The bans didn’t make prevent violent crime, it made it worse.

Imma be honest. I hate when prople use this argument. It really isnt a good argumentative response. Lets be honest, the number 1 use of firearms is to kill. Be it humans in war. Or animals. Instead i think a better argument is yes one use of firearms is indeed a "killing machine" when necessary to defend our lives, our land, and our freedom. Just like any other object, in those times any object will be used to kill. Be it a pencil or a rock. I feel like when we start calling other objects ohhh a car can be a killing machine and this and that. Well yes ofcourse. But to them, they see it as a non sense argument and childish one. I mean we definitely dont buy guns to play with each other. U want that get a paintball marker. Yes guns are deadly. And we use them for many reasons. And one could be for killing... the bad guys that is. Now if some maniac wants to use such weapon in the wrong manner, we need to blame the maniac himself and how this maniac got his hands to a gun. If he wants to kill, he will kill regardless. Yes a firearm makes it easier to kill as it was technically designed to do so efficiently(the reason we use them for defense and reserved for shtf), but theres no reason to punish the good guys, especially when our clear reason to have them is to not become the next nazi germany... think about this. The more good guys that have guns, that bad guy prolly wouldnt have even killed one. P.s. liberals...As of now its too late to ban guns. Theres more guns than americans. So not worth an argument as its not reality.

Guns do kill people unless you raise them up right. It all comes down to the parenting, and my assault rifles were raised in a loving home and have never killed anyone.
Real assault rifles are full autos. I was alive back in 1986 when the NRA sold us out and supported a ban on the manufacture of new assault rifles. You can still buy an assault rifle, but it has to have been made before 1986. Back then, the libtards in government said "We only want to ban the full auto assault rifles, we won't touch your semi automatics, because they are not assault rifles". A few decades later and they started calling semi automatic versions "assault rifles" in order to demonize them, or give the impression that they're evil. Another thing these communist idiots started doing is calling gun control, "gun safety legislation". I guess the idiots think that they'll fool us into believing it's laws about the safe handling of firearms. When I grew up we had an a assembly once a year in school, that taught the safe handling of firearms. There were guys from the NRA that would speak and show films, and they also brought some cool guns for us to check out. These gun grabbing libtards are idiotic.

There are more privately owned firearms in the UK than since records began. Around 2 million and rising. Since the handgun ban in the 1990s, handgun murders have risen. This is because the vast majority of gun crime is committed in inner cities by criminal gangs. And of course criminals will always find ways to get illegal firearms. All that more restrictive laws do is prevent the vast majority who are law abiding people from defending themselves and their loved ones should the need arise. Which with the breakdown of society, will happen more and more. And remember, criminals will always have guns.

By showing the Police that you have a legitimate reason for owning a firearm. Usually by being a member of a gun club, but as you're aware there are other ways and it's at the Police's discretion.
It's not impossible to legally own a gun in the UK, a friend of mine owns several shotguns and rifles, as he goes shooting (game, pest control, clay pigeon, targets). You go through background / CRB checks, have an interview with a police officer where you demonstrate you have cause to own one and that they are stored in a proper, secure location, you then apply and pay for a license (I think a shotgun license and rifle / firearm license are actually separate license), and if it all goes through you can legally buy and own them. However, the moment you show or claim that they are for your 'self defence' or 'personal protection', then you're effectively breaking the law.

