Here's my vs. on the two. - I like how quick the Lee polarizer and adapter rings because they're faster. For me, that's their best feature - especially the new one. - Build quality feels better on NiSi - I like that there's no light leak on the NiSi and I love how small, thin and light the polarizer is. - I like that there's 3 filter slots naturally + the polarizer - Glass is neutral. I think even more Neutral than the Lee (which is a bit blue) - I think the NiSi is more expensive. - NiSi has a couple products in the shoots that I'm excited for. I feel like they're innovating, while Lee is kind of content.
I love watching your thoughtful and intentional approach to composing shots. It's easy to see how shooting landscapes with filters encourages that intentionality.
Hey, I use the nisi ND64+CPL circular filter . It works really well. It doesnt affect the sharpness. It does leave a slight magenta tint but it can be easily corrected in post. I'd love to try out the Square filter system too.
I appreciate not only the filter vs. no filter comparison but also seeing the final result after editing. I’d be interested in seeing one of these photos from the taking with/without filters stage and then a brief walk through of your editing process on it. I don’t do much editing with my photos yet and seeing this video encourages me to learn more about editing. Thanks for all your great videos!
I've loved this Nisi system nearly two years now. I got a second adapter ring. Use one with CP in; other with no CP. Easier to switch those than to extract CP from the front. But if light isn't an issue, I'm honestly not sure I need to remove the CP... just rotate till it's not polarising.
I never knew there was other styles of filters until I started watching your videos, I’ve learned a lot more about landscape photography now and it just makes me want to go out and take more pictures
I'm glad to see you're out chasing waterfalls again as those waterfall photos were quite breathtaking! I really like the output that the NiSi filters add to the waterfall photos.
I agree being able to change the angle of grad filters is very important feature missing from the filter systems. I have been waiting for that before purchasing
Photographers heaven in Bali, so easy to get the incredible images, never won anything in my life, would love this nisi system as I already have the previous but not so many filters.
Nice to see the honesty and coming forward with you trying for the ambassador program. I understand it wasn't truly a sponsored video but you always are honest when you talk about these things. Good to see on UA-cam.
As a fellow NISI user I would say it took me a month to get used to using the V5 system with the "internal" polarizer... What I found was that the NISI polarizer is so much better that if I leave it on and turn it so that there is no polarization it just works perfectly. So in my perfect world each of my lenses would all have a dedicated polarizer mounted at all times and then use the square holder across my entirety of lenses. Thanks Brendan for another great vid.
I can definitely see the advantage of the Nisi polariser like that. I'd be interested to know how they compare with Lee filters for colour accuracy. Trying to work out which system to buy into and still get great colours.
Thanks for this video, Brendan. the system I'm working with now is the breakthrough brand, and although I don't hate it, I was going to start trying out a new system just to see if I'm missing out on anything...
I’ve really enjoyed all your videos talking about using filters. It’s something I really knew nothing about, but I’m looking forward to experimenting with them.
I think that they are really good performance-wise, my only concern is about the potential degree of resistance after they fall since they are made of glass
Hi Brendan. Thanks for the very simple and clear reasons for using a filter system. Great sample shots to illustrate your explanations. Thanks again. Simon
Cool! I have NiSi v5 Pro and am quite satisfied. I like the color neutrailty and optical quality of the filters. A drawback I heard about is that the kind of glossy filter holder reflects a lot of stray light back into the filters, which leads to noticeable flaring when shooting against a bright light source in the frame. Not having experienced this ruining any of my shots so far, I'm still happy to see that they reduced the filter holder area (they could have made the material less glossy, too, though...).
First, I've got to mention that I'm truly impressed with your over all photography. The excitement that you create is unbelievable and is something I'm learning every day using my camera, making my photo's come alive and pop with excitement. The NiSi V6 Landscape Filter System, just seems to add the bonus touch to the look which makes the kind of photography you can expect from a really good filtering system. I'm very impressed with the end results after watching your presentation, the before and after look just compliments the waterfall pictures. I've never thought about using multi filters before but after seeing you're demo you've won me over. Thank you, Joe Laura Ocala, FL
Good timing on the filter story. My only filter is a round Nisi polarizer, but I've been looking into taking the next step and comparing the complete filter systems vs the individual round filters. Always enjoy your honesty and openness.
