Mount Madja-as is the highest peak in the island of Panay, in the Philippines towering 2117 meters above sea level along side with Mt. Nangtud and Mt. Baloy. It is the 9th-most prominent mountain in the Philippines.
It is located in the town of Culasi in Antique Province. Madja-as in Kinaray-a means High or Lofty. It has diverse flora and fauna, mossy forest and has 14 waterfalls down to it's slopes.
Days required to do this climb is 3-4 days. This is a major climb with a Difficulty 8/9, Trail Class 1-4. Our entry point was in Brgy. Flores. We did a backtrail route.
The mountain has been regarded as one of the most sacred abodes in the Visayas since ancient times, as it is said to have been the repository of Sidapa's ancient sacred tree that is used to measure mortal lives. In mythology, the god of meteors, Bulalakaw, and supreme goddess of the Hiligaynon, Kanlaon, are said to have lived in the mountain prior to their change of abode. Pandaki, god of second chances, is also said to occasionally visit the mountain.
Trivia:
According to the guides, the group to summit Mt. Madja-as should swim to Bantang River for a good weather. Also, one should not take pictures in the Bonsai Forest before the summit for a good clearing.

@@neilbegasa I lost count. Saka matagal na. Teen ager pa ko until in my 20s. Taga makato ako, 62 yrs old. Dyan kasi sa vlog mo wala ako nakita ibon (kahit huni man lang) o ibang hayup gaya ng ahas, monkeys, bayawak etc. Just asking👍

Napaatras "muna" ako diyan, sa kadahilanang nasa panahon pa ng tag-ulan (July), at pagod din ako mula sa akyatan ko sa Mt. Talinis (Valencia, Negros Oriental) nitong 3rd week of July. Umaasa akong matutuloy ako diyan, sana bandang summer. Salamat sa pagbahagi nito, pakiramdam ko'y parang nakasama ako diyan, at least alam ko na aasahan ko diyan.
