"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life , I know you'll be a star, in somebody else's sky". One of the greatest lines ever written in music in maybe THE best live performance ever.
If you are unable to feel this song, you have no heart. Psylocibin would def make anybody feel this song, though. I wouldn't recommend the combo though if this song makes you an emotional mess (I know from personal experience).
I completely agree. The 90s was a renaissance of sorts in music to me. It had so much depth and meaning. Pure artistry u felt all the way to your soul. Something lacking in alot of music today. Substance! Cheers! 🍻
While I was in my 20's through the 90's, I too feel very lucky to have experienced the whole Grunge Music era. So many talented artists in such a short span of time. It was a rock n roll renaissance for sure.
Girl, you're empathic. You internalized his pain. Yes, his pain was real. He wrote the song about a breakup. This live performance is incredibly emotional.
One of the great love songs/break up songs ever written..a little dark but you feel the pain in Eddie Vedder voice ..pearl Jam at there absolute best ...check out stone temple pilots "plush" unplugged and alice in chains "nutshell" unplugged ...both from the same era x 😊
"It's very rare for a relationship to withstand the Earth's gravitational pull and where it's going to take people and how they're going to grow. I've heard it said that you can't really have a true love unless it was a love unrequited. It's a harsh one, because then your truest one is the one you can't have forever."-Eddie Vedder
Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, and others were all a apart of the Seattle Sound which was all the rage in the early 9os. Grunge, we called it. There were some greats, but Chris Cornell is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful voices I have ever heard. RIP Chris Cornell. Check out "Black Hole Sun", "Blow Up the Outside World", "The Day I Tried to Live". So many to choose from, not to mention he was in Temple of the Dog, a veritable "supergroup" of the times, with Eddie Vedder and others, and I love "Say Hello to Heaven" and "You Call Me a Dog".
Amber Blizniak cornell and vedder were both legends. Hard to say who i like better. Cornell had more really, really good top level songs. But i love vedder SIMPLY because of this one song. Its just on another lvl to me. Pearl jam has more great songs, but this one to me... just touches the soul
I've seen a lot of reactions to this song. I always wait for the moment that you realize you got on a roller coaster and you don't see the drop coming. Then all you can do is hold on. When it's over you realize what you've just been through. And that you'll never be the same again.
Welcome to the empath club, you are one of the ones who can actually feel the emotions of others whether it be through contact or music. Love your reactions because they are real.
Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder was singing this from his experience. In fact, he sang ad lib at the end. When he sang, "We belong, we belong together, together" -- that was ad lib and not part of the original.
👇 I agree with the coment below, grunge was a movement that promoted unpopular human feelings such as sadness... Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Smashing Pumpkins just to name a few... I think it is a good think to purge these feelings because feeling happy all the time and suppressing "negative" emotions can fuck someone's head...
"i know someday you'll have a beautiful life, i know you'll be a star, be somebody's else's sky, but why,why can't it be mine?!" life full of regret,...great reaction vid!
I've heard it said that you can't really have a true love unless it was a love unrequited. It's a harsh one, because then your truest one is the one you can't have forever." Eddie Vedder
Yes he experienced this, they had to stop performing this song for awhile cause it tore him up.. but Eddie Vedder is like that in all his songs.. he’s so unique
If you feel nothing while listening to this song you are souless. Not you just in general lol. Beautiful voice, amazing meaningful lyrics. I know you'll be a star in somebody else's sky but why can't it mine.
Yeah, it's about letting go and unrequited love but you gotta appreciate Eddie's voice and the pain/passion he displays singing this song. It's like he was re-living that experience at that very moment and we will always be forever grateful to have that beauty of a moment in history, thanks to MTV. Not many artists can portray pain thru song like Eddie did n still does. In case you haven't watched any Chris Cornell songs, I'd recommend his cover of Nothing compares to you and you will also see the same type of passion portrayed thru song
