Monarch Tagging

1,000 acres! That's how many acres of fields that the Wildlife Habitat Program maintains on Fish & Game Wildlife Management Areas across the state. This type of habitat is incredibly valuable for everything from bees to birds to bears and also butterflies including monarchs. Watch as wildlife educator Lindsay Webb tags a monarch at the Connor Farm Wildlife Management Area in Exeter. Tagging helps researchers track monarch migrations to/from their wintering grounds in Mexico.
