Jinxx themself confirmed that the producers changed the lip synch song between her and Detox at the last minute. However I think it's disingenuous for people to say that gave Jinxx an unfair advantage. As we saw in AS7, Jinxx can hold their own in a lip synch. It's not all about flashy twirls and death drops. It's about embodying the spirit of the song, and Jinxx does that pretty darn well.
During the video of the live announcement of the Double Crowning you can clearly tell it was completely alien to both Monet and Trinity. Trinity just doesn't understand what is happening and even asks if the money is being split. If they'd filmed, or discussed the possibility of, a double win then surely the reactions wouldn't have been ones of pure confusion. 🤔
I don't look at drag race as fake, but only because I don't view it as a true competition. It is an entertainment program. I know it'd called reality tv, but we have all known for years that reality doesn't mean real. I have zero expectation that the show is not produced. The best queen will not always win and the worst will not always go home. They will make whatever outcome they think will create the most entertaining show happen. That's why I think fans need to stop being overly concerned with who actually wins, we should just be happy for all of the queens for being on such a huge platform, regardless of their placement. Don't get me wrong, I always want my favorites to win. I'm just saying a queen winning does not necessarily mean that they are better than others just because they won. It just means that the producers thought that the winner just made for better tv than others for whatever reason.
From what I remember during the AllStars season with Trinity and Monet, there was a lot of buzz on the internet re: the lack of Queens of Color in the winner's circle at the time. Based on wins throughout the season, Trinity had the better record. However, production knew they'd get roasted if they gave the crown to another white queen. BUT they couldn't just give the win to Monet because her record didn't qualify her for the win. So, the "Tie" was the best compromise they could come up with to satisfy the majority of the fans. Nowadays, production films multiple endings and towards the end of the season, they pick the one that best suits them, based on how the audience is reacting to the episodes.

One of drag queen said on her own tour that drag race crew pushing them to talk about their life, terrible experience, sobbing stories, and also cause drama.
I can't help but wonder which queen would be the winner if she is chosen during the filming. So many times (after S3 ofc) I'm so sure the winner would be different without the pause between filming and airing.
Tbh it was annoying how much favouritism was shown towards Kandy. It was like Silky all over again. Kandy was unpolished, loud and obnoxious and that last minute save with a double shantay felt like a slap to the face.
so much favouritism in that season. Kandy should have gone. Olivia should have gone earlier. Poor Simone never got any real feedback (like padding), and despite the possibility of her being able to win without the favouritism, will never have their win taken seriously.

it's seems sad to me that certain scenarios are set up because the producers will think its more entertaining for us the viewers of the show. some bottom placements and certain eliminations I believe have been unfair. I believe if they allowed more of the queens talent to shine through the show would still be entertaining we saw it in all stars 7 where no one when home and they only chose to show positive critiques from the judges.

i find it interesting that they blurred out mariah's "congratulations raja" because many queens have expressed that they want a certain queen to win/think she's going to win (i only remember queens from international seasons like yuri guaii or dovima nurmi) in their mirror message. maybe it's because mariah was implying that raja was already chosen as the winner whereas yuri and dovima where just leaving a nice message for their friends? or maybe international seasons have different rules or they don't care anymore because they film multiple crownings
I really miss the first few seasons cause yes some things were edited and a lil scripted, but wasn't completely fake either, just dramatisized for television.
I remember one of the queens (I think it was monet post AS4) saying how on season 10 the producers asked her if she would do all stars and she said yes and then they eliminated her the next week. It was a long time ago that I heard this so I could be wrong about who it was but the story was definitely said publicly by a queen. This definitely shows how the producers manipulate the show
I definitely think Viv was set up with the boxes. Having a 'brass' box randomly, just seemed like they chose that particular word because being a 'brassy bird' is quite a common phrase in the UK. The song just seemed perfect for Yvie to win, whilst the other song would have been more perfect for Viv

Rupaul has said in several interviews that he is a bit of a control freak. With that said, I don’t believe there is a thing that goes on that Ru isn’t aware of and/or controls. Although I still watch, I believe these shows are highly manipulated.
With the season 4 LaLaPaRuZa, if you go back and watch the episode there’s a moment in the episode where Latrice is talking to Jasmine and you can hear the song on Jasmines headphones that she lipsyncs too

