Although the baby having such great balance is kinda odd, it reaching out towards a random spot in the room for just be it trying to reach towards the door, but not being able to turn itself towards the door for fear of falling. Many kids will do a thing, like climb into a precarious spot, and realize too late that they can't do it on their own, so they'll start screaming and crying out for a parent. The baby could've just tried to get out of the crib (probably to go to the parent it cries out to), realized it fucked up, and panicked while trying to stay as still as possible so it didn't fall and hurt itself. The balance could just be a part of the panic mode baby went into. Humans are weird in general, it's no wonder our kids do freaky stuff occasionally. Sorry this was so long 😅
I'm not a parent myself, but my sis and her hubby live with me along with their son, my little nephew. I can confirm my little guy is an exceptional climber and has far more balance than I have even at 38. Still, that was seriously creepy and worthy of an upvote from Eddie.
The doll part gave me chicken skin, my dad grew up with porcelain dolls in his room all three of his walls were filled with shelves of them in the basement of their house which was six feet underground.. So it was dark af. he also had a cold storage cellar right next to his bedroom 💀

I've had something like the knocking on doors and whispering happen, but the most frightening that's happened to me is a random activation of the fight, flight, or freeze reaction in safe places like a school. I was frozen in place during a test I was taken while staring at a corner until a test supervisor touched my shoulder and broke me out the freeze response. I was taken out the room and never wanted to step foot in that room again let alone in the chair right by the door since the corner that the thing was in stares right at that chair.