I’m intrigued. I just tend to get frustrated anytime I have to unscrew a polarizer off as it tends to always get stuck or loosen the ring. However, the polarizer sitting in the back makes more sense.
I agree that its an extra step but I really like the way the polarizer is set up. I have an different brand that has the same setup as NiSi and love it I just discovered that their new K8 version has a magnetic polarizer that makes removing/adding it a breeze.
The NiSi system seems to be well thought out. I find that the Lee system lacks the locking screw and the polarizer is a bit of a pain to rotate. Thanks for the demo.
Thanks for this video. I haven’t made the leap to buying a filter system yet. I knew it made a big difference but it was great to see the side by side comparison.
Great overview of the Nisi V6, Looks like it's solid build and well thought through. The BIG advantage of the Polariser being mounted onto the base mount is that it doesn't rotate if the filter system (grads) is rotated and will therefore not change the polarising effect. Also, it would be easier to adjust than if it were at the front of all the other nd/grad filters.
I love the idea of filter systems. I have a couple wide angle zoom lens and have to buy separate filters for each which can get expensive. What are you recommendations for when and when not to use a polarizing filter for waterfalls? I only ever used a ND and maybe it was luck, but I am happy with the results.
These look awesome, i'd also guess the polariser on the back with the wheel system makes it a little easier to adjust if you move your angle, without accidently putting fingerprints/smudges over the other filters like I normally do :/
As you would say Brendan, I’m stoked as a NiSi Ambassador to have you on the team! Like you say. A very supportive brand with superb innovations. Welcome onboard 😊👍 take it easy now.
Interested in seeing if you stick with the lens cap that comes with the filters. I saw the tag on its side, and wondered how easy it catches inside camera compartments and automatically come off. All in all, I don’t yet have a filters system and this setup is appealing.
Great video. Loved your examples demonstrating how the exposure changed when using the filters and when not. I only own a couple of cheap filters so winning this kit would be awesome.
Thanks for another awesome and informative video. I’ve always understood the basics of how these drop-in filters work but nice to actually see how they work over the screw-on type I’m used to
Would love to get myself a start into the filter system. I usually go for multiple exposures as you don't need anything else to mount on the lens. But lately i think the filters just makes me exploring into a new adventure.
I'd be curious to see how Nisi compares in the field against my Lee Filters. The polarizer on the Nisi is intriguing as I do get vignetting on my 18-35mm at 18mm.
Great video explaining the value of filters! What do you say to people who say to use circular NDs, skip the grads, and just do exposure blending in post?
I have the M75 which is the exact same system but made for APS-C and M43 cameras. It's so great to have a small system that is good quality and cheap compared to 100mm systems.
Great review. Wanted to get them do badly. I used Gobe and B+W system. Not satisfied. But I have a sigma 14-24 mm 2.8 for my landscape and does this system works properly, eagerly waiting to hear your opinion. 😃😃
I stumbled on the Kase filter system recently and it works a lot like the NiSi system you show, but the polarizer is held in by magnets vs threaded making it quick to change. It also has a geared rotator for the polarizer and light block for the Long Exposures. Pretty happy so far. Lots of choices with quality filter holders lately.
I bought the V5 system and enjoyed it; my only complaint is you can't replace the polarizer filter if damaged. I had an incident with my camera recently where it fell in the water. Lens and body were destroyed and the polarizer fell off. When I went to try and replace the polarizer I had difficult time trying to get a response from Nisi and when I did get a response from one of their distributors found out the polarizer is not replaceable and I have to by a new system.
Excellent video again Brendan. I am a complete novice to photography but I'm really enjoying it. I've not used filters before, but now I'm interested to try them out. All the best.
Great timing! I just bought a Canon 5dsr about 2 weeks ago. Next I want to get a filter system. Would you recommend the NISI over Lee? Also, what is the difference between the v6 versus the v5 system?
I'm on the hunt for a filtersystem. Following your channel for about two years now I learned a lot. Nisi looks cool and I'm excited about your comment for this upcomming new filtersystem.
HI Brendan. I appreciate you giving the system away. I really like the NISI system and have one reverse grad. This kit would be a great addition to my camera equipment. Very enjoyable video.
Great information, how do you like them compared to Lee filters?
Here's my vs. on the two.
- I like how quick the Lee polarizer and adapter rings because they're faster. For me, that's their best feature - especially the new one.
- Build quality feels better on NiSi

