I just moved to northern Maine 2 blocks from the St. John's river. Can't wait to learn muskie fishing.

Saw your presentation at Penobscot Fly Fishers Cabin Fever Reliever , this has been on my mind since. Maybe things go back to normal and I can get a guided trip in from you.

Thanks William! Contact Kevin McKay from Maine Fishing Adventures and he might be able to set something up with you this year. I'm sure he's booking trips already. His email: admin@maineflyfish.com

Gotta keep that rod down! That’s why you dropped that third fish. Even when you’re pulling the fish in, that rod tip’s gotta be below your knees. Great video!

Well done, you captured the emotions of fly fishing for musky. There are few things in life more satisfying than that experience. Congratulations to your wife and thank you for the video.

That was absolutely fantastic. I too am at the Newbie stage, the dream of doing it and accomplishing it stage. Have been for 10 years. I laughed a little and teared up a little as I felt their elation to get their first muskie on the fly. One Fish changes the whole day. Keep Grinding.

This was a fantastic video of you folks. Congratulations! I’m a dyed in the wool muskie fisherman from Wisconsin, though I’ve been living in Utah and have been pursuing muskies since my first muskie I caught, in 1994. My wife is from Maine and it looks like we will one day relocate to this beautiful state of Maine. I’ve got a 9.5 St. Croix muskie fly rod, that I have never used, for I have never fished for muskies with a fly rod, I’ve only pursued them with “hardware.” I’m going to track you down when we do relocate to Maine. Tight lines, and stay safe out there. -Steve Ebbens

We don't have those here in europe but its pretty much the same when we fish for truely big pike here in the Netherlands on the big lakes and rivers. There are most days without one but if you get one its bound to be 80cm + and crazy strong, most of the times its closer to a 1m+ pikes with good chances of those breaking the 10kg mark, although I just measure length myself, you can guestimate fish that are in the late fall or early spring before spawning, 1.10m pike then generally go for 9 to 10 kg. I've had a big big pike follow my streamer in right at the belly boat just like that big musky, not intent to take it but just to see that weird thing in the water, for a good 20-30 secs, he just followed it, letting it sink, hang , strip fast, strip slow, figure 8 as far as its possible from that low in the belly boat all didn't work, but amazing to see such a beast of a pike at well over 1m, follow it without any form of being scared. I can understand after a long and sort of frustrating trip throwing big streamers on 10wts finally getting one releases all that pent up energy. Had pretty much the same for a weeklong trip to denmark for big big atlantic salmon, only to see the river was blown up due to rain and my lack of experience and good equipment led me to not catching one yet, but in the end having a very nice 65cm sea run brown trout after 5 days of not a single bite, but seeing the salmon jumping and swirling here and there. ( the rivers are very deep, dark and a bit clouded most of the time, especially after rain so no sightfishing only way to catch is deep down and dirty fishing the heaviest of lines and weighted flies just to get down the 3-4m holes and underrcut banks etc where they most definitely were. Next year hopefully I will get one in scotland, if we can go there with this situation in the world.)

Wow this is crazy. Camped on the river for 3 days this spring and lost one fish at the boat on the St. John right on that section…Two days ago I took a spontaneous trip to that same area as your second trip and got two!!! Never imagined catching musky from shore in a place like that. Now I’m sitting here watching other people do the same thing in the same place!

I about fell out of my chair laughing when the guide was introduced after he said he was going to prove it doesn't take 10,000 casts. When fishing for musky you need all the advantages you can get!

My home stretch of water you fished where you caught your first two fish. I’ve done really well all along that Canadian shoreline in that stretch and have done well off that ledge point across from there on the American side as well.
