They spend most of the season off screen, is hyped as a powerful bogeyman figure by the other characters, and engage in offscreen mind games to taunt their target before making their big debut.
Well for a series supposely to be about vampires it sure looks like the witches truly runs the show. Even Vincent can ragdoll and mess with him since vampires can do 0 magic. And if you are good enough at magic you can even self resurrect! So whats the point of being a vampire???

As for Bonnie she's always been a plot device like when the writter wants they will give her Expression which caused her demise, she can't control 100 dead witch powers and without these powers her default power level she dont even stand a chance against heretics. The only thing Bonnie did considered impressive is when she contained hell fire which i dont think is the real hell for a good 1 minute with her stored powers over the years and when she runs out of the stored magic she started to bleed herself out again as usual and it was her ancestors helped to destroy it not Bonnie alone. Any powerful witch can create dimensions like the Gemini coven, but if all souls went into that realm even this realm will be hard for the creator to control any sort of things. Bonnie created new dimension using her sorrow psychic blast accidentally too and unfortunately she has no control over this realm nor real psychic powers, only if they make more development on her but they dint. Dahlie dint even need psychic powers but she can control big numbers of people at once using kenning spell possessing even dead body and grant them her own powers and fighting skills which is more than what a psychic can do. She only channeling Freya where Dahlia even willing to kill as she doesn't need her anymore while Hollow feeds on her hundreds of followers n kill them to take their magic. They always made thé New Orléans witches so weak compared to the Mikaelson witches...Freya was no picnic..Dahlia did give her power immortality and youth. They shouldve made Dahlia an ally and kept her on the show..then again in Season 5 they totally messed up when they got rid of Haley. After the season with Dahlia, the quality of the content went downhill.
Imagine if klaus would have took her deal . With hope powers added to hers and her knowledge of dark magic she coulda probably locked away the hollows magic if they would have came across each other in that time line, could of made a army or hybrids and made a faction running the supernatural community
Dahlia is hands down probably the most powerful supernatural creature in TVD/TO/L. The only person that will match her power and probably pass it will be hope. When she “died” she didn’t even get killed. She just accepted moving on with Esther and died on her own terms. Dahlia was never killed. She dessicated vampires without needing to stop a human heart, was able to achieve a sort of immortality without needing human blood. Killed a village with a wave of her hand. Can give her minions fractions of her power. Mind you, we didn’t even see all the power she had lol. Kind of Ironic Esther herself spent so long trying to kill her 'monster' children. but in the end wanted to save them? Only I can kill my children. Also If Dhalia was promised to take each of Esther firstborns then shouldn't she have taken Klaus too? Everyone is so hopeful that Hope will surpass this level of power as she is supposed to be powerful. Whilst it's true, Hope as a first born Mikaelson witch along with her werewolf gene and vampire side should be more powerful than the likes of Freya, she won't reach this level of power. She will be extraordinarily powerful but not as powerful as Dahlia who channelled Freya, remained under a magic enhancing sleep spell & practised her own unique branch of dark magic for a thousand years. Many people forget how strong Dahlia is, she is even stronger than the Hollow. Also stated as the most powerful being in the TVDU.
inadu will dog walk dahlia. inadu channeled THOUSANDS of sacrifices & death only made her more powerful. inadus spirit cant be killed while dahlia was easily killed once she was caught off guard. inadu managed to kill off elijah, klaus & elijah again.

However the ancestors didn't get involved with the fight against Dahlia in Season 2, as Dahlia was proven more powerful than the entirety of the ancestors and their power, whereas the Hollow wasn't. Dahlia also showed greater control into the depths of her power compared to the Hollow. In Season 2, we only saw a taste of Dahlia's power as she only wanted that which was owed to her and nothing more. If her motives were different, we may've seen her full powers.