You're blaming a pen for your messy handwriting. Even if there are laws in place to prevent psychos from getting guns, do you think someone willing to commit mass murder is concerned with laws?
In the UK you do. The problem is, the government rush through laws to restrict law abiding and legal gun owners continually. Absolutely none of those laws stop the criminals getting their hands on firearms, they're better armed than the legal gun owners here in the UK. The firearms related offences consisting of legal gun owners is an overwhelmingly low statistic and you have an approx 6 months wait + background check + interview from a firearms police officer + medical note from doctor to say you're 'psychologically' fit to retain firearms and ammunition. Even then, any new firearm you purchase after you obtain a licence which states precisely what you own and how much ammunition you are allowed to have in your home, you have to declare that firearm on your certificate. The background checks in the UK are very strict. Absolutely none of it has stopped criminals. Also I find it highly hypocritical of politicians and 'famous' people who want to restrict gun ownership and lobby against them, all while they're protected by other people carrying guns. Smh.
I’m in Australia, I’m a gun owner and the police I know have told me throughout their long years in the force they have NEVER come across an incident that a registered person using a registered firearm has been involved in. I think people who want to kill will use whatever means necessary. Ultimately its a value system. In all countries, the ruling class owns and controls guns and in only one country, that Ruling Class is the people, and not government.
Not a logical fallacy at all. The regulations that are constantly being proposed, and restrictions being made, are against those guns that cause the FEWEST gun deaths (Semi automatic rifles). You can't conceal a rifle so it generally isn't used for crime much as per the FBI stats I posted, nonetheless, it is the "Main"target of most legislation because, primarily, of how it looks. Also, the point was that a person who wants to kill lots of people can do it with a gun or a truck or the way the Boston bomers did it, via a crockpot or pressure cooker. (3 killed and at least 264 severely injured) I don't think "registering" the gun helps any more than "registering" the knife or Truck....the criminal that wants to use it will find a way.
I'm from Britain and i side with the Gunshop Owner. Owning a gun has been a right since America was founded. Kinda but they did air this including the part where they got owned, other news channels would edit that shit. They are honest, sometimes at least, and it ended up helping gun owners cause.
What many people don't get is the fact that guns are very often used to stop crimes, some of these crimes would be violent crimes including murders. Often shots are not needed as the presence of a gun is enough to deter the criminal and more than not the thorted crime isn't reported.
Jkinsg92 Sober people with cars don’t make it any safer either. You people are very irritating. Stop limping everyone in with the crazy people. Abortion kills about 19x more people than all guns put together! Of course, you’ll defend it. You LOVE death! You also hate guns. So you attack them and call anyone who has one a psycho.
Jkinsg92 Actually, yes they do. You people never explain how getting rid of guns will stop criminals from getting them. Society would be much more dangerous if good people didn’t have guns.
Jkinsg92 Your societies are just putting up a facade. They still have evil people just waiting to do evil things. No matter what, society will never be safe, guns or no guns. If I don’t have a gun, any criminal could just say: “well, who’s gonna stop me now? The Police?”. You know who else banned firearms? El Salvador. And it’s the murder capital of the world.
Jkinsg92 I find that hard to believe, because conservatives believe in the right to bear arms strongly. But, you’re entitled to your own opinion, so whatever.
Jkinsg92 I can see your point of view, but gun control only works so well. In a country like El Salvador, it’s a flaming failure. Your countries over there are more civilized, so to speak. It works a little better over there. It wouldn’t really work over here.

+Downfall: Well, when they don't know nuffin', they don't know good questions to ask, or how to assess the answers. So surface is all - even if they don't know what they're looking at.
If the reporter asked me what the most dangerous weapon is, I wouldve pulled the smallest pea shooter out and simply said it matter whos hands this tool is in. The only thing the rifle says, if you have any intelligence, is that its meant for distance. They are acting as if its a dick... size doesnt matter here, sorry ladies, they all kill.
Jacob C we are about to repeat what happened in Nazi Germany, the Soviet Union, Mao’s China, Cambodia, etc. We may not be directly repeating our history, but we are repeating the history of other nations.
Jacob C You haven't been noticing how oppressive the Left has been? They release illegal aliens who've murdered Americans. That's just for starters. They illegally spy on Americans, they use government agencies to attack Americans. They refuse to defend free speech. We haven't gotten rid of slavery. It's just limited to the Democratically run areas now.
In America, people are citizens. In Britain people are subjects. In America all citizens are equal, and none have any special rights that others cannot enjoy. A soldier or police officer is not more privileged than a normal citizen (I have been both a soldier and a police officer). A citizen has the power to arrest other citizens for committing crimes, a citizen has the power to arrest a police officer or soldier for committing a crime. In a country where everyone is purported to be equal, no class may be given any special privileges. People often read the 2nd Amendment, as follows: "A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed," and think that only a "well regulated Militia" has the right to keep and bear arms, but this is incorrect. Who does the regulating in America? The people. The people are the final authority, and the ultimate power in America, not the president, congress, or any military general. The people regulate the militia, the people regulate the state, not the other way around. To regulate anything, one must have the authority to do so, and authority must be backed by power. As for violence and gun deaths in America, relative the the number of guns in the country, gun deaths are uncommon. The number of gun deaths is about half the number of traffic deaths in America each year. Of these gun deaths, half are suicides, a significant amount are accidents, self defense and police shootings, what is left over are murders. This number is extremely low given the fact that there are some 200,000,000 guns in America. The government does not have the authority to regulate the people, it does not have the authority to regulate guns. But it does have the authority to regulate larger problems which cause significant deaths and injuries. Owning a gun is a right, but driving a car is not a right, yet despite the fact that tens of thousands of Americans are killed in car accidents in America every year, and millions are hurt, licensing standards are not increased, or is driver safety mandated. I live in Japan, were gun violence is rare. That's not because guns are banned in Japan, there are about 250,000 gun owners in here. But in Japan, law and order are enforced, punishments are strict, and people are brought up to be responsible, and with a feeling of shame. But Japan also has very high driver licensing standards; getting a license costs thousands of dollars, tests are extremely difficult. As a result, the entire county of Japan has less traffic fatalities than the state of California, despite having nearly three times the population. If the end goal is saving lives, gun control should be far down the list; hundreds of thousands of Americans are killed by tobacco and alcohol each year, countless more from drug abuse, and too little effort is made to reduce these deaths. A little perspective and objectivity should be used, but since when has the BBC ever used perspective or cared about objectivity?
Murder rate is off the charts compared to other countries. That may not be high on the list compared to deaths by other means in the US, but its high when compared to murder everywhere. You gotta compare apples to apples.
Why the hell do they keep sending britts to talk about this like the USA gives a toss what they think...we all saw how well that worked for piss morgan...

