Interesting little compact camera, I'll have to add one to my retro camera collection.
I've added your channel, it's good to connect with other photography creators.

Picked up a nice one on eBay for $45 and made it a dedicated bw camera. I love it. Nice video, thanks.

    Nice! I have a Leica D-Lux 4 that's basically a re-branded LX3. It's a fun little CCD camera.

Nice video! Enjoy your presentation style 👍 I just bought an LX2 with no battery. Got a battery and crossed my fingers that it would come to life😅 There were some surprises once it started. Couldn't get it to format an SD card in camera. The tried formatting on computer. FAT32 didn't work. Traveled further back in time just plaiin old FAT format. Presto! My initial impressions are that the LX2 will be a fun, tiny addition to my bag. 16x9 is an interesting perspective. Thanks for the tip of ev -2/3 to get better jpg!👍🙂

I've been after a Canon Powershot S100 for doing street photography for ages, something that's not to big and is discreet and it's a compact that shoots RAW but the prices have gone bonkers. Just found an LX2 for £35 on marketplace, picking it up tomorrow small, discreet and shoots RAW just what I'm looking for.

Nice camera. I always thougt about buying one or an LX3. Last week I bought a Lumix TZ1 nearly the same, but no RAW and only 5MP. The viewfinder is a cool thing, mayby I buy one. Setting EV -2/3 works with nearly all older digicams to get better JEPGs. See it on your samle pictures, looking good :-)
    Have a sunny sunday.

I was after the LX3 but thanks to internet/youtube influencers pushing the prices up I just picked up all three of these models for only little more. Madness!
The TZ1 looks like a nice one I would imagine colours would be very similar!

@@irresponsiblepictures7451 Yes you are right. Thanks internet and ... . But there many other good Cameras from the same producer. Bought my TZ1 for 20,- €.
And similar colors like the LX2 :-).

Back in the day, yes. When we had fun and creativity in mind. Before the nowadays technocracy of stupid bokeh and overcooked megapixel count. I own the LX5 and the LX7. Great series. Bravo!!

I just bought the Leica D-Lux 3 (rebranded Panasonic LX2) off eBay and I'm anxiously waiting for it to arrive. My current favorite camera is the 12MP Olympus Pen Mini from 2011. I'm finding more and more that I hate the look of the photos from high megapixel cameras.

    • @mannyquinn5841
      @mannyquinn5841 7 місяців тому

@@janedoe678 The only difference between those two was the way Leica D-Lux 3 "cooked" the JPEG. Somehow the colors were more Agfa-like, with the European skin tones: soft & pastel-like. It had to do with the eye-education. People love to see more vibrant, colours on this side of the pond. That difference was very well noticed whe we went to watch European movies. I'd rather like that European colour; they are more souvenir, memories.
About high megapixel cameras, well, you must know that around here everything has to be oversized, even the news. Back in 2008 I took my then brand new Canon Powershot A620 (7.1 megapixels) I had the best images money can buy. The camera was so versatile, handy and fast. I still keep it, and I won't let it go.
      Have a great 2024!!!

Epl-1 would give you better results i reckon. Of course you would then need a decent lens!

As the owner of LX3 and LX7 models I look forward to the next reviews. The LX7 is certainly a much better camera than the LX3. Lots of improvements, especially with the video. 1080p is still very usable. IMO that is. I'll be interested in your comparison between the 5 and the 7. I scored a very nice used LX7, selected because it had the eye level view finder included. Seemed like a good idea but I've hardly used that!

I agree! I was so impressed with the LX7 that its now replaced my old Sony RX10 (yes its that good!) for family photos/video. The videos excellent on that model.
LX5 has something else going on ;-)
