Fun fact: there used to be two water mills built on the falls, one at each side. On the East (park) side, there is a cut through the falls that's dammed by a wall - this was a wheel pit for the mill at this side. The pit can be seen at the far left of the falls (centre-left of the screen) at around 1:38, and the top of it can also be seen at 3:02. On the West side, the tailrace (outflow) of the mill on this side can be seen at around the 2:55 mark; in the upper-right had corner of the picture it is a roughly square tunnel in the stone below the falls. The old cast-iron water wheel is still in there; if you have a torch you can see the bottom of it from the tunnel mouth. The headrace (inlet) is also still apparent at the top of the falls but is difficult to see due to its location, the surrounding vegetation and a clogged metal grate that covers it.

A wonderful nice walk on a crisp day. It is so nice to see the people out and about again. The falls on the river look wonderful as well and it is just a peaceful thing to sit and watch a waterfall like that. Hi Castel ! Glad you enjoyed this, we like this place, but had not been there for a while. We were surprised by the numbers of people and dogs ! The result of lockdown and travel restrictions ! The season was at a strange stage also ! The daffodils were mostly past, the big trees still had no leaves, their were traces of snow on the ground and the water in the river was very low. Hi Castel ! Glad you enjoyed this, we like this place, but had not been there for a while. We were surprised by the numbers of people and dogs ! The result of lockdown and travel restrictions ! The season was at a strange stage also ! The daffodils were mostly past, the big trees still had no leaves, their were traces of snow on the ground and the water in the river was very low. I will go back, as you suggest, in high summer 😊 à bientôt! pour l'instant, applaudit Don !

Hi, yes ! Linn Park is good with its waterfall, 💦 🌳 🌲 ☀️ 🚶♂️ full lockdown was still in place, all shops, cafes and restaurants shut. The parks were used well for exercising. Cheers, Don

Yes the City parks are big and good, they were former private estates, so are classically landscaped from a couple of hundred years ago. A lot of people in the City live in apartments. Hi Don. This is really a beautiful park and indeed a lot of people walking and excersising their dogs there. Therefore I am glad living in the countryside, having enough room to walk our doggy. The little river and the water falls are wonderful and you captured it so well on camera. 👏👍
