    Kudos for the advice and care taken in proper disposal of the sludge. The pieces turned out very interesting, maybe even for a mosaic project.

    I have been tumbling for years and just happened upon this video. Since you are only running this for 24 hours you can reuse the sludge and water for a couple more runs of your ceramic. You have barely worn any of the grit after 24 hrs. Normally takes 7 to 10 days to break down grit. Save you a bit of money on grit.

    This was so neat to see!! You could even make like a mosaic art piece with it too, if you accidentally broke enough colors. Loved the lamp idea.

    Very beautiful. I especially like the idea of using it for vase filler. A different alternative to flattened glass marbles.

    I love this idea of tumbled ceramic plate! I never liked the idea of using just broken pieces of plate in a mosaic art piece or for a mosaic table, as I was worried about the sharp edges. Tumble ceramic plate would be a fanatic look in any mosaic piece of art! Great video!

    Hi, Mitch! Wow! Such a fantastic way to repurpose broken dishes. The end result was gorgeous. The tumbler did a great job on the
    broken pieces. I really enjoyed your wonderful explanation of this process and thank you for giving us some different options for
    disposing of the liquid used in the tumbler. Good to know it isn’t safe to go down the drain. I loved all your ideas for the glass. Supremely beautiful dear friend.
    Wonderful share. Blessings to you. Have a beautiful day.🥰🌻🍂🍁

    It would work with handmade pottery too, right? I have been saving my broken handmade pottery for a friend who was interested in making mosaics, but she has enough for now. When I saw that broken pottery could be tumbled in a rock tumbler and wouldn't take as long as ordinary stones and rough gemstones, I started imagining that I'd found something else I could do with my "scraps."

    • @MitchAndPhilip
      @MitchAndPhilip  8 місяців тому

      Yes, though you may have to adjust the tumbling times for different types of clay, (porcelain versus stoneware). Thank you for watching and commenting!

      @@MitchAndPhilip I’m making jewelry with my dishes. I cut circles with my drill press but now I am taking the leftovers and breaking them and tumbling for jewelry and filler like you did. Results were great! Thank you again…. FYI some dishes are “painted”. They come out blank! So I’m learning.. those i smooth with my dremel but I will do something with the now white pieces!!
