Am I the only one who reads this song mostly from Sean's perspective?? I can see Kaycee as someone who's been hurt in the past and can't let her walls down because she doesn't want to get hurt again, but I always perceive the song as coming from Sean - someone who gives all their love to someone who can't give them the same love back & keeps getting hurt as a result when their partner lashes out. I don't know, something about the way Sean is always there supporting Kaycee even when she leaves him time and time again, and then when she comes back, he so willingly forgives her - I just can't see him as the "bad guy" in this situation.
And then, at the end, it's Kaycee who's pounding on the door, trying to come crawling back to Sean like she's done multiple times throughout the song, but Sean's finally realizing that, no matter how much he might love her, being around her is hurting him. So he goes to open the door to her again, just like he's done a million times before, but this time, he stops to wonder whether or not it's worth it.

HOW IN THE WORLD DID I NOT NOTICE THE DANG HANDLE ON THE DOOR BEFORE?! What I said in the previous comment was right!!
If you look at the door (which I’m pretty sure you can see I just didn’t realize what it meant.) there’s a handle on only one side. Whoever is standing on the side with the handle has the power to let that person back into their life.
The fact that Sean was now on the side with the handle but didn’t want Kaycee to come back in made my heart break even more!
You guys really did something with this, song artists and art dancers. I will be thinking about this for a couple of days now and I’m gonna buy the song. Haha

If you are filming a music video to a love song or any song really that involves storytelling then you are missing out if you don’t use S&K to portray that message. They are the definition of storytelling and they have a vulnerability to them that allows them to get lost in whatever song they dance to. They have a chemistry and connection that’s unlike anything I’ve ever experienced and they’re only teenagers like what?! Such a genuine pair and they share a friendship that so many others wishes they had ❤️

Ne-yo was right. Sean's signature choreography is recognizable no matter who dances to it. When he and Kaycee dance together, they make it look like they've been doing it for a lifetime. It really brings out the beauty of the song. Love ya!

You could literally feel the struggle between them but at the same time the love the two characters have for each other.

I could watch this a billion times. The choreography is perfect for this song. To me it’s showing a couple in love. The woman is scared and wants to let the man in but her fears cause her to keep pushing the man away; yet he continues to fight for her. She wants something simple, casual, but he wants more. At 2:04 her confusing games are really starting to take a toll on the man but she pulls him back yet again, getting his hopes high. Maybe she’s ready to stop fighting what they have and trust him not to hurt her? However, at 2:11 she doesn’t have his back like he thought and he falls, yet he still is willing to catch her when she falls the next second. Still, she runs away and he chases her. She pushes harder and he cant take anymore. When she falls again she’s expecting him to be there, like always, but this time he’s “nowhere to be found” and she’s shattered. She realizes she really screwed up and maybe nothing, not even all the glue in the universe, can fix what she’s done. Both of them are broken now. Will he let her in so they can pick up the pieces together? Beautiful.

I believe there is a whole interview video they did for this video and I think it only took him 4 hours to choreograph this! It’s been awhile since I’ve watched it though, so I may be wrong. Either way, he’s very talented.

I think I basically know the story: so the relationship is going well, and Kaycee has like..problems? Or memories, because Sean didn't do anything, so she wants to leave, Sean wants her to stay because he loves her a LOT. But she leaves, and comes back to him, but keeps leaving, and THIS time, when she wants Sean back, Sean doesn't know if he should open the door, because of how many times Kaycee left him, and he's probably heartbroken enough and he doesn't want her leaving him again: Idk if I'm correct tell me if u think I am

I don’t think so, but it’s your interpretation. You can see that one site of the door doesn’t have a door handle. Kaycee was scared that Sean is gonna hurt her when she “try” it with him. So she just protect her self. After she locked Sean in the first time, she finished with him but Sean tried to come back in her life. So she let him back but still distanced with him because she is scared. Sean always tried to love her and support her with anything she did but kaycee run away and finished with each other. After that kaycee wasn’t sure about her decision and want to come back in his life (in the end). But Sean was not sure if he got hurt again because he tried very much that she accept him so he didn’t open the door for her to let her back in his life. That’s my interpretation. I am sorry when my English sucks (I’m from Germany)

this is essentially the dance representation of an anxious/avoidant relationship, with Kaycee having an avoidant attachment style and pulling away whenever Sean gets too close, and Sean with the anxious style - just clinging on tighter the more she pulls back. beautifully done i absolutely love these two

Bro...do you know how much trust it takes to dance the way these two do? Especially Kaycee, she has to give 110% trust in moves she makes and hope Sean is there to do his part...cause even the slightest slip-up and she could get hurt. Sean is brilliant with his choreography and ability to move quickly and efficiently enough to ensure he's there for Kaycee. Unbelievable chemistry between these two, it's beautiful.
