Don’t think so, adding NaHCO3 should convert the nitric to sodium nitrate releasing CO2 gas, it should do the same with the hydrochloric acid converting it to NaCl releasing CO2 gas, lowering the acidity and pushing the pH up during the process. NaNO3 is an oxidiser (some ppl are using it to make “poor man’s AR”) so in acidic media together with the chloride ion should be able to dissolve (or re-dissolve) gold. If you add enough NaHCO3 to rise the pH to 11 the gold should precipitate as gold hydroxide together with other metals hydroxides… I had success denitrifying solutions with the help of formic acid (quite strong reaction and requires heating though)
@@OwlTech333 So its would be not worth it for using sodium bicarbonate because it would react with the nitric acid and produce sodium nitrate and make aqua regia back so gold is still disolve in a solution. Then how to denox the nitric acid since if you not neutralize it would fizz out the sodium metabisulfate and not percipitate the gold. So what chemical should i use instead of Urea or ammonia since it hard to get and expensive in my country, like i should travel 8km just for get urea for less than 1 dollar a kilo. Also i want to ask you did the home made iron sulphate would work well to percipitate the gold, since i hear that iron sulphate would not percipitate the PGM and only percipitate the gold.

Owl is right, it is not about neutralizing acid (pushing pH up), but about get rid of NO3- (strong oxidiser).