Hell yes it is fake. One of my favorite parts is whenever Ru comes into the work room everyone is excited. Give me a break. I like the earlier seasons where the girls had to make a lot of their clothing.I think that even that was semi fake. Give me a break, 2 or 3 girls can't sew and has a hard time asking for help or they just hot glue everything. I just want to see how a outfit looks hot glued. I wonder if there is a clothing fairy to help with that problem.
Or when she announces a guest judge and they all lose their shit, but I'm like "Who TF is that?" Apparently they're all told they have to act excited even if they don't know who the judge is
I knew that production was interfering TOO much when after watching the Meet the Queens episode for drag race uk season 1 i knew who would win!!! For me the result has been me being not as committed to watching RPDR which is sad considering ive been a big fan since the vaseline smeared season 1. I understand that there needs to be structure and organisation but when that impacts everything and everyone then it loses so much for me. There are certain 'villain' edite which are obviously choreographed but i like to believe in my rose tinted world that unless a scene is fully scripted a person cant be made to speak certain lines so if you say something you later regret own it apologise and then reflect not find excuses but like i said i live in a world where actions have consequences 💜💙❤
I've known 4 contestants from 4 different seasons and there's definitely a lot of prompts, notes about 'save it for the camera' and when the cameras aren't rolling, everyone is told to be on 'hard ice' (as in, no talking) and the ones who seem like they hate each other, are actually very good friends during and after production. A show won't be renewed if it has lackluster ratings the closer it gets to a finale. They aren't just looking for talent, they're looking for talented people with stories they can embellish and exploit. It's a bit suspect that Willam had to leave the competition early....being the only SAG member of the cast.
I don't think production knowing during the filming of the crownings who isn't going to win is evidence that the winner is pre chosen, that's literally one of the last things being filmed for the season and the primary reason is to prevent the live audience from spoiling who wins anyway. That doesn't mean production doesn't have queens they prefer and who get a little help along the way but the filmed crownings are a not actually evidence of that, at that point production should know who wins or at least who doesn't have a shot.
Right! It's also weird to use those as evidence, but then also use Monet and Trinity's win being chosen after filming as evidence too. Which is it? They can't both be evidence of the same thing; they're literally opposite situations.
Let's do a reality check: we're wondering if, on a show where one person gets to pick who wins, based on whatever the heck s/he decides counts that day (today's runway or the whole season...), that show might indeed have a subjective aspect? ;-) It's great that RuPaul creates such opportunities for local queens to become international superstars. They ALL have the potential to be lifetime winners, beyond the show, given the continued "Ru Girl" label they can market, the opps for tours, recording, and public exposure, if they can learn to play nicely and professionally with others, etc. etc. And that's my opinion.
I personally think that drag queens can make more money than being a Ru girl. When you are on drag race Wow own you for a certain time period preventing you from doing events that can make you a lot of money. Courtney Act isn't huge in the US; but she's very popular in Australia. People need to realise that US drag and Drag Race isn't the be all and end all of drag.

