We need Teddy back on Fight Night asap asap!!
They don't want Teddy there because he argues alot with the fighters. A bit of an ego thing I think on his part, because he basically has to share the spotlight. TBH, they could just have him and Joe Tessitore like always but choose not to. I like Bradley and Ward, and they do a good job, but it's not the same. Plus I think they want to push agendas, and Teddy's not really with that. Bradley and Ward will go along a little bit, but Teddy's less likely to heap gushing praises on fighters he's not feeling. Kriegel and Tessitore do that really badly now, and Bradley and Ward try to temper it. Teddy would obliterate it, and they want to market / "hype" fighters not tell the truth.
Holyfield the first one I can recall, putting on stones of pure muscle. The media and mills lane loved him though for his God talk.
wayne gilroy Gained 20 lbs in a year. Lost his hair. Started having heart problems. No one even accused him! Holyfield was the most obvious cheater I’ve ever seen.
God talk and being baby daddy to many kids , I always viewed him as a hypocrite, ton of guts but still sexually out-of-control
Im not Sure if Wilder is not on steroids as well. No mass, often wrong technique while throwing shuts, so how then he is generating all the Power?? Yeah i heard punchers are born not made but this guy has broken any normality even among legendary punchers, this is way too freaky if you ask me !!!
Parabase Parabase No, there is a reason when ya look at his build i get it, i dont know if i can fully explain it well tho, but i see it, but you are right sometimes they are weird akward punches that land, he has power, that being said, it could also be because his opponents dont have the strongest chins. Combined with born power puncher, a lot of it is his reach. Im a power puncher guy with long arms too, my left jabs are some peoples rights, but it comes at the cost of precision, kind of like a 45 ACP bullet inside a tommy gun, the power makes up for the precision. Who cares if you it the guys guard and miss his face when your punch that hit his guard hurts and is breaking with each one that connects, Wilder just 1, 2s, 1, 2s, and finishes with that 2. Mike Tyson was also a guy who could break through guards, though in quite different energetic fashion he would break through solid guards or chipping away, hitting every part of the body till the oyster shell split.
Played with a kid whose father used to get him stimulants to play and train. He also got them a bronchial aspirator which at the time was legal. This kid had an average skill set but he had on unlimited endurance it was frightening how active he could remain no matter how long the competition continued. He actually had his first stroke at the age of 33. And then had his final stroke at the age of 39. It’s amazing how important a dumb game seems when you’re a young adult and you think you have no other options God it’s a shame that youth is wasted on the young we need to start listening to the older people around us. Athletics are given too much credit in our society a guy can hit a ball or fight is given more social acceptance that a man who one day might operate on you or your kid I am over 50 and it only starts making sense to me recently
After graduating high school in the 80s I was invited to a division one college for an unofficial try out. After a pretty successful skate I was asked what I like to participate in a out of season training with some other players of course I said yes there was an eight week break before I would start the training. So I went into some serious dryland training in preparation of going to train with this organization. I tore my Achilles tendon 10 days before I was to possibly Going to receive a scholarship to a division one college my heart was destroyed. I notified them what happened they said good luck and then they would like to hear from me in a year. Eight months later the ligament was repaired and I was going to go north and play some junior hockey. I was offered performance-enhancing drugs and I took every single one available because of the eight moth lay off Let me Telya this is 30 years ago these things work and they work well
Imagine how advanced they are now with the top boxers aj fury wilder and canelo
Five minutes in, and Teddy finds a way to bash Tyson. Meanwhile, if it weren't for Mike's success in the ring, nobody would even give a crap about Teddy's boxing opinions. His disdain for Iron Mike completely diminishes his ability to be an objective analyst.
Awesome point of view I love Teddy’s straight forward to the point no bs approach !!!!!
Great, great, great job Teddy! Boxing should start having mandatory testing or year round testing for active boxers
UFC has it and people like brendan schaub just hate on it. IMO it seems like it is working really well in the UFC.
