New sub. I am getting back into what I call car camping. I may be called overland camping now. I live in Louisiana and would love to explore Arkansas. Crystal Mountain seems awesome. What is the nearest town to start from? I have a Toyota 4Runner Off Road. So I feel I can negotiate the roads I see in this video. Are there campsites all along the way to Crystal Mountain? Thank you. I will be pouring over you videos of Arkansas starting out.
The view from Crystal Mtn overlook is wonderful. I also enjoy driving my Subaru up the short 1/4-mile track to get up there. Overtime, that track keeps eroding away in places & it looks different each time I drive on it. Unfortunately, it seems like every time I visit the overlook, I'm cleaning up the trash. I won't use the fire pits there after seeing the type of trash that I pulled out of them.
Awesome!! I've got a couple good friends in OKC. There are some great places on the east side of OK. We ran the GOAT trail back in November and loved it.
I'm in OKC with a Tacoma as well! Definitely still getting my camping set up squared away but love exploring the state so far. Grindstone hit me up if you need a wheeling buddy!
First, your a very sweet couple. I stumbled on your video while looking for a diy RTT channel. Loved it. Thinking about taking my wife and kids on a trip into that national forest ( won’t try to spell it) we live in Jeff City, MO, just about 45 min north of the Ozarks. I have a four door f-150, I’m planning to out fit with two RTT’s and possibliy pull a small teardrop or overlander Trailer. There’s 6 of us so we need lol more room. How rough are those forest roads? The camo sites look amazing. Keep up the awesome content, maybe we’ll see you out there someday
Thanks so much!! The Ouachitas are very mild. The Ozarks can get pretty rough in places. But there's amazing things to see and do in both that don't require any crazy off roading.
Thank you. We make all of our routes and waypoints available through Patreon. Take a look at the link in the description and see if that’s something you would like to do.
I have a quick question so I’m an Arkansas native and looking to get into overlanding and I have been to byrds and know the area well but never for off-roading I currently have a f-150 is that to big for the trails you run in the Ozarks?
Love your videos. I just got my first jeep last month. Would love to do some trail riding and camping. I just don’t know anyone that does this. How did you start meeting people to trail ride and camp with?
Thanks!!! First I just went out to my nearest national forest and started exploring. Made lots of mistakes. Facebook groups are a good place to meet people. Don't be afraid to just ask if you can join a group ride.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures Thanks for the info. Do you have any facebook group suggestions? I live in Arkansas and have been wanting to explore the Ozark National Forest. Thats what drew me to your channel.
@@zackattack6902 natural state overland, Arkansas Jeeps, Arkansas Overland and Expedition are all great groups that I’m active in. There is also a group dedicated to the Ozark Overland Adventure Trail.
From Greenbrier you could go to the Ouachitas near Perryville and run the Winona Auto Tour. There are signs for it to make it easy. Or you could go up to the Ozarks north of Morilton and explore around the reservoirs in that area. It's all beautiful!
Love watching the gift exchange! That was really fun to see everyone open gifts. That whole cellophane gift thing had me laughing. Each time the camera was on him, he was still trying to get to the gift LOL.
Seems like a good group of peeps for sure, and always enjoy the variety of rigs. This channel will take off in 2021, keep it up! Merry Christmas to you and the whole famn damily!!
Great video. The Winona WLM area is about 1hr from me and we frequent that area. Crystal mountain is beautiful and it's a shame that people leave their trash there. I clean up when I see it. I have never seen that cave and was wanting to know where that is? Also, do you have ride alongs where anyone can come? Thanks in advance
Thanks!! We do have trips sometimes with openings for others to hop in. When we do we post it to our Facebook page. The cave is just southeast of Forked Mountain.
Great way to spend holidays!! Good friends around campfire. Can you show the trail Badges in more detail that you have on your rig? That jeep has been places!!
Always watching for your videos, great job. If you ever want to put together a larger trail ride with like minded Overlander/jeepers Id love to come along. Recently came from 30 yrs wheeling Colorado to southern Missouri would like to experience the Ozarks with like minded folks.
Awesome video!! I've had to cancel a cross country trip I was planning for this summer, so I'm looking for a long weekender. Any idea of how this trail would be in the summer. I'm born and raised southeast Louisiana, so I'm no stranger to heat, humidity, mosquitos and creepy crawlers. Also, is there somewhere to download gps waypoints or were ya'll exploring? Such a cool looking trip!!
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures cause I clicked on this video thinking it was going to be exploring the area shown in the thumbnail but I after watching two 15 second long ads im sitting here watching a bunch of hillbillies around a campfire talking about gift cards
Yum at your dinner. I had same tonight
I officiated a wedding at the over hang at 22 mins

Awesome! Thank you! There are a few campsites near Crystal Mountain but the best option is to camp on top.
I'm doing the same thing now lol
Looks like fun folks enjoying life
Always!!! Thanks!
Great video and Merry Christmas!!!!
Thanks! Merry Christmas to you too!
Love Ouachita National Forest, it's beautiful. Agree though that the trails in ONF provide more interesting challenges.
We can't wait to explore the Ouachitas more to see what we can find.
This is a great way to spend the holidays!
I live near Jackson also. We were offroading in the Ozarks this weekend
I’m sure we will run into each other soon.
@@OzarkOverlandAdventures hopefully so
I'm sure you have already answered but how do I find these trails?
What's the name of the area at the end with the cliff? Thx!
It's near the flatside wilderness area.

Yeah the trash was bad but we cleaned it up for the next people to enjoy.

Ben overlands like I use to... looks like a great group! Did I hear a Colorado trip is coming? 😃
We are always planning a colorado trip. Just not sure when yet.
This video hits close to home and now Im going to subscribe. Best video yet, thanks for sharing.
Thanks so much!!
Kari and I had a great time...it was good to catch up with everybody and spend some time with Frankie.
Was the final cliff in Winona? I grew up at the edge of that WMA and can't say I have ever seen that spot.
It was near Forked Mountain.
Good video! That hair though... LOL 😁
I forgot my hat. LOL!! Thanks!
I hope to explore some of the Oklahoma side this year
I’ve seen some beautiful pics from there.

An F150 will be challenging on some of the trails in the Ozarks and pinstripes are guaranteed. The Ouachitas are very full size friendly.
Great video Thank you! Cam you share or message the coordinates?

So is this near Eagle Rock Loop?
Not really we were north of Lake Ouachita in this video.
For the record...I have a Roof Nest Falcon RTT...not an Icamper...:)
Ooops. lol
Another awesome video guys. Can’t wait to see what is in store next.
thanks!!!
Where this place at? Also how do ya'll find all these spots?
Nathan had been to this one before. I had been to the cave spot before. But we find most of them by getting out and exploring.
