    What cleaning solution do you use if there is a film left on the product after sublimation?

    How are you getting the red so vibrant? I have a icolor 600 with sub toners. Is there a better icc profile to use?

      We are using the RIP software that's included with the printer. You also want to make sure that you're giving your item enough time to "cook". If it's too little time, the colors may not reach their full vibrancy.

    Can you still use regular copy paper when sublimating other items like tumblers?

    Thank you for sharing, but can you do this process with dark shirts such as black cotton?

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  2 роки тому

      Yes, definitely. This video was made to show off the optional sublimation toner cartridges available for the UniNet iColor printers. These printers come standard with their regular toner, which works great for creating transfers for dark/cotton garments. An example of this would be Forever Laser Dark, which is demonstrated here: ua-cam.com/video/BbjbiiA8kFc/v-deo.html

      @@HeatPressNation so you should not use sublimation for dark color shirts?

    • @threadchemistry
      @threadchemistry 2 роки тому

      @@zeecalsdecals7482 No. He was very misleading about that. The black t shirt he showed I think he used the regular toners and was showing how it's still pretty soft, but does still print on top of the tee as opposed to into the actual fabrics which subli does. Sublimation is basically used more for promotional products unless you do a lot of poly gear like sport teams, "dri fit" polos, etc.

      In this video we used 380°F for 90 seconds on both the t-shirt and the key hanger.

    Do the sublimation cartridges need special care? Print head cleaning? Daily use?

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  2 роки тому +1

      No, they can be swapped in and out with the regular toner and stored as necessary (dry, temp-controlled storage). The sublimation toner for the UniNet iColor printers is a dry toner, so maintenance is almost non-existent. There's no need for daily printing, head cleaning, or anything like that.

    Any idea how to calculate cost per print?

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  11 місяців тому +1

      Yes, iColor estimates the cost per print to be at 40 cents, including the paper. The starter toner cartridge yield is 1,000 pages while the standard size has a yield of 2,500 pages.

    Is this better than 8432?

    • @HeatPressNation
      @HeatPressNation  2 роки тому

      The UniNet iColor 650 (heat.press/icolor650) is going be very similar to the OKI/Crio 8432WT. The main difference is that the iColor 650 will come with both the RIP software and SmartCut software. SmartCut allows you to break up larger prints to fit onto several smaller sheets of transfer media.
      The iColor printers are compatible with UniNet's different interchangeable toners. These greatly expand what you're able to print on with your 650. They are sold separately and can be found here: www.heatpressnation.com/collections/uninet

  • @threadchemistry
    @threadchemistry 2 роки тому +1

    This is outdated. Uninet now has the icolor 350 which is a sublimation printer and only about $1,500. If you already have the 560 though not much reason to get the 350. If you're doing only sublimation then you can save quite a bit of money by only getting the 350 and not spending the $4K on the 560. Also, one of the cons he said about the 560 was the possible cleaning afterward. Now they offer SubliClean sheets you put in between the product you're printing on and the transfer sheet..

    Why is that when I print with the sublimation ink, it has smudge mark on the paper. I print two different images and it did the same thing.

      I tried that too but it's not working. I'm going to try running it about five times to see if that will clear it up.
