Big Pete - The World's First Monster Truck & Trailer | RIDICULOUS RIDES
Вставка
- Опубліковано 23 чер 2020
- The UK is home to the Monster Truck Nationals and in 2019 English monster legend, Mike Murty attempted a world first with his truck ‘Big Pete.’ Mike told Barcroft Cars: “We have planned for many years, and for the first time it will be seen this weekend - the world’s first monster truck and trailer, which we designed to be able to crush the cars.” Powered by a Big-Block Chevrolet V8 engine, three-speed automatic gearbox, and sporting Mega X BIB tyres - Big Pete is known to jump 15 feet and always puts on an amazing show. "These trucks are car killing machines”, Mike said. “It is an awesome and yet awful thing to drive at the same time.” In the film, Mike and Big Pete attempt a world’s first - taking the truck and trailer over a fleet of cars.

This reminds me of the really early days of monster trucks like Bigfoot lol
Ikr, Its like the old school arena design of the 80s
That's the cool thing about it. It's a real truck and is more entertaining than current trucks
True, kicks me in the heart
Me 2, but those bygone days are gone
What year is it in England, looks like they're about 35 years behind
They should put a monster truck on the trailer
That'll be BIGGER pete.
That would be awesome. I hope they do that someday.
@@Autisticguywithacamera yes
Built old school. Love it!
I miss Super Pete built by Mike Welch in Washington state. It was first
This is one of the most American vehicles I've ever seen, and it's from the UK of all places
The truck and arena are like beginning career mode in a monster truck game.
I never knew they do Monster Trucks in the UK
Nothing beat going to Truckfest on Peterborough with Big Pete, Bigfoot, swamp thing and the jet truck on show.
actually wasn't there a "super Pete" monster truck in the 80's and it was purple? now i will give you credit for the trailer
This thing screams to be in a mad max movie
looks stupid wehn the trailer isn't even level with the truck...i suppose the construction wasn't fully thought out
whens this coming to SnowRunner?
Ask the modders to design it
Y E S
People put tayga tires on everything
I didn't know they had monster trucks in the UK
My boi BIG PETE
That rig would work great here in south Louisiana to haul sh!t to oil rigs out in the middle of nowhere
Engine and gear box would have to be changed though. And extend the frame and make it a tandem.
I LOVE BIG PETE HE IS MY FAN!!!!!
Corvette dash at that. I would put an 8v92 with a Allison automatic. I mean big block chevy and a 3 speed automatic are for a pickup not a semi.
I will say that is a Big, little pete right there! 😂🤣
Doesn’t have the impact if you binge watched oil rig trucks last week :o) Wow they make those terra tyres work hard.
Should have leveled the trailer so something could be placed on it.
Actually Kapplen tree service up here in the thumb of Michigan has a very similar rig for getting through rough terrain to fell trees. It is a beast of a boom truck.
* gets in big Pete and drive * BOI!!!!
This is defiantly NOT the first semi truck monster truck.
SUPER PETE was the first back In the 80s.
Cool
Sweeeeeeeet ride
Ya what type of peterbilt is it
Ey big pete ya ready for the big haul?
*eeyup*
The "Grime Reaper" truck appeared in an episode of top gear with a different body once
There’s one like that in the midwest
Super cool to look at. I'm confused why they thought it might not work.
thinking worried the trailer would bunny hop to the side and get hung up on the cars
0:50 thought roxanne started playing.
Mike Welch built the first one more than 30 years ago. This isn't the first by a long shot.
Yeah was called Super Pete
Agreed
Pretty sure they mean first truck and trailer not first semi truck to be made into a monster truck.
@@Rangerman69420 Mike had the first truck and trailer. More than 30 years ago.
this reminds me when i saw big pete about 7 years ago at the great dorset steam fair would love to see it again
Iuhohq
Say what you want but when you hear monster trucks you do not think of the UK but US
So they didn’t use a cat motor in it? I decline this being a semi monster truck
Not the 1st truck also there was already a peterbuilt monster truck in the 80s
Looks like from motorstorm
Update the suspension and put a diesel engine in it, then it would be perfect. Probably only cost $80,000, just dig that out of the couch cushions
This is not the first truck and trailer monster truck there out that is a cabover and dry van
While impressive, it's not the first monster semi. There was also Mike Welch's Super Pete and - perhaps more impressive - Don Buchholtz' King of the Road.
A BBC and an automatic transmission? Sounds like a monster truck wannabe with an old Peterbilt cab on it. Not saying that it's not cool, I'm just saying that it's seriously lacking in a lot of areas. Should have a big Caterpillar engine and duals on twin rear axles along with duals on twin axles on a regular length trailer. Great concept and I hope to see it done correctly one of these days.
It needs another rear axle
Aloo mini-um
Any one els notice one of the other monster trucks is a Lamborghini countach
I filmed this and yes the Lambo won the UK championships! It’s Swedish built, owned and driven
@@nilsfilm proof?
Oh there is a monster borghini
Oo
hey plk do you like the monster jam?
Both
It’s a cool design, but heavy trucks, no speed, rolling over cars is a thing of the past
Why are they playing let freedom ring in Britain? Lololololol
Y
Either this video is old or the British monster trucks aren't as nice as ours in the USA
" welcome to the united kingdom" wait what?
Is it under 80,000 pounds though or are you always overweight? 😁
Wait, I thought Brits were repulsed by "American" things like monster trucks.
What a waste of a classic 359 model Peterbilt cab body & hood. But it is cool, though.
Why is it wasted?
Hahaha
@@rollingdigger19 just because its the classic 359 model Peterbilt cab & hood that still could've been used for good ole trucking still.
this was ruined by the gas engine and not a diesel
