    1:46:34 For the people who can't follow the [].reduce method explained in the video it's bc OP made a mistake.
    Calcul step 1:
    accumulator = 0
    current = 1
    Calcul step 2:
    accumulator = 1
    current = 2
    Calcul step 3:
    accumulator = 3
    current = 3
    Calcul step 4:
    accumulator = 6
    current = 4
    Calcul step 5:
    accumulator = 10
    current = 5
    Final result = 15.
    Otherwise the result should have been 16.

    I have a DOUBT!
    In this video,
    - at 02:35:08 we have @line#14
    const [anna, mariam, joe] = names;
    // This creates constant variables anna, mariam and joe and assigns them the first three values in the array.
    BUT,
    - at 03:22:12 we have @line# 29
    const [names, surnames] = data;
    // This creates two sub-arrays of the array 'data' where each have half the elements.
    What is different here in the 2nd case?

    I think it's great that you've tried to teach JavaScript for use in a commercial environment (i.e. using the react app to run the code) and not just taught like most. Where it's just a case of using a standard text editor or VS Code and predominantly, writing code and then simply outputting the results in the web browser console window. Which yes can be useful but certainly not how one would run code in a production environment. So, kudos to you Nelson for teaching the language from a different perspective. :-)

    • @amigoscode
      @amigoscode  4 роки тому +2

      Thanks Ben. Yes this course is more about the language

      @@amigoscode And you certainly did a very good job at doing that Nelson. Just finished the course. Learnt a lot of new content, as well as refreshed my knowledge of basic and OOP JavaScript. Alongside your upcoming react.js course, I think that it would be great if you could also teach us both Vue and Angular. That way, knowing the three main libraries/frameworks in JavaScript. Thanks though for taking the time and effort on doing this course. :-)

    For people who have a bunch of errors in "npm install" run git Bash as an administrator and type in this command "npm install -g windows-build-tools", preferably restart your computer after it

    What is the "terminal" part you talk about in the beginning when setting everything up? I have nodeJS and everything. I am working on Windows 10 so I have tried typing these things in Command Prompt. I want to be able to follow along, but I can't even figure that part out haha. Do you have a separate video on how to do those things?

    Amazing course. Very easy to understand. Love your explaining style.
    One correction:
    When explaining Reduce, i think you made a mistake of taking 1 as accumulator and adding the same 1. But if the first element of array is taken as accumulator AND current, it is double counted and that's why that method produces 16 instead of 15.
    First element here should either be thought of as the accumulator itself and 'current' will be the next (2 here). Or we can think:
    * accumulator 0, so 1 is current. Then 1 is accumulator and 2 is current.
    Do correct me if i misunderstood. Just putting in my obsrrvation here.
    Really appreciate the course! Thanks a lot.

    If some one is having issue with npm install or npm run devserver. Follow these steps
    1. Remove the node_modules complete folder and remove the package-lock.json file
    2. Clear npm cache by using command npm cache clean. you can force to clean if gives error
    3. Install and then rebuild node-sass
    npm install node-sass@latest
    npm rebuild node-sass
    4. npm i
    I have not started the course yet because of this error and I really don't want to miss this guy course

    49:00 - my point is, that "var" has its own lexical environment, and once you describe result as a sum of n1+n2, then result is already declared, and there`s no need to assign function to var again after declaring a function. You can just invoke it.
    am I right?

    Hey, in general your tutorials are all really good, no jumping or skipping and easy to follow. So as I see you improving your tutorials over time, I want to give some constructive criticism. I understand its probably meant as javascript basics but I really think you should but more work into all the async part, starting from promises. You kind of flew over it, not giving much explanation, examples and so on. For example you had reject triggered by time not an actual error, no external or internal trigger with if-else and so on. It is I think one of the hardest parts of javascript - promises and callbacks. Not so many tutorials explain them well - why one is better than other or where they are actually used, how chaining works with ones output being the nexts input and so on. I have experience with plain java, so the first part of this course was super easy but on the second part I had to go and see other tutorials and explanations. Eventually came back to this video and had some perspective, this is why I made this comment. GL and tnx for your tutorials though!