If anything, PhiPhi’s “shade” to Sharon was deserved. I thought about it… on the subject of the villain edits 06:10 I can safely say that now, ten years later, I agree with all of PhiPhi’s (aka Jeremy Carey’s) choice words to Sharon. And that’s only what producers allowed the public to see! Just look at Sharon’s true self now - showing her vile side, as allegedly she always has, even during season four filming. In my opinion, she could take any and all of the “drama” from Jeremy/PhiPhi. The comments which were served to Sharon on the season (“party city,” or “washed up showgirl”, “I want a cruise!!” etc.) is NOTHING compared to the bullshit Sharon puts out into the world herself. Ya know, stuff she takes ZERO accountability for. And then cries at the interviewers, because she feels her art is misunderstood, but she continues to evade the actual question (will she stop using the N word). Meanwhile, at least Jeremy has absolutely stood by everything he’s said to Sharon. Even though he says they’ve reconciled after the fact. Whatever. We know a majority of the footage doesn’t get aired. Edits and production whittle it down to the actual episode we see. I’m talking about Willam, Latrice and Chad saying how Sharon wouldn’t stop using the N word on set all the time during filming.. calling Latrice, Milan, Dida, and all the black queens the N word and “this one” and “that one”. Maybe that’s a big part of phi phi lashing out too. They just cut it out. So… sorry not sorry. Eye for an eye bitch! Karma may not come as we expect it to, or from whom we think, but it will come.
TBH, I do not think the producers were counting on the fans...and I don't know if this is a correct way to say it..."flipping" the vote just so that we could be heard! These producers run this show too much! It's time for the fans to have the final word.
for more preplanned winner stuff, it was reported by people attending the s14 finale that the confetti cannons shot out significantly less confetti for Lady Camden then they did for Willow Pill. Camden's was shot first, and Willow after, so it was presumably done to make it easier to clean since the real winner would be filmed after.
I think people have to remember that it’s a television show and a competition. The producers have a job to do. It’s not just going to be all willy nilly fully raw footage. There has to be some sort of direction for the season.
I DEFINITELY think that the acting challenges are fake. 100%. The queens somehow end up with the correct outfits even if they fight over the roles? Weird. Please prove me wrong if you have any other theories. Someone once said that production gave the outfits, but each queen is different and has different measurements. We're never shown the queen making their own outfits. I think roles are pre-given before queens arrive at the workroom and each queen has a role, some the same in case one doesn't make it to that challenge. Also, re: shady editing. Someone once posted a comment on a video that said Gigi Goode's snatch game could've definitely been edited as if she flopped it, but because she was a front runner, they editing it so it looked positive. That really put things into perspective for me.
But in 14+ seasons no queen has ever hinted at that. Which seems unlikely with all the T that has come out. Also, what about the outfits of queens who get eliminated before their time by an injury? It's not like an outfit for Kornbread or Eureka would fit just anyone. S14 girl group challenge also required specific outfits. Is your theory that those groups were also pre-determined? Production just makes/taylors the outfits after the roles have been asigned.
@@tbbcch1039 yeah, my theory is that all girls are assigned a role at casting. Some get duplicates in the event they don't make it. Thats what made the most sense to me but I didn't think about the fact that production/a team makes the outfits which also makes sense!
They make 3 versions of each outfit and forget tailor them to fit who has the part. It's been confirmed. Some challenges they are already picked and are clear about that and they either just have the one outfit provided or they brought it.
One thing I’ve always wondered is when the queens are allowed to assign roles to the others. For example in S12 when they did the Madonna Rusical. Can’t remember who but someone who won the mini challenge was allowed to assign the roles amongst the other queens. My theory is that the costume department will have had to make the costumes for each queen in advanced before the role had been “assigned.” For example, Gigi Goode is a tall, slim queen, but Widow Von Du is more of a plus size queen. If she was given Gigi’s role, she wouldn’t have fitted into the costume made for Gigi and vice versa. So maybe it isn’t entirely random, because then the costumes wouldn’t have matched the queens that they had been made for. I know it’s the show’s costumes and not the queen’s own drag, because Sherry Pie wore a costume in that rusical, and Roxxy Andrews had been seen wearing the same one in a different season. Does anyone know anything about this?
i know they give those to the queens on set, and i do think they sometimes make a role with certain queens in mind. however im not sure, it might be possible to construct those garments in time. since the episodes are filmed over several days, if they have a pattern and the fabric ready to cut, maybe they could just take their measurements and sew it up for the next day. or heck they could just have clothes of a few different sizes pre made, and just make little adjustments on the day.
For the twinners, the double crowning cant be last minute, my theory is that it was for latrila but it didnt work out so they to use that 200k somewhere
I don't think it was set for Latrila but their entrance was CLEARLY foreshadowing of a double win that went over so many peoples heads. If you rewatch that episode in the beginning Ru drops a few subtle hints of how the season would turn out .

