Interesting take! I personally would have gone with an Oath of Conquest Paladin. It has fear, damage over time with Searing Smite, and Guiding Strike helps your Great Axe strike true.

Woow i'd never thought that buildign Darius would be so hard jajajajaj... This will be the only ranger that can cast 3rd lvl spells and wont take swift quiver xD
Based on the modern art (which shows minimal chainmail),you could justify going half-plate to key off of the Dex used for multiclassing and still benefit off of the Barbarian features. This would make the build even more potent and offset the downsides of PHB Ranger.
Cool build, though with Tasha's, and also my own gut feelings, I would make some changes. And no, I don't mean oath of conquest paladin. I actually sort of like the idea of hunter Darius and I'm sticking with it. Makes him unique from Swain and the obvious choice. Stats (with point buy, though even with standard array it'd just end with 14 wisdom instead of 16): Str: 15(+1) Dex: 13 Con: 14 Int: 8 Wis: 13(+1) Cha: 9 Other build choices would be the same until level 4 fighter (though maybe an increase in strength first before sentinel). With deft explorer and canny now being a thing, I would take expertise in athletics so Darius could shove enemies prone with his first attack, then hit them with a great weapon attack at advantage (at level 20 it'd be a +17 to athletics). This removes the need for those two barbarian levels (you might lose some DPR but there's a particular 4th level spell and a hunter subclass final feature that more than make up for it to me. plus it's more reliable to keep enemies in one place). Shove could also be flavored as Noxian might to an extent (imagine shoving enemies prone to the ground and staring them down as you swing your axe at their head). So once you hit level 4 fighter, you can pump the remaining 16 levels in ranger. No extra attack redundancy, and instead of athlete you can put a +2 in con (in my mind, more important for darius to be more tank-y. also helps maintain concentration on the ranger spells that you can use semi-reliably and sort of fit the flavor. like hunter's mark). Once you hit level 13, take guardian of nature. Not exactly a Darius fit but most of the ranger spells don't anyways. For superior hunter's defense, I would take uncanny dodge (though maybe flavored as Darius deflecting or tanking the attack to reduce damage) to add more tankiness to the build. And then I'd top off the build's final level with a +2 to wisdom (or you could also round up dex and cha) Final build: 4 Battle Master / 16 Hunter 184 HP (average) AC of 19 (with full plate), DC of 17 Str: 20 Dex: 13 Con: 16 Int: 8 Wis: 16 Cha: 9 Feats: Great Weapon Master, Sentinel Fighting styles: Great Weapon Fighting, Defense Maneuvers: Trip Attack, Sweeping Attack, Lunging Attack (same as ones you chose) Hunter features: Colossus Slayer, Steel Will, Whirlwind Attack, Uncanny Dodge Thanks for making this, much appreciated! Found this channel when I was searching for information about the new LoL expansion on DnD Beyond. When I was trying to create a grapple/punching pit fighter with the UA Variant Fighting Style "Unarmed Fighting" I kinda made a Sett build, I think. I leave it a bit open, so it would be something like that: 1 Barb - 16 Pala and you can finish it with the way you want, maybe 4 Barb for Primal Path (I would recommend UA Path of the Beast if you want to make him more of a Vastaya) ou 17 Pala for lvl 5 spell. The Barb, of course would give Unarmored Defense for the show-off, Rage for the advantage on grapples and tankyness. Then for Paladin, that gives the main flavor. It would use the UA Path of Heroism, it has nice features that can combo well with the grappling part of the build, and this path fits more the type of character that I wanted to be, less of a holy crusader Paladin and more of a cocky, super fit, trying to do good kind of guy. It would give him the ability to Smite (Jungle Sett I guess?) that you can use even when Raging, 7th lvl gives you shield (W) whenever you crit ou kill someone, and with the Oath's Channel Divinity "Legendary Strike" you can crit with 19 and 20, so more chance to shield and to burst someone with a critical Smite. The problem with this build if because of Concentration, a lot of good Paladin spells have it, and this Oath also has Haste (That you can flavor it as Sett's Q), so you need to do some thinking in the battle, you want to be more tank and hold someone on the fight with Shove+Grapple while Raging while trying to Smite when criting with Legendary Strike? Or you want to be more mobile in a fight, maybe grappling and moving with people around (You can flavor as his R) while still having advantage on Athletic with his other Divinity "Peerless Athlete", maybe even taking the Path Totem Warrior's Tiger to grapple people and jump with them. I was not thinking of Sett when making him, but while on the process I did see similarities. I made him a tall and buff Half-Elf for the stats and background, but you can still use this flavoring his elf counterpart as Vastaya blood. I use Point-Buy and it ended like: Str 15 +1 Dex 12 Con 13+1 Int 10 Wis 8 Char 14+2 (The + are from the Racials, and I dumped Wisdom because I made him yound)
This build just popped up in my feed and it's great, but I just can't help but point this out: The Soldier Background has Athletics and *Intimidation* as its proficiencies, not Persuasion. So this would just make Darius's preexisting Intimidation proficiency into Expertise. It's just a nitpick but I think it's funny cause Dorans accidentally made it crazy accurate to how scary Darius can come off as.
Yes, good catch Mikhail! Because I took Intimidation as my Variant Human Skill Proficiency DnD Beyond gave me any choice for my second Soldier proficiency. I should've realized that it was simply swapping them logically. Either way, the mistake is mine. I will endeavor to be more careful of these slip ups in the future ;)
Maybe a bugbear druid barb with shillegah for the increase damage pf the Q, primal savagery, erupting earth, and just a lvl of fiend warlock to create a little sustain of Trundle’s passive with the temp hp when killing things

Were the levels in Ranger really needed? You already had Sweeping attack from BM. New build, stat priorities Str, Cha, Con, Dex, and dumping Wis and Int. All the feats can stay, maybe swap Athlete for a straight stat buff. I know it's been said a lot in these comments but Oath of Conquest really is the Noxian way high damage SMITES, fear effects plus Paladins are just REALLY strong and high Cha would match how intimidating Darius is and the fact that he is the leader of an army. Wear half plate armor (since his arms and legs are still somewhat visible through his armor) and go Zealot Barbarian. This gives your first attack extra Necrotic damage and most bleed effects in 5e are Necrotic damage so this can also be part of his Hemorrhage Passive. This build gives you serious tankiness with Rage granting resistance to weapon damage, Aura of Protection to buff all your saves, and Second Wind, Lay On Hands, and Paladin spells for sustain. Your damage is insane with Rage, Divine Furry, Divine SMITE, Improved Divine SMITE and Action Surge. Finally fear effects can be a serious hindrance, especially with Aura of Conquest damaging and 0-ing out the speed of feared creatures.
I know Darius is a scary guy and all, but honestly, with so many wasted elements from barbarian, I would just dump the idea of going for Rekkles attack and opt for more Fighter or Paladin(Conquest)
hey doran i see the video went it came out but i be searching for more stuff but yeah now all the enemys of noxus will be witness of the true strength and hee like i say i been searching and it seem that dark tides of bilgwater is like pseudoficial not full oficial is like the content in critical role so sorry for recomended that source because you can used to make and oficial character but dont lose hope because maybe in the future we can resive a true full official book if all go good but i dont know how something like that will affect the lore of league of legends be safe doran to the next time. PD: any clue for next champ to be coming to the fields of D&D ?
