One correction: Overall mileage u get on long ride is around 25-27 depending on riding style. This is based on feedback from some friends who own this bike.
I have owned the interceptor for over 4 years. Never got an efficiency below 22 in Bangalore traffic and around 28-30 on highways. The lovely low end torque helps here and you dont really need to rev above 4k rpm
Agree..at 4000 rpm in 6th you are doing 100+ kmph..
Plus it's air cooled so hassle free
The chain doesn't lose tension even after a 7k km ladakh trip..
Only weak links are seat, handling ergos and front forks
Is it worth it in bangalore bro? Its between this gt or rs457.... Needs are commute and weekend rides

If u want the technology and light weight bike, go with Aprilia 457, and u should consider maintenance cost and service centre availability for Aprilia. If not go with an interceptor, after 1 year just buy the used GT tank, clipons and foot pegs and convert the interceptor to a GT. The biggest advantage with this twin - we can have two characters with one frame & engine.

I took the Interceptor bike 2019 feb. I didn’t face any issues with the bike. List of things has been reported on the second batch bikes
1. Rectifier issue
2. Wobbling issue
3. O2 sensor failure
4. Stalling issues (because of relay) and so on.
The much needed mod will be upgrading the front suspension with a YSS fork upgrade kit (around 22K without fork oil) or the cheaper option will be adding a preload adjuster and upgrade the fork oil to 15W or 20W.
Rest of the mods like adding an after market filter , slipon, header pipes , fuelx/fuelxpro/ booster plug is actually not necessary. But to grab attention and enjoy the biker feel, these mods became essential in the market.
Also, handle bar raiser is not needed for a person around 5.7. & above. But many went with raisers for the handle bar. Also seat modification played a vital role but for me GT touring seat v2.0 was sufficient. Some did ugly seats like an ambassador car seat. Then after many feedback RE released variety of seats. Puncture with spike wheels was a hassle and now we can upgrade to an alloy for the old models also and the alloys were really value for money and robust too, looks beautiful. But still we have outex kit or cheaper silicone to seal the rims which make it tubeless. The good thing is that they provided tubeless tyre on a spoke rim.
It’s a timeless design and any bike may come and go in the market, but this engineering simplicity for maintenance and spares availability and cost to maintain can never ever match any engines. Complaining will never stop if we get affordable engines at affordable cost, that’s the sad view among the market.

Confused between interceptor 650 and shotgun 650. Main purpose is riding in the city. Almost negligible highway rides.
Please give your suggestions.
interceptor is little more fun but shotgun has better suspension & better riding poster.
Hi I am currently facing stalling issue when I am just holding my clutch for few moments and leaving the throttle in 2nd or 3rd gear. I have latest updates of software updates. I have been going to the service centres so many times but they are unable to find the reason, chain is clean and tight as per required still its happening. Is anyone facing the same. Also I am not feeling the initial torque anymore. I own scrambler 400

The engine stalls when I pull in the clutch.
Like how does engine stall when clutch is fully engaged?
This happens really really rarely tho. If there a little throttle it doesn’t happen.

@@rithvikb12 i have done my second service recently they replaced the air filter then, it was really dirty and i think thats why the engine was stalling you can check ur air filter and clutch
Also now my bike is not facing that issue much, initial torque is back again

Is it possible to put hunter exhaust to interceptor
It will not look good, but u can modify and mount any exhaust, not a big deal, but consider the look before stepping out with any mods.