I've realized the planned winners and eliminations for many years. Shea was production's choice for AS5. Her Snatch Game of Love and runway look did not deserve to win, it should've been to Alexis, and I'm not even an Alexis fan.
Personally I think that Rupaul already has in mind who the winner is going to be. I also think Rupaul knows what will generate buzz whether good or bad . Case in point Season 13. Rupaul knew Kandy making it to the final 2 would cause alot of hype and so that's why that Season went the way it did.
For AS4 it was clear that Trinity was the winner (since Manila was booted) and to avoid backlash over another white winner they made it a double crown. Also. It seems the show was planning on double crowning Manila and Latrice, but we saw why that didn't end up happening.
I don't understand picking out a winner beforehand. What if they get on the show and start doing terrible in the challenges, they would eventually need to be sent home. Not saying they don't pre pick them, I just don't understand how that would work. Also why not just have the show play out as it should and have the drag queen who rightfully deserves to win, actually win? For the most part i feel like all the winners ( maybe besides a select few) did deserve to win, whether they were my top pick or not. So the whole "pre picked winner" thing is just so confusing to me.
It’s a tv show. Its literally meant to be an edited format, though probs not as bad as Instagram influencers, Twitter porn, UA-cam channels… it’s the fucking media. It’s the easiest way to build narratives and manipulate storylines. It. Is. What. It’s. Made. For. Guess what, real life is not unalterated either: conversations with your mates, job interviews, news articles, buying a car, a house, dating… all of those interactions/aspects of life have ideology, power relations, and/or some for of “manipulation” deeply embedded in them. If you want an unalterated version of life, go be an amoeba.
Overall I'm happy with the editing. I live for the shade and drama, if not... where the spice? We can at times be shocked and feel sympathy for the qweens but at the end we love and live for the good entertaining feuds. I mean is a drag show not a vatican broadcast...
I don't think the lip syncs in the finale episodes should count for nothing, but on the other hand, I definitely don't think they alone should be determinative of who wins (not that they currently are, of course). In other words, if there is a clear frontrunner based on the season so far and yet they don't do as well as the other contestant in their lip sync in the finale, I think it makes sense to advance the "losing" queen provided their performance in the lip sync wasn't terrible.
The thing is, it's not "rigged" because it doesn't have any standards or rules outside of itself. It's not basketball or the Olympics. Winning Drag Race means that the producers & judges (chiefly RuPaul) have decided that you're the winner. That's literally all it means. Does that make it fake? Only when it pretends otherwise -- when it pretends that there is an absolute set of rules, etc. But if they want to pretend something is random when it isn't, or edit something to suggest and idea, or frame something a certain way -- well, that's just the show. It is a highly produced show, which blends the reality of the contestants with the wishes of the production team. Fans would be a lot happier if they accepted that there is no version of RPDR that is "pure" or "unproduced" -- and they probably wouldn' twant to watch it even if it did exist.
The time and money and heart the queens put into doing Drag race. They leave their entire life behind. Their families and jobs. If it is true that Rupaul already has a winner picked before the competition even starts, thats messed up.
Clearly faked for the favorites. Like when Kennedy Dragged Trixie in that final lip sync and they still crowed Trixie 🙄 or when monet dog walked jinx in that lip sync and they still crowed her also
The biggest proof of the winner being pre picked is Jinkx winning AS7. Don't get me wrong, she's one of my favourite queens and I wanted her to win from the start and she 100% deserved it. But she didn't win any of those lip syncs.
What are you talking about, she only did that 1 lip-sync against Detox (which she killed at). Her season was an audience vote season, so any performance after was after the votes were finished.
It's a TELEVISION SHOW, not a life event. Or course it is scripted, of course it is controlled as much as it is needed. Having 0 evidence but I will not be surprised if favoured or required contestants are helped in between filming with song verses or clothes/footwear parts. And you know what - I do not care, I like a good show, even if it is staged at some point.
I never noticed a "villian" narrative ... I think people should just learn to not say nasty things?? tbh I can't recall anything that was even that nasty?? haven't watched EVERY season tbh I'm a fake fan. so it has to all be personal projection imo
yeah but some of the queens are ‘pushed’ to say those things, for example the Roxxxy Andrew’s line on S5 “seeing you on the bottom 2” that was a response to Jinx asking her what has been her fav moment on the competition, was actually kinda rigged. Roxxxy said that producers told her to say something nasty or juicy, and since she was already so stressed for the competition, she said anything she thought it would be juicy enough for the producers to continue the ‘the villain vs the nice’ storyline
the contract says that queens have to take multiple takes of an argument if produces says it’s necessary for the tv drama so they can edit and take the best parts. btw my english is not the best but I hope the idea of the comment is understandable :)
manila absolutely would have won all stars if it weren’t for her being in the bottom in the makeover challenge, the producers just chose a shocking tv moment over a clear front runner staying in the competition
But Manila was eliminated by the queens, not production. It is posible that they wanted her to win, but put her in the bottom bc they didn't think both queens would chose her lipstick. Think about it, if Katya and Detox had chosen Alaska's lipstick, then she couldn't have won AS2, no matter what production wanted.

