We have a whole bunch in transfer service right now up here in BC on CN's New Westminster Subdivision. Sets of 2-3 are the norm and I have even seen one set of 6 on a train. It's interesting.
Interesting - that other fellow mentioned the "sag" in the high bridge. That sharp dip has been there for years, and I've often wondered how critical a structural issue it illustrates. One would think CN's engineers are monitoring it closely.
To get those Somerset bridge shots, you must do some marathon walking or maybe use a bicycle you can stow out of sight in the brush, the way both ends of that structure have been solidly and expansively posted "No Parking" the past few years.
Thank you for the comment. L506 usually gets back to New Brighton in the morning; anywhere from 8am to noon. L516 in turn usually goes to work in the afternoon.
@@SD457500 No, It showed up many years ago (10+). Only time I have been nervous was taking a 350 ton transformer over it at 10MPH. You know you are reaching the limit when the clearance department slows you down. It's nice to see the piers reinforced, but I was always wondering if there was a structural engineer down there to say "I think we have removed enough of the old concrete".
@@SD457500 Ah, how were you able to get on to the high bridge? My grandpa decided to take me there years ago and there was a trespassing sign. Amazing video!

Thanks for the comment. I'm glad that they are being put to good, regular service. For us railfans, its great to see over the typical GEs.
Little bit of sag in that high bridge line. Is that over the St. Croix or the Apple? Thanks.
Thanks for the comment! This is over the Saint Croix River.
@@SD457500 thx.

Thanks for the comment! I timed this very well in order to pull off the bridge shots.
When does the L506 come through New Brighton now? I have been unsuccessful at catching this and the Belt job.

I've seen that sag on the High Bridge for years. From our perspective it's more of a "kink". Looks a little more ominous at your angle and zoom level.
I've always wondered how the crews felt about that sag in the middle of the bridge... Has it been there the entire time you've been running over it?

Excellent catch, love that trestle shots & the second one too : )
Thanks for the comment! I'm glad that you enjoyed it! The High Bridge is an amazing piece of engineering...
What time does L516 come through Somerset/New Richmond
Thanks for the comment! It truly depends on how early L517 gets in, but recently, its been between 5 to 6:30PM.
