Bought one and put it on the balcony (Using Tripod) in an apartment, connected to an Icom 705... 5 watts. Played on 15mtrs, getting out all over the place 5/6 to 5/9. Very simple to use and a reasonable price. Also great for going out and parking up and run the antenna spiked in the ground. Good quality and easy to leave in the boot. Glad I bought one :-) Very easy to set up and tune (no ATU needed) Eric - G4VZZ
I am working toward Kilo POTA award, this antenna has been eorking great from Tennessee. I even made QSOs to France, Italy, and Poland while doing qrp POTA.
Hi Gary/Richard, conditions the last few weeks have been rough with solar flares. This antenna is a full size 1/4wave on all bands. It’s bound to perform well. Perhaps consider beach portable for a saltwater boost or somewhere high. Also running the 6100 off external power for the full 10watts would help a little too. Looks a lovely antenna. Think it’s perfect without the tripod. 73 Steve MW0SAW
This antenna seems to be pretty good. I do the same with a vertical whip and a slide winder coil, but having this antenna would make portable ops a easier. Unfortunately I don’t have the budget to buy one but it’s a good antenna. 73
I'd be interested to see how it handles a SOTA summit. As you said in the video, you would probably need to weigh down the tripod (or guy it somehow). It would probably be ok without if using the spike. I'm guessing performance would be similar to my MRQ-213 & Slidewinder coil setup that I normally use. I seem to test my equipment to the edge of destruction. I'm more than happy to take it up a mountain & put it through it's paces on my channel if Martin wants to loan me one or do some kind of a deal!
Very cool idea marking the antenna with the band. Would be interesting to see it setup as an EFHW on 10M or 12M. I’m sure a 49:1 or 56:1 transformer would be needed.
Does the telescoping antenna have markers beyond 7,14,28,50? Wondering if it has a marker for using 12, 15, 17 meters and possible 30M with the 40M coil?
I have this antenna with the tripod, and I regularly set up on the shore of the Maine island I live on - when it is windy, I put a few rocks on the three legs of the tripod and I’ve never had any trouble.

Ed, many thanks for your report on this antenna. It does work very well, and very popular for portable ops.
I like this duo. Operators in the field with real life situations. Excellent videos guys.
Hello Sandip. Thank you for the comment, very much appreciated.

That's a fantastic bag. I've put my IC-705 in it!

I like the high visibility of the counterpoise. Great for POTA

Hi, Cool antenna, I still don't have that in my inventory 🙂
Danke für das tolle Video.73,de Jozef OE1CJG.😊😊😊
I'm more interested in the "contraption."
Now you’re making me question whether the super antenna I ordered from you is the better option vs this one!!
Great video and I'm glad you remembered your ham bag :)
Hi Dave, thanks for the comment - Keep your eyes peeled for the new, smaller, ham bags...
great video
Looks a good portable antenna, not to sure about the small tripod though

Be good to see performance on 40m. What is the full length of whip?
Hi, The manufacturer quotes the telescopic whip to be 5.2m.
Very nice 73 EA4HHX