@Miles Davidson I hope the sanctioning bodies of boxing come together one day (sooner rather than later) and come to some type of agreement as to what should be the norm for testing in boxing and acknowledge the real everyday risks involved.
@Miles Davidson Since USADA they test for EPO 30-40% of the time, but fighters never know. Just look at some videos of Floyd or Canelo weighing in. They have needle marks all over their body, in the middle of their abs and shit. In locations, that if you were using steroids, that is where you are supposed to inject. If Jarell Miller was caught in the UFC I think he would be banned for life, because of 3 failed tests (EPO, HGH, and something else). For the UFC champ that fail TJ, he got a 2 year suspension and they went back and retroactively tested some of his samples. Boxing can be cleaned up they just need a promoter who gives a shit about how the sport looks.
@@M-O-ZNot an expert but ua-cam.com/video/PkMGzV4sUyk/v-deo.html . This looks strange
Canelo is the main one doping up
I dont know about that. I cant really name an American champ at any sport who isnt/wasn't suspect.
@Mikejk Smith I'm talking all sports. I think it's just generally accepted over there. 3 month bans in gridiron, Lance Armstrong, Marion Jones, Tyson Gay, Carl Lewis, Billy Bonds, Flo Jo, Evander Holyfield.. Mike Tyson has admitted he was on drugs throughout his career.
They sacked the head of anti doping because he exposed the people covering up the positives.
America is every bit as bad as Russia for it.
@Vernel Richardson I think Wilder is suspect as fuck.
He lost 25lbs as soon as he entered VADA testing.
Look at boxrec.
Love the honesty teddy, please never change
Great conversation guys. Keep up the great work and yes teddy I said great because I love boxing and you guys are great on this channel. Thanks and keep it up
Teddy is motivating. I bet hea has given this speech on "fear" to a few boxers he's trained.
Anyone else think Teddy’s mic isn’t as good as the other guy’s?
same mic, just the levels are off. thats whats happens when you dont have the phones on. its hard to check it, unless there is someone else in the background on it
Glad this show came up on my feed i never seen one before. But its pretty entertaining! Just subbed thanks!
Teddy is spot in on all issues here! This man has empathy because he has seen the fear of even the greatest men in their eyes.
I appreciate these talks boys! Challenging the nonsense that goes on
“Loaded gloves” used to get you a lifetime ban. Now guys like Margarito get another chance. Loaded muscles are just as bad.
Anyone with common sense could tell Holyfield was on steroids..
And he was so dumb that his pseudonym for prescriptions was Evan Fields 🤣😂🤣😂😭
They test people at the right time unless you piss the top people off then they test you in a positive phase! All top athletes use peds period!!!
Atleast 80 to 90 percent of them except paulie malginaggimagic man with pillow hands
Hahaha lolo!! Good one and true about Paulie; I think he was on estrogen😎!
UFC got stringent drug testing "people at the top didn't get pissed off"?
Supposedly they’ve always been strict about PEDS!!!!! Yes, this sport and all sports have a political side to them !!!! I know, the average joe doesn’t believe it but it’s a fact! If you piss off your boss shit will happen to you !! You piss off or don’t play ball with higher ups they will f with you!!! In government, jobs, boxing and any other sport or field, there are hierarchies and politics to everything!!! Hmmm when are you talking about them barely getting strict? Only time I knew about PEDs being normal was in the Arnold era 60’s ... and soon after banned from any sport!!! All these top elites take PEDs!!! Look even Armstrong was on PEDs !!! Go figure!!! If you are a top athlete and not on PEDs then you won’t be a top athlete period!!!
Well, if a boxer or any top competitor is not on PEDS, then they would not be at the top period! I mean Armstrong the bicyclist was on the PEDs what more should I say???!!!!
The first thing you have to do is get an agreement between the different bodies and Anti doping agencies as to what can be used in comp, out of comp, etc etc. It's no good trying to sort out doping in boxing when different bodies/agencies totally disagree as to what substances can be used when.