you don't have to have been in a recent REALLY PAINFUL breakup to personally feel the emotion of this song - IF you EVER have had that experience in your life (& who hasn't?), this song will bring it to the surface if you're paying attention -- BEAUTIFUL reaction, thank you
Yes, the singer "Eddie" did go through it first hand. The band almost didn't put it on the album because it was so personal to the singer. One of the band members wrote the music part and the singer wrote the lyrics for the song.
Yes, it was very close to his heart and it did seem to bring him to a place when he sang it, especially in Pearl Jam's earlier years. For some other Pearl Jam songs try these: State of Love and Trust, Corduroy, I Am Mine, and Given to Fly. More sentimental songs: Just Breathe and Unthought Known. Eddie's solo (Ukelele Songs) Longing to Belonging and Without You,
Been lucky enough to see Pearl Jam live 3 times when the have toured in the UK. Still an exceptional band with so much energy and passion. Eddie will always be my crush, he can still throw himself around on stage like he's in his 20s and he is such a kind soul.
I know you saw it again ... several times and with tears in your eyes, Thank you for your reaction, very heartfelt. Greetings from Córdoba, Argentina !!!
I've watched like 15 videos if people reacting to this song and every single one of them bobs their head and their eyes get big when he sings his variation on the second verse. Everyone feels him, too. I love it
In my opinion BEST MTV Unplugged Ever Yeah I remember those days.... Fun fact if ya don't know The movie Into The Wild about Christopher Mccandless Pearl Jam did 90 percent if not ALL of the soundtrack. Listen to some of the songs No ONE can do what he does Feel all his rage love sadness 😭
🤯 We had no idea filming Unplugged shows how iconic some of these performances would become. 🤷🏾♀️ Then again, we didn't know there would be a thing called UA-cam! Doh'! 🙄☺😉🐰#ENRGYZRBunny
The band was actually reluctant to put Black on the Ten album. This was a very personal song for Eddie Vedder at the time, as a matter of fact, it wasn’t on the set list for years.
I love all of pearl jams music. A vast library of great music to give to the whole world. The only band I fell for harder is led zeppelin. Sometimes I think their even better, believe it or not.
And I can honestly say there is no band who has performed more than they have live and you haven't been to any concert until you've been to a Pearl Jam concert the most epic and legendary performances were done by them in places all around the world
Yes. A unique voice and for the first time i can actually understand a few of the lyrics of a pearl jam song. My favorite song from them is "Yellow Ledbetter" Any version . I have the studio and two different live versions. Still can't make out the lyrics but that guitar! I assume it is about the musician and the troubles he went through. One of these days I am going to have to check on all of that and get the lyrics. Until then THAT GUITAR!!!
Apparently it is a tribute to Huddy Ledbetter but the original lyrics are not about him but about a friend of Eddies. And apparently Eddie would change the lyrics and meaning when he performs it.
Another 4 yr. delay, thanx to u-tube. Bout 1990 or so, i thot i was too old for th new music, but when i got to sit n listen to it, i was hooked. Kurt Cobains demise hurt a lil bit, so i am amazed but happy to see Eddie Veder, is still in the land of the living now.😂
"I know someday you'll have a beautiful life
, I know you'll be a star, in somebody else's sky". One of the greatest lines ever written in music in maybe THE best live performance ever.
But why? Whyy? Whhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhayahy ooOoOoooOOoO
You can feel Eddie's pain in that part
poeha007 - Why can’t it be mine?
Sucks for his pain, but it brought out one of their best songs! =(
always thought he said "sun." is it star?
You're the rare type who can actually "feel" the music.
If you are unable to feel this song, you have no heart. Psylocibin would def make anybody feel this song, though. I wouldn't recommend the combo though if this song makes you an emotional mess (I know from personal experience).
dumbest comment if the year. what are you even talking about? lol.
Exactly that.
Lots of 90s music is felt and genuine. I feel lucky to have experienced that era as a teenager.
Me too bro! Feel lucky to have experienced every musical note ftom the 90s
You and I both brother👍
I completely agree. The 90s was a renaissance of sorts in music to me. It had so much depth and meaning. Pure artistry u felt all the way to your soul. Something lacking in alot of music today. Substance! Cheers! 🍻

