I like "One Ingredient Recipes". They really make it clear how important technique is in cooking.
Satoshi, that is such a good idea with the tea and the rice. I will try it.
Thank you for sharing your great video with us.
Thanks for spreading the hojicha love!
I fell like I've fallen in love with green tea again. I completely forgot that green tea can be roasted and becomes hoji tea, the aroma and flavour. I'm excited to try your recipes with hoji tea!
I didn’t think it would be this simple to roast teal leaves. Thank you!
I always thought green tea looses its aroma so much after time that you couldn’t drink anymore. Now I see how I can give it a second and delicious life. Thank you!
OMG! I love hojicha! Thank you so much! I literally wondered a few days ago if I could make my own hojicha, but then forgot to look it up later... 😓. So happy you posted this!
Hi Satoshi good to see learn about Japanese tea interesting 🥰🏵️🌸❣️
That looks lovely! I am not a big fan of matcha in desserts, but i may like this a lot more, it has a beautiful amber colour! It makes me sad though because i struggle to find matcha foods i enjoy, when i love most teas
Thank you so much for this great idea. In my teashop they sell Hojicha only once a year as "limited edition" so it is quickly sold out and I want to avoid buying larger quantities for storage (doesn't become better if you keep it too long). So now I bought the cheapest organic Bancha they had and roasted it to 3 different grades to see which one will taste the best. They all were good! Thanks again for this great idea. - now I will never run out of fresh Hojicha again and can also vary the roast-level. Perfect!!
Satochi this recipe is so simple thank you 🤗✌️🍀🌹😊
Hello Saoshi. Thank you for the recipes. I will try to cook them. I think they are easy to cook. Thank you for sharing.
Hojicha is one of my favorite teas. I just can’t get enough of that roasted flavor! I need to make your ochazuke and milk pudding ASAP! Thanks so much for your divine recipes.
More great recipes, thank you Satoshi!
I drank so much hojicha when I was in japan... and the hojicha kitkats were my favorite! Can't wait to wake it at home now 😊😊 thank you so much for the recipe!
Excellent video! You made it look so easy! I want to try these recipes now. Thanks!
I love Hoji cha tea! I love the aroma! I never thought to use it to cook my rice with it! Thank you 🙏🏼 I will try that and also the Hoji cha cream!
great guy to have as a neighbor..
Love tea 🍵 in cold weather.
Thanks 🙏🏽
Also Hot coco too.
Thank you for these instructions!
This looks like a fantastic recipe.
Wow, very nice!! I have drunk hojicha before but never made it from green tea - I can understand how that would bring out the aroma.. and the hochicha gohan and purin also look very delicious! We will have to try it! Thank you, Satoshi!
Sugoi! Brother, I love hojicha! I had no idea, that this was how it was done. Pudding made with hojicha-very cool! So oishisou, ne! Thank you for sharing. ❤️
Thank you for these delicious ideas!! I'm sooooo happy I found your channel! Thank you for sharing your gift🌻 Domo arigato gozaimasu💗

What a simple but great idea. Thank you, Satoshi!
Dear Satoshi, thank you for the Hojicha Rice recipe! I need to try this very soon! I have some tea bags which I bought from an online tea shop from Kyoto and shipped them directly to Singapore. Can’t wait to try it out! 💕😋🥰
Making some to drink now!
Oh,so interesting,worth a try 😍!
Thank you for sharing! Looking forward to making this.

Delicious 😋
Great recipe! Thank you so much. I recommended this to my friend, and he said his wife's son enjoyed it. Arigato Gozaimasu, and please upload more content.
Good job
I love hojicha and so this was awesome to see... thank you so much now I want to try this 8)
I love hojicha!!! I'm gonna try the hojicha milk tea with tapioca
11:40 "its jeegling" ahahaha😂😂
I got Hojicha Tea KitKat's in my November Tokyo Box. I can taste as you drink your real tea!
My favorite tea!!!! It’s a tie with Genmai-cha! ☕️ 🍵 💚💚💚💚 Satoshi, does it have to be specific green tea leaves?
Also, if we don’t have a rice cooker, can we still cook rice in a pot and use the tea instead of water?
The other recipes are so easy too! I can’t wait to make them.
Yes you can
TabiEats Recipes thanks!!!
Hoji-cha can be kind of expensive, I'm so glad I can make my own now! I'll definitely be trying this soon :D
I used to drink kukicha tea.
For vegitarian maybe can use agar-agar instead of gelatin powder
Wonderful video, Satoshi! The Hojicha pudding looks so appealing and soothing. Do you think it would work using a non-dairy milk like soy milk or rice milk, or would the flavors of those overtake the roasted flavor of the tea?
I think rice milk might work or even soy milk. Perhaps make sure to intensify the flavors for the Hojicha by using more tea leaves.
@@tabieatsrecipes4886 Thank you! Good advice.❤
I just tried this today with my green tea since I cannot find hojicha where I live.
Thank you so much Satoshi for the recipes, I will be giving them a try. Is Hojicha tea new or has it been around for a long time? I've never heard of it before and my mother is Japanese. She's gone now so I can't ask her.❤️
It has been around for quite a long time.
Why boiling why for the tea leaves? It will scold them with this type of tea. Does it not come out super bitter for you?
法事の時に貰うお茶が古くなるとほうじ茶に煎って飲んでます。けど減らなくて結局捨てるんだよねー😅コーヒー毎日飲むけどお茶類はほぼ飲まない人生送ってます
Am I able to make this with sencha green tea?
Yes you can
10:36 what is that? pickled cucumber?
I roasted some tea leaves and I burnt my first batch because I was too ambitious