I have been using the V5 system and love it. Wouldn't mind upgrading.
Brendan van Son I cringed when you said expensive. 🐼🤦🏻♂️
I use the NISI V5 Pro, I actually got lucky when I bought them because u got 2 free filters, but not something you want to have to buy regularly.
great video Brendan, looks really solid and proffesional filter system, even i am not a pro i would like to win them ;)
I love how you explain gear. Even more- I love your pictures.
That filter system looks great! No vignetting, no color issue, even with three of them stacked. Thank you Brendan.
I love watching your thoughtful and intentional approach to composing shots. It's easy to see how shooting landscapes with filters encourages that intentionality.
Nice!! The Waterfall images are sick dude 🤙 #bangers
Greg Snell some really good B-Roll from you gregg, really helps make the episode.. keep up the good work m8 👏👍
It's funny when I can see a person in the distance with mustard colored shorts and know it's you Greg. 🐼🤣

Seems like a good system. Wondering about the optical quality.
LOL Cool J it's great. High recommend.

Thanks for continuing to teach us novice photographers about various techniques to get the photo right in the camera
I never knew there was other styles of filters until I started watching your videos, I’ve learned a lot more about landscape photography now and it just makes me want to go out and take more pictures
Looks like a cool system. I especially like the way the circular polarizer is adjusted.
Thank you for answering whether 3rd party 100mm filter will work on the Nisi kit. Would love to pickup one before my trip.
Love the way the polariser fits in on this system.
I'm glad to see you're out chasing waterfalls again as those waterfall photos were quite breathtaking! I really like the output that the NiSi filters add to the waterfall photos.
Filters are a landscape photographers best friend, when you know how to use them. and you show us you can. great photos.
As a NISI user for the past 3 years, I think you will enjoy the system. I have the V5 system and have been quite pleased.
I agree being able to change the angle of grad filters is very important feature missing from the filter systems. I have been waiting for that before purchasing
Just getting in to landscape photography. Like the way you explain what you do and why. Definitely need one of these kits to add to my gear.
thank you for explaining that in great detail, I have thought about purchasing but needed to understand better how they are put on the camera.
Looks like a fantastic system especially with the polariser
Just purchased the NISI filter system (3 ND and 2 Grads, filters plus of course the CPF and holder). So far I love it.
Thanks Brendan. Interested to check out the NiSi system.
Photographers heaven in Bali, so easy to get the incredible images, never won anything in my life, would love this nisi system as I already have the previous but not so many filters.
I’d love to get my hands on the Nisi filter system
Hi Brendan, you never disappoint, I admire your honesty/integrity and as usual a great demo. Thank You!
Thanks for explaining how these work and the effects that they give to the image...I need to add filters to my kit!
Nice to see the honesty and coming forward with you trying for the ambassador program. I understand it wasn't truly a sponsored video but you always are honest when you talk about these things. Good to see on UA-cam.

Thanks Brendan. Nice overview of the Nisi system. I like the way the polarizer works even after the other filters are on.
That filter system is actually pretty freaking cool
This is their upgraded holder system from the previous V5 model. Just experience it hands on last couple of days and yeah! Works like a charm!
I like the 'with and without' shots - very helpful. The filters look to be a really high quality system!
Good to see how the Nisi Filter System works and the unique plan Nisi has so one can mount the GNDs at different angles.
I use the Nisi system for probably 4 years, I really like how the polorizer works, and how it attaches
I’ve really enjoyed all your videos talking about using filters. It’s something I really knew nothing about, but I’m looking forward to experimenting with them.
Digging the filter system and good tip on buying extra adapter rings
I love how the filters help bring these pictures to life.
I think that they are really good performance-wise, my only concern is about the potential degree of resistance after they fall since they are made of glass
Hi Brendan. Thanks for the very simple and clear reasons for using a filter system. Great sample shots to illustrate your explanations. Thanks again.

Nice waterfall work. I liked how you were using the R's LCD screen flipped out and the fearless camera inches from the waterline.