Based on wins throughout the season, Trinity had the better record. However, production knew they'd get roasted if they gave the crown to another white queen. BUT they couldn't just give the win to Monet because her record didn't qualify her for the win. So, the "Tie" was the best compromise they could come up with to satisfy the majority of the fans. Nowadays, production films multiple endings and towards the end of the season, they pick the one that best suits them, based on how the audience is reacting to the episodes.

Tbh it was annoying how much favouritism was shown towards Kandy. It was like Silky all over again. Kandy was unpolished, loud and obnoxious and that last minute save with a double shantay felt like a slap to the face.

it's seems sad to me that certain scenarios are set up because the producers will think its more entertaining for us the viewers of the show. some bottom placements and certain eliminations I believe have been unfair. I believe if they allowed more of the queens talent to shine through the show would still be entertaining we saw it in all stars 7 where no one when home and they only chose to show positive critiques from the judges.

I really miss the first few seasons cause yes some things were edited and a lil scripted, but wasn't completely fake either, just dramatisized for television.
I remember one of the queens (I think it was monet post AS4) saying how on season 10 the producers asked her if she would do all stars and she said yes and then they eliminated her the next week. It was a long time ago that I heard this so I could be wrong about who it was but the story was definitely said publicly by a queen. This definitely shows how the producers manipulate the show
I definitely think Viv was set up with the boxes. Having a 'brass' box randomly, just seemed like they chose that particular word because being a 'brassy bird' is quite a common phrase in the UK. The song just seemed perfect for Yvie to win, whilst the other song would have been more perfect for Viv

I like the earlier seasons where the girls had to make a lot of their clothing.I think that even that was semi fake. Give me a break, 2 or 3 girls can't sew and has a hard time asking for help or they just hot glue everything. I just want to see how a outfit looks hot glued. I wonder if there is a clothing fairy to help with that problem.

I knew that production was interfering TOO much when after watching the Meet the Queens episode for drag race uk season 1 i knew who would win!!! For me the result has been me being not as committed to watching RPDR which is sad considering ive been a big fan since the vaseline smeared season 1. I understand that there needs to be structure and organisation but when that impacts everything and everyone then it loses so much for me. There are certain 'villain' edite which are obviously choreographed but i like to believe in my rose tinted world that unless a scene is fully scripted a person cant be made to speak certain lines so if you say something you later regret own it apologise and then reflect not find excuses but like i said i live in a world where actions have consequences 💜💙❤
I've known 4 contestants from 4 different seasons and there's definitely a lot of prompts, notes about 'save it for the camera' and when the cameras aren't rolling, everyone is told to be on 'hard ice' (as in, no talking) and the ones who seem like they hate each other, are actually very good friends during and after production. A show won't be renewed if it has lackluster ratings the closer it gets to a finale. They aren't just looking for talent, they're looking for talented people with stories they can embellish and exploit. It's a bit suspect that Willam had to leave the competition early....being the only SAG member of the cast.
I don't think production knowing during the filming of the crownings who isn't going to win is evidence that the winner is pre chosen, that's literally one of the last things being filmed for the season and the primary reason is to prevent the live audience from spoiling who wins anyway. That doesn't mean production doesn't have queens they prefer and who get a little help along the way but the filmed crownings are a not actually evidence of that, at that point production should know who wins or at least who doesn't have a shot.
Right! It's also weird to use those as evidence, but then also use Monet and Trinity's win being chosen after filming as evidence too.

Let's do a reality check: we're wondering if, on a show where one person gets to pick who wins, based on whatever the heck s/he decides counts that day (today's runway or the whole season...), that show might indeed have a subjective aspect? ;-) It's great that RuPaul creates such opportunities for local queens to become international superstars. They ALL have the potential to be lifetime winners, beyond the show, given the continued "Ru Girl" label they can market, the opps for tours, recording, and public exposure, if they can learn to play nicely and professionally with others, etc. etc. And that's my opinion.
I personally think that drag queens can make more money than being a Ru girl. When you are on drag race Wow own you for a certain time period preventing you from doing events that can make you a lot of money. Courtney Act isn't huge in the US; but she's very popular in Australia. People need to realise that US drag and Drag Race isn't the be all and end all of drag.