Anything the hollow could conjure as a means of harm Dahlia could destroy. The indestructable white oak stake is all the proof you need of that. The hollow is at her strongest in spirit form. She can combat Dahlia even without a physical form. But if we are being completely honest as to who would win.. Dahlia would prove to be a more effective fighter. Also esther isnt around anymore. Which takes away Dahlias only fatal weakness. Dahlia would win. But given the hollows dark and unique ability to fight formlessly Dahlia would be tested like never before and that's a fact.
Freya should've attacked Dahlia when she first had the chance... she wasn't nearly as strong as Dahlia but if she got that sneak attack they could've maybe found a way to deal with Dahlia.

Dahlia is the only witch capable of dessicating original vampires with one simple gesture. She is the only one who could destroy white oak stake given the fact that it was created by Esther to be indestructible. Omg she is the only witch who could teleport! No other being in the universe has demonstrated that. Everything that happened in season 1 and 2 was because of her!

She definitely would not be able to put up a fight against Dahlia seeing as Dahlia with a wave of her hand killed an entire village, dessicated 2 original vampires with no effort at all, Abby and Bonnie needed to stop a human heart for them to do that and Abby almost died. She controlled almost the whole town with kenning, and can teleport which we thought witches couldn't do but Dahlia and Freya was able to do it anyway.

They shouldve made Dahlia an ally and kept her on the show..then again in Season 5 they totally messed up when they got rid of Haley. Dahlia is hands down probably the most powerful supernatural creature in TVD/TO/L.
The only person that will match her power and probably pass it will be hope. When she “died” she didn’t even get killed. She just accepted moving on with Esther and died on her own terms. Dahlia was never killed. She dessicated vampires without needing to stop a human heart, was able to achieve a sort of immortality without needing human blood. Killed a village with a wave of her hand. Can give her minions fractions of her power. Mind you, we didn’t even see all the power she had lol. So yeah, dahlia IMO is the most powerful character in all the series seeing as she died on her terms. Hope will be the only one to pass her as far as we know now.

I love the way she does magic
Everyone is so hopeful that Hope will surpass this level of power as she is supposed to be powerful. Whilst it's true, Hope as a first born Mikaelson witch along with her werewolf gene and vampire side should be more powerful than the likes of Freya, she won't reach this level of power. She will be extraordinarily powerful but not as powerful as Dahlia who channelled Freya, remained under a magic enhancing sleep spell & practised her own unique branch of dark magic for a thousand years. Many people forget how strong Dahlia is, she is even stronger than the Hollow. Also stated as the most powerful being in the TVDU.
inadu will dog walk dahlia. inadu channeled THOUSANDS of sacrifices & death only made her more powerful. inadus spirit cant be killed while dahlia was easily killed once she was caught off guard. inadu managed to kill off elijah, klaus & elijah again.

As said, she also invented her own unique branch of magic. The Ancestors were eager and able to trap and contain The Hollow's spirit after her mortal body was killed. However the ancestors didn't get involved with the fight against Dahlia in Season 2, as Dahlia was proven more powerful than the entirety of the ancestors and their power, whereas the Hollow wasn't. Dahlia also showed greater control into the depths of her power compared to the Hollow. In Season 2, we only saw a taste of Dahlia's power as she only wanted that which was owed to her and nothing more. If her motives were different, we may've seen her full powers.

The hollow is attuned with pure black magic. She didn't have to learn it. Dahlia spent centuries perfecting her use of dark magic. The hollow was simply born with it. Its effortless for her. Dahlia has experience but the hollow has more potency.
Also Dahlia and Inadu have a unique advantage of their own. Dahlia can destroy all forms of weaponry or magically disable them. Anything the hollow could conjure as a means of harm Dahlia could destroy. The indestructable white oak stake is all the proof you need of that. The hollow is at her strongest in spirit form. She can combat Dahlia even without a physical form.
But if we are being completely honest as to who would win..
Dahlia would prove to be a more effective fighter. Also esther isnt around anymore. Which takes away Dahlias only fatal weakness.
Dahlia would win. But given the hollows dark and unique ability to fight formlessly Dahlia would be tested like never before and that's a fact.
Freya should've attacked Dahlia when she first had the chance... she wasn't nearly as strong as Dahlia but if she got that sneak attack they could've maybe found a way to deal with Dahlia.
