if you are an american here's a trick: only option B and C have a difference of negative simbol only, and the equation is an absolute value, which the final answer must not be negative. Hence, 6 is the answer
Absolute value does NOT just remove a negative sign. The absolute value is the distance from zero. for all real numbers, there is no distinction, but the way that it is described in the video does not work for stuff like |1+i| because you can't do anything with the i. For problems with imaginary numbers, you must imagine a plane with real numbers as one axis and imaginary numbers as the other. You then use the distance formula to find the absolute value.
@@SS77S7 although you are correct, I'd argue that explaining it as the distance from zero (as my teachers always did) is beneficial since students won't later have to learn a completely different way of thinking about it that gives the same result for all real numbers.

Absolute value means distance from origin, no matter the dimension. In one dimensions so numbers, it means distance from 0 on a number line. This means |+1| is 1 since the distance is 1 from 0.
Absolute value is a just a measurement of the distance from zero. So -6 is 6 away from zero. 1 is 1 away from zero, so it remains the same when you take the absolute value of it.
