I think the Arrogant Worms are one of Canada’s best kept treasures. They’re just so funny, unique, hilarious, and talented! I’ve lost track of how many times I’ve seen them and I laugh so hard every single time. I just love them!
This is actually with the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra. It might be hard to find but you can find the whole concert with their album Semi-Conducted. Great road trip music.
Some years ago, drove with youngest offspring through to Winnipeg (kid's goal was tunnels of Moose Jaw but we kept going to see family). "Canada's Mighty Big" became the theme song as kid had no idea just how far we were travelling. But, returning home, we detoured into Regina to see that "mighty shore" otherwise known as the Wascana Slough.
They're actually from Ontario. The group that is from Edmonton goes by the name "Three Dead Trolls in a Baggie", they're most famous for the "War of 1812" song and the "Ontario Sucks" song.
These fellows are exceptionally clever. And there are little nuggets that are easy to miss. At 2:18, Chris accompanies the word "hay" with Fonzie's thumbs up for "hey".
I wrote a Manitoban version a few years back based off the original tune and lyrics from Arrogant Worms. Not published because I don't have their permission to do so.
lol, and thus is the power of Reddit revealed. Sadly, none of the actual members of the crew will likely know of this bit of viral traffic that occurred . . . and yet it's good to know that that many more people are aware of what they've made.
Well I just checked and Amazon has it under "Three Worms and an Orchestra" which is sad, cause the original title is "Semi-Conducted". Gosh, it's hard to find. I have to tell my friend to hold on to her copy, it's preciousssss! :)

Treasure, yes, if only their material were more readily available.
@@amycrunch3812 they stream on twitch lol
Texan here, my brother found them just typing silly words into Napster when we're in high school. My kids now know their songs too.😊
I love how it opens with such a heartfelt orchestral surge, and then gets goofier and bouncier from there
I LOVE this :) Haven't seen the DVD but saw the live show 3 times....cause I played in the orchestra :)
Okay i know this is years later but the musician in me needs to know how this was received in the squad
We love you sir ❤
Oh, nice!
Three people disliked this. They need to be made to walk the plank!
Now it's 9

you have no idea what it takes to set up a plank to walk while out at sea. Why it was used only once in recorded pirate history.
I wonder if it's just because of the resolution. I was agog myself until I read the explanation.
They had waaay too much fun singing this, backed by a full orchestra. :D

harelquindemon the whole DVD is even better. There’s some songs on there that aren’t on the album
@@JulieDelahooke One copy remaining.
I saw them perform back in 1999 in OR & Im going to see them again soon Im so excited.
My kids love this song!! We watch it every day!
So much fun! I saw them in Vancouver with the audience singing along. Love the Worms!
My mom was from Saskatchewan. I’ve _seen_ Regina’s mighty shores… which makes it even funnier. 🙂
I just adore this song and band so much.
I have the outline for an "The Arrogant Worms, The Musical" in my head..... This is the premise,,
christ, his cheekbones could slice bread. I've always loved the Worms but this is the first time I\ve seen them in tuxes. I highly approve. :)

If you don't know or know and don't like the Arrogant Worms, you don't deserve to be a Canadian XD
Well that's gonna shave down the Canadian population by like 35 million.
We can afford it😂🤣(dear god no)
Agree
This gotta be the best track ever, all categories.
My cousin and her wife live in Dog River, Sask and love this song. I am very fond of it as well.
Um... Dog River isn't a real place?
@@carlahemeon4453 I do not have permission to say where they live other than a farm near a small town somewhere between Flin Flon and Moosejaw.
Truly one of the great musical numbers of all time. Bach would be jealous.
That is the edmonton symphony orchestra if i'm not mistaken.
The whole of Saskatchewan just spat right now😂
Uh, it says so?
@@amycrunch3812 👏
My god, sir! What brilliant deduction you to that conclusion?
This is better than it had any right to be.
This is magnificent! I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am to hear this!

I propose this be the national anthem of the Independant Republic of Altasask. Whynot Aussies have waltzing Matilda?

+Mike Lee what does reddit have to do with the arrogant worms?
Got a wild hair, and added this vid to the /listentothis subreddit, and within 3 days it got as many views as it had over the past few years.
More like arrogant commenter😂
Shut the fuck up cringelord
r they a canadian group? i love themm i think they r
He sings too fast for the orchestra. Shame too, because this is otherwise the best version of this song by a long shot.
He does? They finish at the same time.
*Sniff*...Magic
Yessirreee!

Are there any videos of the rest of the concert? I remember they were up a long time ago, but now they seem to have been removed...
