Congrats on the digits . Been chasing IE( Collaboration ) for a while. Things have cleared up for me on the work side of the house ( crazy travel ) so its time to get back in the dungeon and get seriously " "cooking " again and knock this out. Again congrats Big Pimping !

Yeah, that was my passion years ago when they were promoting CUBE, but I was very junior, but for whatever reason, Voice (before they changed it to Collaboration) interested me. I hear you on "getting back in the dungeon," as yeah, this was many hours before and after work, and every weekend I had to commit to, but it's achievable, even when you don't think it is. Truly wishing you the best of luck and hopefully things can settle down or stay settled down on the work side of the house, but let me know how it goes!

I appreciate that. For the most part, I was a Network Engineer for about 7-8 years, primarily working overseas with different agencies and branches of the government. It's where I got most of my fundamentals. The past 5'ish years, I've predominantly been in the cloud along with hybrid environments as a Solutions Architect, and started dabbling into the commercial side (non-government roles). I kept my "finger on the pulse" and probably studied 10'ish hours a week last year, predominantly books and INE but late last year, going into this year, I made a push to just go after this certificate (which isn't really needed for my roles, as we've architected our environment(s) to leverage cloud native services (from AWS and Azure), SAAS solutions, and microservices, so I really leaned heavily on the CCIE online practice labs (which allowed me to become familiar with SDWAN) and rack rentals. Definitely upped that study time to about 25 hours a week that last 2 months of studying (2-3 hours on weekdays and about 6-8 hour sessions on the weekends, and gained a few study buddies online that were in their latter phases of studying - which really helped). Python was a weakness, so I utilized Udemy early in the year when they came out with a subscription for a personal plan to get most of the videos available. But I don't really go out socially and have family support, and that's an oftentimes unspoken blessing that helps make it a bit easier. But hoping that answers it a bit without going into too much detail and again, I truly do appreciate your support.

Thank you so much and I probably studied 10'ish hours a week last year, predominantly books and INE (to get some of the high-level stuff in my brain about OSPF and BGP mostly, didn't read much on switching since it's such a small part of the blueprint), but late last year, going into this year, I made a push to just go after this certificate. INE had gotten rid of their rack rentals, but still had their workbook and Micronics is pretty good as well. I really leaned heavily on the CCIE online practice labs (which allowed me to become familiar with SDWAN) towards the end. Definitely upped that study time to about 25 hours a week that last 2-3 months of studying (2-3 hours on weekdays and about 6-8 hour sessions on the weekends, and gained a few study buddies online that were in their latter phases of studying - which really helped). Not my area of expertise, but having worked overseas for about 8-10 years and of course here stateside, I have worked with a few Network Engineers/Architects who came over on a H-1B visa with an American tech company sponsoring them. Not sure if the visa stayed tied to their employement with the company, but I know two in particular who after a few years successfully got their green cards. I wouldn't say anything would be easy, but it does increase the chances/likelihood of landing a job and it would be easier for tech recruiters to help you. Not sure if that helped, but definitely is possible and helps out with separating your skills from other candidates.

Thanks a lot and I mean honestly, time is hard to quantify, but that's what costs the most (especially time committment from family). I've had most of the resources (books, subscriptions to INE/CBT Nuggets/ etc. as I attempted twice back in 2018), so monetarily, it was really just mostly rack rentals which was under $200. Studying with a group is definitely valuable, but you've gotta make sure they're all committed to "the cause" and just as hungry as you.