GodBless America so how do you explain that no there are so many mass shootings in the US compared to literally ANY other western state? It‘s because we have better gun laws than the US!
No, it's because the US is one of the largest countries in the world. Per capita, the US isn't even in the top ten when it comes to mass shootings. Norway, Finland, France, and Belgium _are._
GodBless America. Except for the fact that Vegas was a false flag, Paddock was the patsy, and there were documented multiple shooters. "False flags: Government operations against the civilian population which are blamed on a patsy and are meant to bring about the Government's nefarious agenda. Usually violent and always meant to reduce the freedom & liberty of the people." Sounds like a good explanation to me. You can substitute "Vegas" for OKC Bombing; 9/11 (1 &2); Boston Marathon Bombing; Orlando Pulse Nightclub Shooting; Sandy Hook; Parkland School, and many, many more Governmental/Marxist/Deep State attempts at shredding our Constitution and freedom. And libtards want us to give up our guns to THESE people?!? I think not.
WJS sorry, I don‘t know weather that is true or not, can you link the source? Regardless of the mass shootings, one can‘t denie that the US has a huge problem with gun voilence/ accidents. Just as comparison: more people have died due to gun voilence in the US than in any war the USA has ever fought (from war of Independance to Iraq)
+Houdini The source is crimeresearch.org/2015/06/comparing-death-rates-from-mass-public-shootings-in-the-us-and-europe/ Mass shootings have very little to do with "gun violence", being a tiny fraction of a percent of murders in _any_ country. And yes, I _do_ deny that the US has a huge problem with "gun violence" or gun accidents. The US has a problem with violence _period._ If you remove _all shootings_ from the US murder statistics, the number is _still_ higher than most of Europe. The US has more stabbings too; do they have a "knife violence" problem? Regarding accidents, you haven't made any effort to justify that there is a huge problem. By CDC statistics, _far_ more people are killed by accidental falls. _Far_ more people are killed in traffic accidents. _Far_ more people are killed by accidentally _poisoning_ themselves than accidentally shooting themselves (or others). The majority of gun owners will go their entire lives without killing anyone, either deliberately _or_ by accident.

While gun owners could sue (cus in the U.S. u can sue anyone for anything, no joke, u could sue me for stepping on ur shoe accidentally if u wanted to) but it would be a loss cause and would turn into a money war and the gun owner would probably not even have a case.
(3 killed and at least 264 severely injured)
I don't think "registering" the gun helps any more than "registering" the knife or Truck....the criminal that wants to use it will find a way.
are you dumb? How is a gun not made to kill? Do you think they made them because it looks nice?
I'm from Britain and i side with the Gunshop Owner. Owning a gun has been a right since America was founded. The people have a right to own a gun to defend themselves from those who want to harm/kill them.
Around 60 years ago, guns in the UK were legal, but were then illegalised after a man went into a Primary School and shot dead all the pupils in a class along with the teacher.

How do you expect a British man, who lives in a country with few civil rights when compared to America, to understand our love of freedom?
@Jackilichous True, but the consequences are different in each country. For example, we don't have Anti Social Behavior laws that have 3000-4000 arrested each year for what we call free speech. Everyone has freedom of speech, just a lot lighter retribution in America. If you actually consider other cultures, rather than just your own, it isn't so hard to understand. It's painfully obvious that you don't know the first thing about warfare, let alone asymmetrical warfare. _No_ general will tell you that the US military could easily conquer america simply because they have better weapons.

Fun fact it is now 2024, and you can be charged for being "grossly offensive" and be jailed in the UK.

TL:DR
Murder rate is off the charts compared to other countries. That may not be high on the list compared to deaths by other means in the US, but its high when compared to murder everywhere. You gotta compare apples to apples.

+Houdini
The source is crimeresearch.org/2015/06/comparing-death-rates-from-mass-public-shootings-in-the-us-and-europe/
Mass shootings have very little to do with "gun violence", being a tiny fraction of a percent of murders in _any_ country.
