Chi ha condiviso questo mio giudizio dovrebbbe farsi portavoce e diffondere la conoscenza e il ritorno del repertorio scarlattiano nella vita musicle contemporanea.E' tato fatto così per diffondere la musica do Bach
From so many baroque pieces to the cello, these reveal a very special melodic line, without any concern for flowers blooming. Summary - When you listen and the time has passed quickly, its quality is undisputed - Thks.
Even as my musical ideal corresponds to the generation succeeding this master, I am once again impressed--deeply--by his fluidity and fecundity of invention. J.A. Hasse (his pupil) got one thing quite right: Allessandro Scarlatti was even more learned in harmony than the vaunted Durante. Many thanks for sharing this!
Very nice. I'm very familiar with Domenico's harpsichord sonatas, but know nothing of his father's work, with the exception of his opera Griselda, so these sonatas were a lovely introduction. Thanks for posting them.
This is an old comment so I dunno if this is of any use to you anymore, but for any passersby, I'm only aware of one edition- Alessandro Scarlatti, Three Sonatas for Cello and Piano, Analee Bacon (ed.), Schirmer's Library of Musical Classics, Vol. 1851, 1967, distributed by Hal Leonard.
:D Funny idea, but no (he talks about the picture after 13:30). Celli were built in different sizes, with different poportions and with 4 or 5 strings. Some pices require the e-string above the a-string to avoid absurd fingerings (e.g. Bach's Cellosuite No.6)
He's definitely playing on a 5-string cello. As Preacher1991 already pointed out, it was common practice during that time. The sound of the high e-string on the cello is similar to the viola da gamba sound, a little more delicate and not as 'grounded'. At 4:27 you can clearly hear him play the open e-string.

La modernità e la cantabilità di questa sonata ci mostrano aspetti insuperati del genio musicale di Alessandro Scarlatti.

Maestro Valli’s interpretation is very inspirational ❤

Vow, such ornamentation breathes life into a piece already beautifully constructed.

excellent!
why 5 strings?
Why not
actually are only 4. don't get confused by the reflex of the light on the edge of the fingerboard. enjoy Scarlatti !
