Ngl you definitely motivated me to start dead hangs. I asked for a pull up bar for Mother’s Day and after 2 months I can finally hang for 30ish seconds at a go. Lately I’ve been getting bored and swinging on it though. Thanks for inspiring us ❤

I really like hanging from a much thicker bar. Not only do you get the benefits to improved shoulder mobility and spine health, but it challenges grip way more.
Thin pullup bars are still good, and get the job done. But a thicker bar you can just barely wrap your hand fully around is considerably harder. I remember when I initially worked up to 90 sec from a normal bar. Then, when I tried the thicker bar, even 35-40 sec was challenging.

I started doing dead hangs throughout the day...maybe 20-30 times...but just for 5-10 seconds. The stretch feels great and my shoulders have been much less tender lately. I really don't think you need to dead hang for 30-60 seconds. I think that would wear me out.
