Rustoleum Regal Red is a close match to the original color. Autozone has a ceramic engine paint for the heads. I forgot how high a temp it is for. The block does not need to be high temp paint.
Yes agree on the rustoleum, in my area spray paints are hard to come bye but the autozone engine paint is rated up to 700 degrees. I tend to use on the entire engine because it’s a strong paint that is hard to come off. Great info thanks for your advice. Super cool
Looks great!!! I'm about to start mine. What paint type(brand)/paint colors did you use? Would you create/sell decals by chance? Mine will need all new.
I usually use engine paint from AutoZone, but they were out of the color that I wanted to use so I bought caliper paint it’s rated at the same temperature I believe as engine paint.
Great job, thanks so much for posting this rebuild.

Ceramic engine paint for the heads in Rattle cans or for a sprayer setup?

As far as the decals go, it was just kind of experiment. Don’t think I would be good enough to sell any lol
just "black" and "red" caliper paint @ autozone? The red looked like a fairly good match.