NiSi looks really good and I look forward to hearing more about it
I have one NiSi filter for my 7-14mm wide angle lens. I love it . Thanks for explaining the use the multiple filters at once!
Good timing on the filter story. My only filter is a round Nisi polarizer, but I've been looking into taking the next step and comparing the complete filter systems vs the individual round filters. Always enjoy your honesty and openness.
Thanks to offer one system to the viewers! It was interesting to see how to stack them with this mount.
Love it. Great choice. All systems have their quirks. I like the fact that no light gets past the polarizer.
I’m intrigued. I just tend to get frustrated anytime I have to unscrew a polarizer off as it tends to always get stuck or loosen the ring. However, the polarizer sitting in the back makes more sense.
I love that NISI listened to user feedback on the V5 and incorporated it into the V6. Sign of a great user oriented company.
I agree that its an extra step but I really like the way the polarizer is set up. I have an different brand that has the same setup as NiSi and love it I just discovered that their new K8 version has a magnetic polarizer that makes removing/adding it a breeze.
Just what I need as I embark on a change of genre from portraits to landscapes
Thanks for showcasing how best to light work for us. I love the demo showing stacking and the effects.
The NiSi system seems to be well thought out. I find that the Lee system lacks the locking screw and the polarizer is a bit of a pain to rotate. Thanks for the demo.
Am just learning to work with filters and was weird out with vignetting, sure I was screwing up. Thanks for this awesome instruction.
Thanks for this video. I haven’t made the leap to buying a filter system yet. I knew it made a big difference but it was great to see the side by side comparison.
Hi I did not know how to attach filters on various lenses. Now I uderstand how that works. Thank you so much!
My pleasure

Just back from a trip to Singapore and photographing waterfalls today!
Also great and simple explanation of the power of filters
Awesome breakdown of how filters work. I really need to get a filter system for my landscape photos !!
As you would say Brendan, I’m stoked as a NiSi Ambassador to have you on the team! Like you say. A very supportive brand with superb innovations. Welcome onboard 😊👍 take it easy now.

Great video breaking down how to NiSi filters work. Would love these!
Great video. Loved your examples demonstrating how the exposure changed when using the filters and when not. I only own a couple of cheap filters so winning this kit would be awesome.
Great filter system, been using the V5 for several years, time for an upgrade on the holder maybe!
Thanks for another awesome and informative video. I’ve always understood the basics of how these drop-in filters work but nice to actually see how they work over the screw-on type I’m used to
Brendan, Great Video and am going to start to do the research to see if these filters work well for creating videos
Still looking at what system to get so nice to see how this one works.
Would love to get myself a start into the filter system. I usually go for multiple exposures as you don't need anything else to mount on the lens. But lately i think the filters just makes me exploring into a new adventure.

That would be outstanding if NiSi came out with the turntable filters. Would that cause any kind of polarisation effect if turned?
I've been thinking about getting a filter system but can't decide between Nisi and Kase. This could make my mind up for me!
I stumbled on the Kase filter system recently and it works a lot like the NiSi system you show, but the polarizer is held in by magnets vs threaded making it quick to change. It also has a geared rotator for the polarizer and light block for the Long Exposures. Pretty happy so far. Lots of choices with quality filter holders lately.
got nisi as my first filter system. Works well for me but I didn't have a previous filter system "workflow". love the polarizer.
I bought the V5 system and enjoyed it; my only complaint is you can't replace the polarizer filter if damaged. I had an incident with my camera recently where it fell in the water. Very detailed yet precise exposition, it has added to my list of potential filters for purchase. Greatful for your effort
Excellent video again Brendan. I am a complete novice to photography but I'm really enjoying it. I've not used filters before, but now I'm interested to try them out. All the best.
Thanks for the review of the Nissi system Brendan, much appreciated.
Thank you for the review I was thinking of getting the Nisi kit great timing.
I have been using NISI filters for over a year and I am very pleased. Great and quality and pleasant to use
Great video. I’m just looking into a filter system
The NiSi system really bring out the colors, great photos!
Cool design for the CPL. I'll give it a try and see how I like it.
Great timing! I just bought a Canon 5dsr about 2 weeks ago. Next I want to get a filter system. Would you recommend the NISI over Lee? Also, what is the difference between the v6 versus the v5 system?

Great review. I am interested in the new release you mentioned. I hope they give you one to look at.
Nice shots love seeing the comparison and why we need filters
Always great to see and compare different filter systems. Thanks for the video as always.
