Found one of these recently. Needed some work. This video saved me LOTS of heartache. Thank you!

I bought one of these from a thrift store years ago and love it. This video saved me from cracking or breaking it when I needed to open it. Much thanks.

It's the hardest clock to open I think. Glad I could help!

Aw man I’m such a newb! had to laugh at myself (rather than cry) as I watched your excellent video AFTER I had already jumped in and done everything wrong. I broke the two plastic clips at the top of the lens, I detached the bottom metal block completely and then had to trickily get it back on the bolts. Oh well, we live and learn, thanks for the tutorial regardless!

If only you knew the number of crash and burns I've experienced. I feel your pain but I love your attitude!!

I just restored a 222 and also wrangled with the cover. Through trial and error I found that if you release the top tabs first, the cover just rotates away from the rest of the clock and you never have to mess with the bottom tabs at all. Thanks for all your videos!

That's interesting. The only thing is that I've seen the tops of some clocks and can tell that someones mangled it going at it from that way. Did you pry it?

First I removed the clear plastic. Then just pushed in (part tabs went into) to get some tab separation and a lip to pull on. Then, pushing in and maybe pulling, working it a bit , the tabs separated. Once the tabs had released, pulled to the rear of the clock the whole back of the clock rotated easily off. Put together by hooking in bottom tabs then rotating back cover on until the top tabs snapped in place.

The alarm clocks with 12 hours format should be forbidden by law...

You could try to use a plastic zip tie. Those tend to have the right amount of flexibility but strong enough to work. I wish I could take a look at it.