I thought about it… on the subject of the villain edits 06:10 I can safely say that now, ten years later, I agree with all of PhiPhi’s (aka Jeremy Carey’s) choice words to Sharon. And that’s only what producers allowed the public to see! Just look at Sharon’s true self now - showing her vile side, as allegedly she always has, even during season four filming. In my opinion, she could take any and all of the “drama” from Jeremy/PhiPhi. The comments which were served to Sharon on the season (“party city,” or “washed up showgirl”, “I want a cruise!!” etc.) is NOTHING compared to the bullshit Sharon puts out into the world herself. Ya know, stuff she takes ZERO accountability for. And then cries at the interviewers, because she feels her art is misunderstood, but she continues to evade the actual question (will she stop using the N word).
Meanwhile, at least Jeremy has absolutely stood by everything he’s said to Sharon. Even though he says they’ve reconciled after the fact. Whatever. We know a majority of the footage doesn’t get aired. Edits and production whittle it down to the actual episode we see. I’m talking about Willam, Latrice and Chad saying how Sharon wouldn’t stop using the N word on set all the time during filming.. calling Latrice, Milan, Dida, and all the black queens the N word and “this one” and “that one”. Maybe that’s a big part of phi phi lashing out too. They just cut it out. So… sorry not sorry. Eye for an eye bitch! Karma may not come as we expect it to, or from whom we think, but it will come.
TBH, I do not think the producers were counting on the fans...and I don't know if this is a correct way to say it..."flipping" the vote just so that we could be heard! These producers run this show too much! It's time for the fans to have the final word.
for more preplanned winner stuff, it was reported by people attending the s14 finale that the confetti cannons shot out significantly less confetti for Lady Camden then they did for Willow Pill. Camden's was shot first, and Willow after, so it was presumably done to make it easier to clean since the real winner would be filmed after.
I think people have to remember that it’s a television show and a competition. The producers have a job to do. It’s not just going to be all willy nilly fully raw footage. There has to be some sort of direction for the season.
It's pretty obvious we can place responsibility for the toxic fandom on the producers addiction and elevation of drama on the show.
I DEFINITELY think that the acting challenges are fake. 100%. The queens somehow end up with the correct outfits even if they fight over the roles? Weird. Please prove me wrong if you have any other theories. Someone once said that production gave the outfits, but each queen is different and has different measurements. We're never shown the queen making their own outfits. I think roles are pre-given before queens arrive at the workroom and each queen has a role, some the same in case one doesn't make it to that challenge. Also, re: shady editing. Someone once posted a comment on a video that said Gigi Goode's snatch game could've definitely been edited as if she flopped it, but because she was a front runner, they editing it so it looked positive. That really put things into perspective for me.
For the acting the outfits are basic becuase when the parts get assigned a team makes the outfits for them, that way they fit them
But in 14+ seasons no queen has ever hinted at that. Which seems unlikely with all the T that has come out.
Also, what about the outfits of queens who get eliminated before their time by an injury? It's not like an outfit for Kornbread or Eureka would fit just anyone.
S14 girl group challenge also required specific outfits. Is your theory that those groups were also pre-determined?
Production just makes/taylors the outfits after the roles have been asigned.
@@tbbcch1039 yeah, my theory is that all girls are assigned a role at casting. Some get duplicates in the event they don't make it. Thats what made the most sense to me but I didn't think about the fact that production/a team makes the outfits which also makes sense!
They make 3 versions of each outfit and forget tailor them to fit who has the part. It's been confirmed. Some challenges they are already picked and are clear about that and they either just have the one outfit provided or they brought it.

One thing I’ve always wondered is when the queens are allowed to assign roles to the others. For example in S12 when they did the Madonna Rusical. Can’t remember who but someone who won the mini challenge was allowed to assign the roles amongst the other queens. My theory is that the costume department will have had to make the costumes for each queen in advanced before the role had been “assigned.” For example, Gigi Goode is a tall, slim queen, but Widow Von Du is more of a plus size queen. If she was given Gigi’s role, she wouldn’t have fitted into the costume made for Gigi and vice versa. So maybe it isn’t entirely random, because then the costumes wouldn’t have matched the queens that they had been made for. I know it’s the show’s costumes and not the queen’s own drag, because Sherry Pie wore a costume in that rusical, and Roxxy Andrews had been seen wearing the same one in a different season. Does anyone know anything about this?

i know they give those to the queens on set, and i do think they sometimes make a role with certain queens in mind. however im not sure, it might be possible to construct those garments in time. since the episodes are filmed over several days, if they have a pattern and the fabric ready to cut, maybe they could just take their measurements and sew it up for the next day.
or heck they could just have clothes of a few different sizes pre made, and just make little adjustments on the day.

