The Dapper Dans invited us to sing for them after having just done a fantastic show themselves. What you don't see in this video is how warmly they complimented us after we sang. To a man, they could not have been nicer. We were honored to meet them.
The Dapper Dans were incredibly kind to us. In fact, they asked us to sing them a song after we watched them perform their set on Main Street, which by the way was fantastic. They were very gracious to us and in no way were they anything but kind and warm. We hung around for as long as we could just chatting and getting to know these great guys! Brandon Guyton
get CROSSROADS on the grammys so that their amazing talent can be heard by the whole country. They are the best Barbershop 4 that has ever been in the recent history, and this country needs good traditional music again!
They lock every chord. Awesome quartet. It's like they grabbed one guy from my fav. barbershop groups and made this super quartet of great singers and nice guys. great vid.
All I can say, Jim, is that I wish I was on mainstreet the same time you guys were that day. I'm upset I didn't even see the dapper dans my whole holiday let alone crossroads. You guys were amazing at the LDJ can't wait to see more. Tim
All I know is I have never seen a dapper dans quartet that rang chords like that or sang music that entertaining. Crossroads is quickly becoming my favorite quartet.
Man, what an AWESOME performance, and a great group. I love how the overtones start to just ring out as the bass slides down to tonic. Awesome job, Crossroads! Keep it up!
i came over to disneyworld from england for about 2 weeks and i just managed to catch the labor day jamboree, these guys kicked ass, this is the song that stuck in my head, the lead trill before the post is sick. now i'm just ticked i never saw anyone from the whole show walking round disney!
I was incredibly impressed with Crossroads at LDJ this year (I even got a T-Shirt). I'm hoping someone took some videos of the performances this weekend. I'd love to see them again!
If these guys don't clean house at International next year those judges will have been on crack! LOL! - Totally amazing and Mike's lead is just.. dreamy! So effortless and sincere... AWESOME music and AWESOME guys!!
(con't) kinds of guests out of the many millions who visit the parks each year. Have you ever seen the Humdingers (dappers performing outside of Disney) on a show? They are always received warmly because of how entertaining they are to a chapter show audience...in case you didn't figure it out...it's about entertainment, not just singing. These comments are only meant to help other barbershoppers understand what dapper dans really do.
Actually, the dapper quartet that was on that day, none of them are even society members. You have to remember that just because those performers cast in the dapper dans of main street USA show (yes, it is a SHOW...complete with slapstick vaudeville humor, playing of deagan organ chimes, and tap dancing) sing barbershop style music, does not mean that they are all "barbershoppers" in your sense or understanding of the term.
On behalf of everybody, I would like to congratulate our fellow redditors in this video. Well done redditors and keep up the good work showing all non-redditors how its done!
It is a show cast by a Disney casting director that you have to first audition for (possibly along with hundreds of other people) with a solo. These are professional entertainers who do the job they were cast for out of hundreds to thousands of auditionees, and do the job very well. The truth is (that many barbershoppers do not realize) is that the dappers are not all about singing - it is a show that should have great singing, but complete with so much other entertainment that it attracts all
so i got an email saying a couple people responded to my comment, and come here to check it out and see that my comment is no longer up....fantastic!!!!
@bgbari I know it was a long time ago, but I'm really curious about how you we're given the opportunity to sing for them? What events led up to this amazing tune?
Well, I got a 68 out of 100 on that test. Now that's a B/C, or B- or C+ depending on your school. Not exactly what I was hoping for. But I wouldn't have had it any other way.

You're a genius, sir, presuming you ever see this.

wow! you guys are too good - I would have taken the opportunity to take them down a few notches. respect!
You guys are absolutely incredible! By the way, is it you who sing the top note at the end of the song?
Greetings from a fan from Norway!

I bet the Dapper Dan's were like, "Oh shoot, they are going to take our jobs". Priceless, so cool to be able to do something like this.

My god these men have ture talent, I like to sing and these guys give me hope to let my voice be herd.
All I know is I have never seen a dapper dans quartet that rang chords like that or sang music that entertaining. Crossroads is quickly becoming my favorite quartet.
So it's either watch these guys or study for an Econ test, so naturally, I sync-ed up the two videos of this and it made a pretty cool blend of tones.
Hope you passed your test bro

Love their version!
A "throw down" with the Dapper Dans"! Who'd have thunk!?!?!
LOVE THE TAG!!!
Legitimately the best thing on UA-cam. Just fantastic.
Still creepy seeing Dan's name around. I went to high school with him and sang with him in chorus. Brilliant guy.
@bgbari You guys are really top notch. Your sound is so warm and round, i love it! I hope to hear more from you!
Holy fuck.

Could have been worse - the crowd might have started clapping in unison to the songs like crowds of doucehbags always do.
Joy! Cheer joy! Mmmm, mmmm...
HAHAHA teachin the dapper dans a thing or two!!! haha this made me smile so hard!
Love the BEARS t-shirt, Fred!

Anyone else saw the other point of view?
Thank you for being people.
I said it in the other version of this vid, but I'll say it again...
Last chord...the overtones....Lord, the overtones!!
The Dapper Dans are probably thinking..."Oh Crap. Better start looking for a new gig!"
haha, standing there crossing their arms..
great job on the tag Jim!

@bgbari I know it was a long time ago, but I'm really curious about how you we're given the opportunity to sing for them? What events led up to this amazing tune?
@pricefan2007 yes he was.
the guy in the black shirt looks like my music appreciation teacher
Did you know there's an overtone at the last chord...
If it aint that, then it is like the Jet's and the Sharks from West Side Story...rival gangs who are trying to protect their turf!
there is...in the other video somewhere in youtube there is...
in here...you can faintly hear it...
@SnoopyAndTheMouse He isn't bowing, he's putting something down so his hands are free to clap =p
It's so hard to hear the baritone in barbershop. A lot of times I try to listen to just that.
dude i know exactly what you mean
@mikipak123 Check out Dan Wrights version, it's a half step higher but it might be easier to distinguish the different parts

Wasn't the bass singer in "The Gas House Gang"?
pricefan2007 Yes he was, that would be Jim Henry.
Where did that comment come from?
its either watch these guys or write up a lab... hm... what should i do....
OP
also the cast member stood with the dapper dans looks really angry/bored
rekt.
no offense, but no, we're not thinking that.
Not the best venue WRT acoustics.
That was furiously gay.
The ignorance is strong within this one.