I was on EPO. When my primary care physician took my blood test, she said my blood looks like ragu sauce. I got off of it right away.
Tell it like it is Teddy! Blessings ever from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
And not one time ALEXANDER POVETKIN was mentioned 🤫🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
He did say “without naming names look at some of the recent heavyweights that have been caught”. He must have been talking about povetkin but didn’t wanna name names
Great podcast. You earned a New Sub.
Teddy's an icon! Love the way he just calls it as he see's it! Big up! 👏👏👏
Hope teddy starts to get more viewers talking truth yet again he deserves alot more than 14k
Great conversation ..all GREAT points made from two guys who know their stuff excellent job... BUT what I want to know is what was that cool piece of guitar music at the start who is it by i keep rewinding because its giving me a hard-on :) :)
Good interview
Teddy 1000% in words.
Each Sanctioning Body should be required to provide Health insurance and 401k
So true. Tedy knows boxing better than everyone
GREAT PODCAST! Teddy atlas the GOAT
When will people remember Canelo got caught doping.
Aniq we're corrupt, your corrupt...the only difference is that we're honest about it.lol.from the movie"get the gringo".
And when will people remember floyd getting caught by USADA for using IV fluid???
Brilliant podcast talking truth love it
Excellent point, guys coming up in smaller non title fight cards are not getting tested.
Teddy's microphone sounds like it's either backwards or turned off and we're just hearing from the other mic. Fix it!
Simple please would go a long way lol Who the f*ck are you barking an order at the people providing you entertainment FOR FREE ugh
@@JustMeELC
Shut up lil bitch, it's not teddy who is plugging the microphone, they probably have someone getting paid to take care of the technical stuff and he goofed!
And no, it wasn't because he was far from the mic. Compare this episode to any other and the difference is astronomical.
Teddy is right with everything he said.
@Don Riller Pacquiao definitely was on steroids at some point. Teddy said it. Paulie said it. Everyone in the boxing world knows it. Btw, Floyd has done some shady things too with his IV which probably contained masking agents.
Pro boxing is ruled by a bunch of unaccountable private businesses - there is no incentive for them to stop PED use apart from the welfare of the boxers - which is why none of them doing anything except window dressing and PR regarding real random drug testing.
“The use of performance enhancing drugs is rampant in boxing, particularly at the elite level,” Victor Conte.
It's amazing canelo was even caught. It's obvious he's geared up but I'd never think they'd let him get caught
@@deadarmd It's not that amazing once you remember that it was his opponent who pushed for a stringent random testing regime. Much like Joshua insists upon. Boxers signed up to the WBC clean boxing program are not subject to random tests - so can cycle on and off. Indeed the vast majority of boxers signed up to it have never been tested. Even once.
VADA are plainly honest brokers but boxing in the US should be under the authority of USADA - like most other sports - where random testing is the norm.
@@sonlyme4445 no you misunderstood me. I didn't think Oscar and all that push canelo has would ever let him get caught. They let judges *obviously* fix scorecards for him. There's been 4 scorecards in canelo fights that are just plain unacceptable imo. Much like Mayweather who has 12 going back to Castillo. Boxing is corrupt bc unless there's a stoppage they have their star win. It's been that way since I can remember in certain weight classes. It's why guys like Tyson were so popular because even when he won close fights (Tucker, Rudduck) he obviously won them. Or he stopped the guy.
I simply didn't think theyd ever let canelo get caught. You brought up Joshua and he talks a good game, but I won't put it past anyone, especially the HW white Knight of a boxing nation starved for a champ since the loss of Lewis.
@@deadarmd My point is the current state of non random testing allows powerful promoters to 'protect' certain stars. A regime of random WADA protocol testing removes this ability. Hence positive results even for stars. The WBC clean boxer program isn't random and as such is open to abuse. The other sanctioning bodies don't even have an anti-drug protocol or process. That is where professional boxing is. In the gutter.
