They're fun. Obviously is money is no object, i'd personally go out and buy the vintage ones still MOC but that is way out of my price range. These are decent stand ins
The colors of these turtles are different from the ones released in 1992. these are the colors of the 2012 turtles. So basically, they took the old line of action figures and gave them the colors from the newer line of action figures.
I had the original Mickey and Super Shredder. They where so awesome!! The original Turtles had indd gummy arms and legs. Also no cuts in the arms for rotations 😉 but Super Shredder, body & head, originally was in a hard plastic.
I still own Raphael, Donatello and Michaelangelo to this day. I ordered this set despite reviewers criticism. I can see why they’re upset because I recall each Turtle or all movie figures having a ooze canister included. The additional weapons or items are also missed like Michaelangelo’s yo-yo and a fire extinguisher possibly for Donatello I can’t recall. I never got Super Shredder or Splinter back then so this is good enough for me. I also remember Splinter having a velvety feel to his body.
They did that with the weapons, because the company would have made new metal modes and the figures would have cost more money., but I do agree they should have made newer type weapons. I watched max's models video and he talked about how expensive the modes was. You get a chance take a look. Hope u and everyone is ok and god bless.
The reason that the turtles weapons and Splinter entirely are released this way, is apparently because Playmates lost the original tooling for the weapons and Splinter. So it's said anyways, though they somehow managed to retain the original molding for Super Shredder... But indeed, rather disappointing that they went this route, instead of spending the cash to make new weapon toolings and a replicated Splinter, with a higher price over-all. Then again, it may well be time for someone else to get the toy rights for TMNT instead of Playmates...
@@optibotimus Bandai had the master rights for the Power Rangers toys, and look what happened there. It's really the owner of the franchise that decides the fate of the toy line. Which means, depending on how happy Viacom is with Playmates, could mean they'll continue to hold the master toy rights. If Viacom becomes displeased enough with Playmates, as Saban had become with Bandai, a change-up could happen. Then again, look what Viacom did to TMNT 2012 and Rise of the TMNT...
Those spots on there bodies are actually from the old TMNT music stage show, in that show the turtles were musicians who used music to spread peace over the use of violence and weapons, the turtles had a more 80-90s music rockstar look.
I may actually mess with these😲!

I still have the real original shredder and 3 of the turtles
Is that Splinter meant to be a joke? Throw that in the trash. Also wish the set came with Tokka and Rahzar.

Playmates is the master rights holder. They don't give it up

The spots are there because they were there in the movies they didn’t put them there because it was there in the stage show lol
Its odd they colored them like the 2012 toys. Great review tho!
You should have done a bit of research. The originals were rubber.
