    none of the other build video’s I have seen go into the detail of how to seal and trim the roof to sidewall. very instructive! your build video is by far the most detailed I have ever seen. care and precision of the build is incredible. I know capturing this project has been a ton of work for you. THANKS for sharing!!!

    It amazes me how you accomplish all that in a 1 car garage. If you only had about 2’ more in garage width it would certainly make building easier. Being an amateur woodworker I really appreciate your use of jigs to accomplish some of these tasks. I bet you’ve spent nearly as much in clamps and wood for jigs as you have in building materials. You can never have too many clamps!

    • @OregonBatman

      LOL! Yup... can never have too many clamps! Should have seen my garage when I was building my 6 x 12 RV... had to lose weight just to get around the thing! :)

      Hey Tony! I had the same issue with the aluminum trim I used on my 6 x 12. The metal was too stiff, not really the bendable type. The trim I purchased from Vintage Technology is the bendable aluminum... much easier to work with and very little kinking (if any at all)! Yup... highly recommend a butt-load of clamps! LOL!

    Your build videos are great help! You recommend using the 3M tape over butyl tape with as much success for limiting water leakage?

    • @OregonBatman
      @OregonBatman  4 роки тому +4

      Thank you Aaron! I recommend the 3M tape for sealing the edges, once the edges are sealed, use the butyl tape or your choice of sealant to prevent water leaks. If the sealant/butyl fails and water leaks do occur, the 3M tape will help prevent water from penetrating the edges into the wood.

    How does a 5/8 flange not kink when formed to an inside radius, especially a soft metal like aluminum?

    • @OregonBatman
      @OregonBatman  4 роки тому

      Hey Dave3000! That's the ticket... it is a softer aluminum designed for the RV industries able to take the bends. And with a gentle persuasion, able to handle the 8" radii.
      My little jig worked! My other option would have cost me $300 for a roller to bend the aluminum! Whew!
