No talking, just walking. Exploring the English Countryside. A nice gentle walk around Whitehaven Harbour, a coastal town located in the Lake District. We start high up on the hills looking down on the town. We walk down the to sea and then along the West Pier before walking North along the sea front. The weather is quite dull, yet somehow it adds to the walk. I did have to pause at one point when it started raining hard and I couldn't keep the camera dry, but it then cleared up. Non the less it was a lovely walk. Do enjoy :)

Hi there, I‘m Dave! I've lived in the English Countryside all my life, and I love it! I enjoy walking, and couldn’t help but notice just how beautiful the UK can be away from the cities. I found myself inspired and decided to get some camera equipment and make some walking videos so I can share my walks of the beautiful countryside with everyone!

I use the free version of Davinci Resolve 16 to do some really basic editing. Mainly making sure the sky isn't over exposed. It's from Camera straight to UA-cam. No cuts, no fancy business, no talking, just walking.

My memories of Whitehaven. Steam engines on the docks, Quaker oats factory. Mine still working, School tour of the Mine all the way to the coal face on a mini train, Fishing with my Uncle in his Boat off St Bee's head.

I've enjoyed every step filmed! And I very much expect this to be a life long hobby of mine to film and upload weekly. Although I do foresee some gaps in uploads, filming in the winter months is proving too challenging to film in, poor weather, and a busy work schedules to contend with. I shall endeavour as best as possible..

I live in Whitehaven and this video shows it in such a good light - it is lovely round the marina. I walked round the harbour yesterday (6/2/22) and got soaked as waves crashed over the walls. This walk is about the end of one of my favourite walks - I walk into town to Corkickle station, catch the train to St Bees and then back over the cliff path to Whitehaven and up the hill and home.

Bright sunlight can give a video a lot of impact. Softer lighting and contrast on the other hand is very calming and gives a whole different feeling to this harbour walk. The old stone harbour, although no longer being used for its original industrial intentions, gives an atmosphere of reassuring solidarity and permanence. Very appreciative of this walk Dave.

This is quite a walk! I love the start of it: going down that trail, with the cost views, is something quite unique. Love it so much when you go on that pier, at 29:35. Wow. an absolutely gorgeous, moody outing by the seaside. (the walk along the sea wall was nerve-racking!) this walk just keeps getting more and more beautiful as you go. thanks, dave. :)
I must say I was a little nervous myself walking along that wall, it was particularly windy and uneven on foot. A lot of concentrating went into not falling over. Worth it though 😃👍

Should I criticise or praise? I don't really know. I have to keep stopping the video to research on line the features shown. I've only got as far as the mosaic below what I now know is the Candlestick. I found out what the candlestick is. Then I find that the mosaic is one of many in Whitehaven. OK! On balance I praise. How else would I find out about interesting places if Dave did not post his videos. So thanks Dave.
