure trove of information and this is the best these hosts can do in the way of questions?? Give her something to work with! What a missed opportunity. This lively and clever woman had a lot to offer. Love you so much, Pauline!! 🖤🇨🇦🖤 Pick it up, gurl!
Good old BBC! The Specials hardly mentioned & The Beat airbrushed out completely. Coventry produced 3 great Ska Bands & The Selecter ranked third by a country mile!
After all these years, i still love that song. And Pauline is still as beautyfull as ever!
Beautiful soul too. Met her a couple of times, and she's a genuinely awesome person, who cares a lot about her fans and the world she moves in.
Got to tour with the Selecter in Germany back in 97 and Pauline is a very charming person!

She is gorgeous isn't she? I was fortunate enough to meet her last night after their gig with the beat at Southend.

You what? Pauline Black is a hypocrite in the First Degree! Why doesn't she go back home and enhance her Country of origin?
Aye and racist to boot!

I had a crush on Ms Black when I was 16 in 1980. Watching this, I still do. Now, in 2022, I wonder when she will finally marry me

The Specials and The Beat were not better than The Selecter.
@@bendover3979 Personal preference. Nothing more. Sad to hear that Terry Hall died.

How dare she play my home town of Caerphilly last year! Pauline, you have helped the dilution of my language and culture!
1:45 ...Punks, Mods, and "SOUL BOYS"? (Wtf is a "soul boy"?) I guess Skinheads don't count... How could she leave us out? ☹️
Birmingham ska country
Speaks like a politician. Too fake for my liking.
