- Based on SEGA Saturn game - rail shooter hit Panzer Dragoon.
Legends speak of a Dark Tower with a race of dragons that awaits the command to arise and wreak havoc. At least Kyle used to believe they were only legends until his lady, Alita, is stolen by the Black Dragon. Now Kyle must form an alliance with Blau, a blue dragon, in order to rescue her before she becomes the catalyst for the Dark Tower`s final program: the complete destruction of the world...
Production in cooperate with SEGA and Team Andromeda.
Game is also avalible on PC, PS2 and Xbox (to unlock in Orta).

;) Finished all Panzer Dragoon games (included awesome PDSaga & Orta). Now playin on PC version of first Panzer Dragoon.
SEGA-SKY: How hard was it to find "Saga"? I don't remember ever seeing it in the stores circa '98, but it's in one of my old "Sega Force" magazines.
Hmm in Poland (year 2000) cost ~65$. Now price is around 350$ allegro.pl/panzer-dragoon-saga-sega-saturn-i7121533336.html Second way to try this game is SSF emulator or Saturn Swap Trick.
@SEGA-SKY: Lucky you! In the States, finding Saturn games even during the console's prime was a treasure hunt--at least, it was in the two states I checked. There's a great many Saturn and Dreamcast games I'm itching to catch up on. Emulation certainly is an enticing option.

This was entirely a case of polishing a turd, and they didn't even give me a cloth to do it with. When Matt Greenfield didn't want to get his hands dirty... excuse me, filthier... he handed it off. It was my turn in the barrel, and you should have seen what I had to work with. I added stuff to keep me (and, I hope, my three viewers) entertained... like the sunrise over "Mount Salaya" (Trekkers should know that one) and a few other touches. However, no matter how much polishing, a turd remains a turd. This is one I have to look at and laugh, like some of the rotten productions (studio and live shows) that I've been in. They can't all be Gendo. :D

Panzer Dragoon Saga did alright.
Not to bad, lots pumped into a 30 minute blast. Worth a watch.

I own this and forgot what it was like I haven't seen it in so long. They hit a lot of the notes of the first, and it moves quick.

I'm so shocked as to how they used almost "current" anime sprites and art into something from 1995... any actual anime fans know what the art looks like from anime of this date, this is simply amazing what they did here

I liked the idea of Alita being blind - she had her other senses strengthened as a result.
The designs for the Black Dragon, Blau and the characters look good - it's just a shame the story was badly written and rushed, and the dialogue badly recorded. 😞

This voice acting is just superbly cheesy. Is it Alita or Alika? I swear I heard them say both in a span of about 2 seconds at around 6:15

It was "Alita", but the actors didn't always punch that "t" sound every time. Like Dragonball Z, chunks of this anime were just screaming, trying to match lip-flaps with some kind of dialog. Dubbing is an inexact science, or it was at the time. And as I mentioned in another comment, this show really was an adventure in trying to polish a turd. :D

orta would be an easy HD remake for xbox one (maybe ps4 with a VR component?) and of course pc with VR component. Motion controls on ps4 would be cool to and using kinect on xbox one. Wish they would try completely remaking saga as well (since they lost the code) but all this is unlikely with the failure of crimson dragon :(
Sad but true. No chance to remake one of the best rpg (PDS). But Orta is also awesome. So?! #SEGAForever !

He wasn't even called Blau in the video games. His real name is Lagi, and the dragon was named by Jean Luc Lundy in the second game.

What the heck was all that techno music? Couldn't they have at least used the music from the actual games?
This was spectacularly crap. I loved the original games, but they just have to go ahead and throw in a girl, because Anime girl story trope. It couldn't simply be about the original story which was compelling enough as it was. Plus the voice acting in this is just atrocious.
I mean, those were the days when Sega was still doing things. Now, they just whore out Sonic to Nintendo to bastardize and let Mario gizz all over them.

Of course, the dragon's name is Lagi, and Bluey.
But the anime is still good, it’s a shame that it was so disliked.

This was a real missed opportunity as Panzer Dragoon has a rich universe. This anime is ok but it's nothing special. The Empire and the inner workings of the universe aren't really explained nor hinted at. The relationship between Kyle and Blau deserved more attention too. The worst part is the English dub. My goodness is that atrocious. Maybe it's better in the original Japanese.

Tbf, it's barely expanded in the original game itself, so I blame the game more than anything. Even Panzer Dragoon Saga could have used more story.

Te napisy były dodane kilka lat temu. Aktualnie ta funkcja jest zablokowana na stałe i nie jest już dostępna we wszystkich krajach.
The animation is cool but the plot is weak and dialogue corny and cringe worthy even for 90’S standards

It's not that bad. It seems to me that this is some kind of collective opinion syndrome, when two pyramids were placed in front of people, one black, the other white. And then one child is asked what color the pyramids are; and since 9 children said that both pyramids are white, one child believes that they are also white.