I don't think it was set for Latrila but their entrance was CLEARLY foreshadowing of a double win that went over so many peoples heads. If you rewatch that episode in the beginning Ru drops a few subtle hints of how the season would turn out .

I've realized the planned winners and eliminations for many years. Shea was production's choice for AS5. Her Snatch Game of Love and runway look did not deserve to win, it should've been to Alexis, and I'm not even an Alexis fan.
Personally I think that Rupaul already has in mind who the winner is going to be. I also think Rupaul knows what will generate buzz whether good or bad . Case in point Season 13. Rupaul knew Kandy making it to the final 2 would cause alot of hype and so that's why that Season went the way it did.

For AS4 it was clear that Trinity was the winner (since Manila was booted) and to avoid backlash over another white winner they made it a double crown. Also. It seems the show was planning on double crowning Manila and Latrice, but we saw why that didn't end up happening.

I don't understand picking out a winner beforehand. What if they get on the show and start doing terrible in the challenges, they would eventually need to be sent home. Not saying they don't pre pick them, I just don't understand how that would work. Also why not just have the show play out as it should and have the drag queen who rightfully deserves to win, actually win? For the most part i feel like all the winners ( maybe besides a select few) did deserve to win, whether they were my top pick or not. So the whole "pre picked winner" thing is just so confusing to me.
It’s a tv show. Its literally meant to be an edited format, though probs not as bad as Instagram influencers, Twitter porn, UA-cam channels… it’s the fucking media. It’s the easiest way to build narratives and manipulate storylines. It. Is. What. It’s. Made. For. Guess what, real life is not unalterated either: conversations with your mates, job interviews, news articles, buying a car, a house, dating… all of those interactions/aspects of life have ideology, power relations, and/or some for of “manipulation” deeply embedded in them. If you want an unalterated version of life, go be an amoeba.
Overall I'm happy with the editing. I live for the shade and drama, if not... where the spice? We can at times be shocked and feel sympathy for the qweens but at the end we love and live for the good entertaining feuds. I mean is a drag show not a vatican broadcast...
I don't think the lip syncs in the finale episodes should count for nothing, but on the other hand, I definitely don't think they alone should be determinative of who wins (not that they currently are, of course). In other words, if there is a clear frontrunner based on the season so far and yet they don't do as well as the other contestant in their lip sync in the finale, I think it makes sense to advance the "losing" queen provided their performance in the lip sync wasn't terrible.
The thing is, it's not "rigged" because it doesn't have any standards or rules outside of itself. It's not basketball or the Olympics. Winning Drag Race means that the producers & judges (chiefly RuPaul) have decided that you're the winner. That's literally all it means. Does that make it fake? Only when it pretends otherwise -- when it pretends that there is an absolute set of rules, etc. But if they want to pretend something is random when it isn't, or edit something to suggest and idea, or frame something a certain way -- well, that's just the show.
It is a highly produced show, which blends the reality of the contestants with the wishes of the production team. Fans would be a lot happier if they accepted that there is no version of RPDR that is "pure" or "unproduced" -- and they probably wouldn' twant to watch it even if it did exist.

yeah but some of the queens are ‘pushed’ to say those things, for example the Roxxxy Andrew’s line on S5 “seeing you on the bottom 2” that was a response to Jinx asking her what has been her fav moment on the competition, was actually kinda rigged. Roxxxy said that producers told her to say something nasty or juicy, and since she was already so stressed for the competition, she said anything she thought it would be juicy enough for the producers to continue the ‘the villain vs the nice’ storyline
the contract says that queens have to take multiple takes of an argument if produces says it’s necessary for the tv drama so they can edit and take the best parts. btw my english is not the best but I hope the idea of the comment is understandable :)
