1985 Oxford Cambridge Boat Race

Found this on an old VHS tape taken from BBC coverage
This 1985 race doesn't seem to be on UA-cam,
so I thought I'd share it .......despite it not involving UL !!
I've edited it, to get it down to under 10 mins,
but I've tried to keep all the key moments in the race.

Randomly searched for this as my new neighbour called Phil said he was in the Oxford boat in 1985!!

My ancestor George Latham Davis was the Cambridge cox in the 1877 race. Which was declared a dead heat! George was a barrister

I'll have a dig, but I very much doubt it. However I do have 4 videos on this channel of UL racing blue boats in 1980 and 1982.

the 1984 one would have been interesting indeed, I remember there was a thunderstorm going on and a lightning hit the Thames next to one of the boats