'Oh and all I taught her was everything... Oh I know she gave me all that she wore'
Eddie is a lyrical genius.
I'm sure we've all experienced it atleast one in a lifetime
I experience it everytime
Oh Yes 1997 17 yr old RIP NICK NUNLEY I'll Love you FOREVER
One of the great love songs/break up songs ever written..a little dark but you feel the pain in Eddie Vedder voice ..pearl Jam at there absolute best ...check out stone temple pilots "plush" unplugged and alice in chains "nutshell" unplugged ...both from the same era x 😊
That’s what good art is about........making you feel
Eddie sings from the bottom of his soul. A lot of times we don't know what he is saying but we do know he means every word.
You have so much empathy, you can tell how much you're feeling what the feeling of the song is, you can see it plainly on your face 💙
We all know that feeling...
It never really goes away.
One of my favorite singers right there.
This man just poured his whole soul out on the table before everyone live. Absolute Genius!!!
Music hits a nerve that really connects people emotionally.
A heartbreak that last a lifetime. It's been 30yrs and still cry everyday

Say Hello To Heaven is such a great song. And so sad.
Amber Blizniak cornell and vedder were both legends. Hard to say who i like better. Cornell had more really, really good top level songs. But i love vedder SIMPLY because of this one song. Its just on another lvl to me. Pearl jam has more great songs, but this one to me... just touches the soul

This was pure music.......
And you'll never hear music like this again.
Eddie’s voice really carries pain well; thank you for allowing yourself to be vulnerable
Best reaction to this song yet. You felt it like you’re supposed . Good job
THIS performance always brings me to tears every single time I see it.
Welcome to the empath club, you are one of the ones who can actually feel the emotions of others whether it be through contact or music. Love your reactions because they are real.
Black- my love left and my world has been turned Black. Pearl Jam typically has very emotional songs!
That's what great about music. You can feel what others feel.
thank you for being real with your emotions while listening
My interpretation has always been the 5 horizons are the senses, and obviously she is the sun. Powerful song and performance.
Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder was singing this from his experience. In fact, he sang ad lib at the end. When he sang, "We belong, we belong together, together" -- that was ad lib and not part of the original.
He is a beautiful man and this is a beautiful song.
Black, White, Yellow, Red, what follows...soul shines. Vedder sings from his soul.
its because youre an empath. you feel his pain. its agony. its haunting. its so flippin real.
I miss MTV Unplugged
Another great reaction, always enjoy them. Keep them coming..... Country boy from Texas. #gotmilk
This is the correct reaction to this song: emotionally devastated.
This song brought me solace so many fkn times during one of the hardest times in my life ❤greatest song ever!!your reaction is so real!! Thanks

Or it's "in somebody else's sky"...
@@thegoatatfootball968 That'll teach me to copy and paste somebody who's already got it wrong. :)
Just about the greatest song of all time. Vedder = GOAT.
Its a powerful performance huh. It really brings some emotions out. Great reaction video.
My favorite band!! They’re one of the best bands I’ve ever seen live. They still sound amazing. And like their albums too.
The complete shock ...What a song.
Had to stop the car first time I heard it!..
Welcome to Pearl Jam, Jayy!
Can I get an AMEN?

You had the correct reaction. It’s quite moving.
Yes he experienced this, they had to stop performing this song for awhile cause it tore him up.. but Eddie Vedder is like that in all his songs.. he’s so unique
That performance is the definition of being emotionally invested in your art

Pearl Jam- Jeremy (uncut)
Great gutteral performance... Eddie really brings the passion here

One of the greatest voice
Ya he based it off a brutal break up he had in his private life..
Pearl Jam Last kiss. Very deep song
you're more than good enough babe - keep em coming - subbed and belled
Check out their song 'Just Breathe', and Eddie Vedder's solo work, especially from the 'Into the wild' soundtrack.
That is a masterpiece of a song!
The band was actually reluctant to put Black on the Ten album. This was a very personal song for Eddie Vedder at the time, as a matter of fact, it wasn’t on the set list for years.

Eddy wrote this song about loss, specifically a lost love. He wrote it after his divorce
Great reaction to a legendary band. All of you're reactions are great.
Only the best unplugged MTV performance ever, Eddie Vetter poured his heart and soul into it !
You nailed it. Awesome. Subscribed!
Love your emotion
Chris Cornell: nothing compares to you. (Prince cover)
Or any Chris Cornell cover or acoustic performance. " Billie Jean " version or " Redemption Song " are pretty damn amazing too.

It hit me too.
You should look at “Alive” by Pearl Jam
A song who's musical tone does not match the lyrical themes. Fuckin love that song (and the whole album).