Such a wise man... respect for Teddy
Why is Shane Mosley's win against De La Hoya still recognized and credited even though he admitted he was on PEDs?!
Really great podcast guys thank u for your time! Subscribed.
Holyfield was as walking steroid.
Teddy, I’m a great admirer who wants to hear EVERYTHING you have to say. Please adjust your mic. I don’t want to miss a thing.
Fear and anxiety will drive some people to quit fear and anxiety drives other people to train hard prepare hard so there are no regrets I think anxiety is it under estimated tool in all forms of competition it can be a positive influence if explained to the athlete
This channel is like a unknown dream come true I never knew how much I wanted this till now
Teddy Atlas - The last of a dying breed.
We're in July and did Miller even receive an offical ban (outside of the WBA short ban)?
Teddy Atlas spiting TRUTHS
wouldn't be a atlas interview without at least one jab at tyson
Intimidación can be a tactic too, the battle is won before it is fought, alot of boxing greats talked shit to get in their oponents head l think thats part of the fight game too right?
He had to throw jab at Mike Tyson
@@bluemoonmcfcfans4754 real rap he needs to leave Mike alone he apologized and Teddy still throws shots at him every chance he gets
You can love him or hate him, but Teddy always tells it as it is. I personally love him.
Not true. He acts like a dickhead at times. Still bitter over Tyson
@@bluemoonmcfcfans4754 he was spot on on Tyson too. The greatest when the intimidation bit was effective, not so much when facing a boxer who wasn't scared, took it on the chin and fought back. It's not by chance that he's never lost a decision but always got knocked out. He wasn't mentally strong enough to whether the storm and come back to win a fight, which is what Teddy has always pointed out.
Teddy should be getting more love instead of just a balance between the two. At least in my opinion…
Good reporting in a....no expenses spared studio!
Cleeeeeeeeeennnnnnneeeelllloooooo!!!!
What about Saunders who fought the other day.
I'm a physician and I've worked with athletes in the past. After a while, you can spot a testosterone, PED user from a mile away. I don't know what the rules are. But If a fighter has low testosterone leves, he may be able to get his medication prescribed to keep him at optimum levels legally. Not sure if that's how boxing rules are now, but I'd say the MAJORITY OF BOXERS ARE DIRTY. They don't need to look it, some do other don't. Remember when Margarito fought pacman, it took him 3 times to try to beat him and on the very last try, he came in looking like a heavily chemically enhanced version of him self with acne all over his back and had testosterone ozzing out his pores. I think Steroids and PED started making their way into boxing early on. Even pacman. Floyd mayweather spent so much time raging on how pacman was big, but when they fought, i can clearly see that Floyd was hitting that Growth Hormone when he took off. He was visbily bigger in density and muscular.
I honestly think there’s an argument that can be made that suggests that will allow boxers to juice up again. Boxing was at its peak from the 80’s to late 90’s and everyone was probably on something at one point or another. The same goes for other sports like baseball.
This was from last year and Miller tested hot again and again says he is innocent. 6 times hot as an MMA guy, and then 2x as a Boxer.
Keep the PEDs in the UFC please, thanks.
why isnt anyone talkinga bout canelo doing PED and getting busted... he looked doped up against jacobs..
teddy is the only real thing left in boxing
Teddy the voice of boxing Atlas with his wealth of experience and expertise why isn't he a chief boxing commissioner? 🤔 To the rest of the world it just doesn't make sense..🙄
Boxing needs a Judge Kennesaw Mountain Landis. Boxing management now is like how baseball was in 1919 ... only then it was players throwing games
Teddy atlas always speaking truth.
Does anyone else say the title in teddy's voice when you read the title.
Boxing desperately needs to form a league.
Teddy if you see this please get closer to the mic when you talk. It gets hard to hear you at times
Love him or hate him Teddy Atlas tells it like it is.
