I am so happy to see younger authors writing cozies. Cozies offer such a broad range in terms of diversity, protagonist etc. One of the best things I ever did was join Sisters in Crime eight years ago. The sisterhood, workshops, education and all they offer is fabulous.
I love cozies. It’s a great genre to write in. And how great to meet another SinC member! I’ve been a part of the group for a while as well. It’s a great group to be in ❤️
I don't know if I've said this before - but I'm also from Toronto!! :) I also love Clue and a good mystery party! Thanks for making this awesome video!!!
Cozy mysteries sound right up my alley! The way you've talked about them makes it sound like something I would love to write/read. Thank you for sharing! 😄
it's a good point about reading YA thrillers and mysteries too - the other thing they have in common is that the MC isn't an actual detective, they are an amateur sleuth like the MC's from cozy mysteries.
Definitely! And while YA mysteries can definitely get dark they are still somewhat cozy for the most part. I feel the same way about middle grade mysteries which are fantastic too.
Amazing video, Nessa! Thanks for sharing your insights into the cozy mysteries genre (and lowkey, now I want to write cozy mystery hahaha!) I feel like shows like Colombo and Perry Mason started my love for that cozy mystery-ish vibes. Keep the great content coming! Also, nice to meet you! Subscribed :D
And now I want to write a cosy mystery!
