This was super helpful! I'd love to see more budget videos. I'm a newbie to this hobby and I was shocked by how much I spent, so I set myself a budget for the second half of the year and made a wish list page to try and prioritize which things I want. It's so easy to get carried away. I mostly picked up storage at the happy planner sale because I saw the sticker book storage boxes were 70% off, and I have 17 sticker books now and the dollar tree bins don't hold them reasonably. I did get the digital detox sticker book, though, because I've had my eye on that one and it was down to four dollars.
Yeah it's easy to get carried away when you first come into the hobby for sure! But as my Mother would say "if you have to buy storage for your stuff, you have too much stuff" LMAO! But you have 17 sticker books so you're doing ok! Currently I'm around 150-200 and I'm a lightweight compared to some planners!
I have started to look for sticker books that have it all! Words, boxes, flags. And or check mark bars, and decorative stickers. The more it has the easier it is for me to put a spread together. Last year I moved and those books were my go to books. Oh and I did 3 or 4 spreads so I didn't have to worry about it during the move.
hahahaha well I don't always go by this, sometimes stuff sneaks through the cracks. But a lot of it is learned through years of planning and knowing my style and preferences.
I went to Michael's and surprise Happy Planner was 30% off for back to school, then I went to the sticker areas and several were on clearance including this cute set of washi tape that looks like different wood grains. It came with 4 huge rolls of wood grain washi tape in 4 different tones. So then I found two different planner sets of stickers in the big that were 50% off! So now I just pop on line and in the store and search for the clearance area in the sticker area. The main reason i grab a sticker book is because one its on sale and two I love what I see in the book and know for sure it is something I will love using.
clearance section is my go-to area also Amy! And yep gotta be on sale and something I think I'll love. Too many times I've fallen prey to the orange clearance stickers and hated the sticker books! No more!!!!
Yeah I go through phases with HP books, but I love bold and bright as you know. If I could go back through time and not buy a few of the sticker books I would!
I’d love to know what you picked up from the sale! I won’t buy unless it is 40% or more off too. I got the Stargazer book in the sale with the big notebook for $11.69, super steal!
I will be posting what I bought in my Q2 budget update, it's shipped so should be here this week! Yeah I love stargazer, I bought one in the sale before, and bought another cos I thought it was a different book with the new covers, doh! BUT I am glad I did cos I love that book for my tarot planner!
Awesome video! I have never found a video with this info... But I've been wanting such a video to help me narrow down my purchases. Like seashells, there are always more stickers! A quick question ... How do you organize, if you do, single sheets? I have purchased sheets over the past few months from BSTs, sheets that I liked, rather than a book with lots I don't (ie I like the literal arrows from farmhouse with a few other pages, but mostly it's pretty but not if use for me). Now I've got around 1k sheets, about 20% are multiple copies, that I need to organize so I'll use them. 😊
Hey! Thanks for the lovely comment! Sticker sheets I'd keep in a small tote with dividers by type or put them in a ring binder. I don't have many loose sheets, but those I do I have in a half letter ring binder. You could also use a filing cabinet if you have one. Sort by theme or color.
Thank you for the reply! I think I'll first try sorting the stickers by categories into a bin with tab category dividers. Then maybe move each section to rings. I have plenty of the rings so I really should use them😉.@@CreativeKarmaDesign
yeah see how the bins work, and if they don't then move to rings. Gotta figure out what works for you. My issue with a lot of it is if I don't SEE it I don't USE it.

good idea on doing the spreads ahead of time! Yep I like a mix of functional and fun in my sticker books.
I wish I could go shopping with you 😆 🤣 . Seriously, your ideas and advice have helped me as a new planner.

@@CreativeKarmaDesign Totally 👍
Great tips, Di! Thank you for sharing. I don’t remember the last time I looked in the HP website. ❤
yeah honestly Ruth the only reason I went to look was because someone mentioned the sale in my comments lol!
@@CreativeKarmaDesign I would too, if it weren’t so pricey to ship and then add the exchange rate as well.
I love the Playful Tiles book too! Love bright, bold colors in my pages. But I am not much into HP at the moment...prefer LLP