Subbed
Teddy Atlas the Goat!
This guy Teddy Atlas is an impressive man. Very intelligent
Teddy Atlas is the Aristotle of boxing.
straight shooters!! I like this.. no beating around the bush
Glad u called it Teddy.. Canelo was/is on it!
All top athletes are on PEDS period!!!! They bust who they want to bust so they shouldn’t puss off top people in the business!!!
@@jacobariworld5350 maybe but for these fucking teddy cocksuckers only Canelo is on peds
@@jacobariworld5350 Evander Holyfield got away with murder. He was a roid junky, but because he was an Olympic Champion, they gave him a free pass.
Hi guys I know Teddy isn't up on the technology of e-mail etc so I thought I would try and contact him through here as I know someone will pass the message on. I am currently writing a book and there is a chapter in there on facing fear. It's a book on sports development and I know Teddy touched on fear in this podcast but I would love to hear how he goes about getting his fighters, especially the younger ones to cope with the fear inside. Keep up the great work and I look forward to hearing from you soon :-)
I think because boxing isn't considered family sport to watch that's why their is a bias to ignore issues in it. Because showing concern for it is like legitimizing violence.
damn the actually got caught off guard by 'He's dirty!' and jumped a bit lol
sir they should implement counselling as part of the sport also,,
I don't like the idea of TAKING 1 or 2 percent of the big fight purses for pensions of much smaller boxes (I hate the idea of theft), but I would love to see it put in place and let the big fight boxers (and promoters) have the OPTION.. ie: a VOLUNTARY' contribution to the pension fund for others !
Realist 19.30 seconds we will here when we're talking boxing
Holyfield was the worst for peds
You guys need to get Crawford on here, even if its just a skype call or something. Love the show.
Remember Fury got caught doping and got suspended after the Klitschko fight
Managers and Promoters will not allow this to happen
Historically, boxing is a great sport. But also, historically we understand what boxing was and still is ran by. So I just feel like the people in that sport need to step up and make changes but as I know when something historically bad people want to live in a bubble and believe that everything is okay when in actuality is not
He got 7 Million for the Wilder fight though and was tested throughout so I like you guys but you were wrong about Ortiz in this situation.
Teddy Atlas has forgot more about boxing that all the UK Sky commentry put together ! Teddy the most Honest Real guy in the World of Boxing ! A CLASS ACT !!!!!!
So Brassille got knocked the duck out. But he did turn up to fight.
He did come packed with intention, just not the skill set required. Best wishes for your future Dominic
Can we get teddy to speak in to the mike?
Teddy simply will not allow the interviewer speak at all!! ..lol.. Anytime he tries to speak, Teddy cuts him off and starts yelling over him 😂 ..at least, until the end.
The cohost of this show has an old timey Irish boxer look to him. Similar to Jack Dempsey.
Miller pussied out Joshua was willing to still fight him even after he failed 2 tests on the condition that he passed a third test and he still fail pretty much confirming it was intentional use to get out of the fight.
Big Baby Miller is just what his nickname implies
He always finds a way to attempt to shit on Tyson’s name/legacy
Teddy is right where the hell are them people.
... He just look at Joshua and said I'm gonna do steroids as well
PS4LIFE GAMER Brock Lesner never tested dirty either but we know he was using.
So which one is Holyfield, Teddy?
Get caught ONCE! Suspension
Get caught twice! You're done. Life time ban!!!
YES!
Philly Phreak!!!: I like the logic behind your proposal. Nobody should be outright banned, especially if said participant has never been popped for anything close to "P.E.D." usage. A hefty fine, and a specified amount of time where said participant can't fight. Which really means make money. If they're caught again, then they obviously didn't learn their lesson and would continue to "cheat" and should be banned. A step in the right direction at least. Have to have a dialogue to get it started.
Dead right!
i agree
PHILLY PHREAK!!! If UFC implementrd that there would be no UFC lol
