I love these videos where you do kids craft kits because I LOVED those growing up and I remember how some of them were so frustrating and I feel so validated when I watch adult you struggle the same way I know kid (and adult) me would've struggled with the same craft kit. And I used to love looking at all the kits but my parents usually wouldn't buy them for me so I feel like I'm getting to live my childhood craft store dreams vicariously through you LOL
I reviewed the paper circle bowl kit on my channel back in 2020, during the pandemic lockdown. I used a process of putting glue on only one side of the circles and applying them to the bowl, then putting glue over them when I had all the circles on the bowl. I had trouble with the circles moving when I put on the glue while they were on the bowl, but I was able to counteract that by applying the glue in a dabbing motion to one circle at a time. I let the bowl dry for 24 hours and it worked just fine--you do NOT need to let it dry for 5 days. I also recommend having baby wipes handy when you do this kit so that you can wipe off your hands periodically. I enjoyed seeing somebody else do the kit and have a different experience than I had. Good video!
The frustration is real. Still, the bowls were all nice looking. Also, thank you to the mighty algorithm for introducing me to your channel. I really like your sense of humor.
Reminds me of Threadbanger. They tried making all those crafts you see on the internet that look so great but don't actually work in real life. They attempted to make so many bowls lol. The most ridiculous was the sand bowl. Or maybe the button bowl. If that channel taught me anything, it's that diy bowls rarely ever work. They either fall apart or end up floppy and useless.

There's NOTHING more frustrating to a well-intentioned mama than helping her child struggle through these STUPID craft kits!!! Honestly, they ALL make one wonder if anyone ever actually tests these things before putting them on the store shelves. Mama loses her patience, the kids are angry and/or crying (depending on the age of the kids and the craft kit.) They're nearly universally a dismal failure. I appreciate those willing to struggle through it so the rest of us don't have to! 😂 Also, I actually really liked the orange, brown & turquoise string bowl. ❤
You know what you could do to make the thread bowls harder? You could dip the string in a mod podge type solution before you swirl it around on the mold and then that way when it dries hopefully it'll dry a little harder because the thread will have been soaked through with the mod podge.
I found your channel through one of your craft kit videos being in my recommended, and I'm so glad I did! Not only are these super relaxing and satisfying to watch, but I always feel watching someone be productive and create something makes me productive, somehow, lol. Mod Podge actually has a string bowl project. You can use any form that will pop out. For the paper bowl, you just wet the paper, then paint glue onto the bowl. It should lay flat. Don’t put glue on the paper. (Mod Podge also has this project.

Kinda like when you work with leather and need to mold it to a certain shape, so you soak the leather for a while first. The question about Craft Tastic and Craft Crush, but both being Play Monster, it’s probably similar to Michael’s and formerly Aaron Brothers, craft lines like Freestyle and Artist Loft. One is for kids and one is more adult friendly. Just an assumption, as the paper bowl kit looks more like it’s targeted to kids, and the thread bowl looks like an adult version of a similar craft.

When you were explaining the first kit that you did I had the idea from the beginning that you should wet the circles. I foresaw that being a problem LOL
Also, while not cute crafts. I thought it might be fun to tell you about a company that it feels like not a lot of people know about. It's hard to tell in the video, but it almost looks like the thick paper/cardboard discs they included with the paper bowl are kinda shiny? Like a glossy magazine paper almost. And I cannot for the life of me figure out why the craft kit creators went with super thick and stiff paper that ALSO appears to have a semi-impermeable coating. What a waste. I feel like construction paper and mod podge would be easier to work with lol
@@RoseRequinCrafts Eugh! That sounds decidedly unpleasant to try a smoosh on to a rounded surface 😟 They don't put a lot of care in to their craft kits, do they?
Also it clearly said that there wasn't supposed to be used to put food but yet they still put food in these bowls it is not good plus they are not food safe items
Of course you know there are WAAAYYYYYY easier to make these things. tissue paper and wall paper glue will make you a washable anything, bowl, mask, monster box, monster. You are right to throw it all. What a waste. Same for the thread...
Ive never heard of or thought of wallpaper glue, of course I understand why it exists but it's never crossed my mind! How would you recommend you do something like this? :)
@@MackenzieNerdyEMT Hi - the problem with the kits is the thick paper and the unknown glue. Wall paper paste is a very heavy paste that you can hand mix and it takes very little powder to water because you're not hanging wall paper. You should use thin paper like an old phone book if you can get on or tissue paper or napkins. You can either make a pulp by soaking the paper in water and molding it on a bowl or paper box or plastic box or else layer it by putting glue on the mold and not on the paper. Then layer it. All those cracks and open spaces can easily be flattened. Sometimes I put a tiny bit oil on the mold and the mold can be anything such as a mushroom box, aluminum tray, anything where you can cut or rip off the mold. If you make a pulp you can mold it and then layer paper over it. I made many many things this way.

New to your channel. You remind me of Moriahs twin sister lol. I’ve been binge watching!
Oh thank you!
GLUE a thread bowl upside down on the bottom of the largest paper bowl so it has a FLAT bottom. Then it might actually be usable.
watched this high best decision ever I LOVE YOU 🩷🩷
I wonder if your community has a free bin or something
This is paper mache you can make almost anything with it
I am highly upset i know for facts ive been your sib since like 76 subs but today no notifucations or nothing but i went to check your page and i was no longer a sub with no notifications i heard some other artist say this was happening to their subs too but ive pushed my buttons and back on the creative adventure train😂
Thats so weird. I'm glad you like me enough to search me out and re-sub. 🥳
@@RoseRequinCrafts every sunday im on the hunt lol! I love your down home attitude about things
The best way I could describe it is like they punched circles out of a kleenex box. It was that thickness and that sort of semi-glossy.
@@RoseRequinCrafts Eugh! That sounds decidedly unpleasant to try a smoosh on to a rounded surface 😟 They don't put a lot of care in to their craft kits, do they?
Noooo! How dare you!! You washed your hands instead of peeling the dried glue??? You monster !hahah
I tried! I tried rubbing my hands together and making the little glue balls and everything. This stuff was not having it! It stayed goopy.
Hmm. As with many craft kits, the idea is fine, but the execution could use a little... tweaking
Your nails are mesmerizing… Holo Taco?
Yep!
Eewww finger painting with snot 😵💫
🤣
Also it clearly said that there wasn't supposed to be used to put food but yet they still put food in these bowls it is not good plus they are not food safe items
I didn't put any food in the bowl. I put binder clip, rings and erasers in them.
Wow. I really hope she has other videos that she doesn’t spend the whole time complaining about absolutely everything. This was really a downer to listen to.
I accidentally disliked the video! 😂😂 I fixed it.
WHY are these kits aimed towards kids - they seem to aggravate the heck out of ADULTS.
Interesting but she does not need to add sound effects like tapping nails etcetera
