OMG!! What I wouldn't have given to attend this. I mean Dion and Paul Simon what could be better??😊😊😊😊❤
Only Dion Dimucci could have Paul Simon as back vocal,,, love it. 🙏🙏🙏🙏
How epic is that!!!
Right- who else could command that kind of respect? YES IT IS EPIC! Wow what a performance
Some team, eh? WOW!
Says a lot about what kind of person Paul Simon is.
When Dick Clark passed away, Dion became America's oldest teenager. He's in his 6th decade of performing and recording. One of the last of that great 1950's and early 60's era He went on to record many albums later.
I never saw it that way but now that you said it it sounds right to me
Dion looks amazing for his age ..very youthful ..still has the swagger ..still sounds great.Rock on
+R Schlessel U got that right R
He still got it
Dion epitomizes "cool"---he knows he's badass but without arrogance--seems at ease and comfortable where ever he is!
You'd look youthful if you'd never done a day's work in your life. His voice is fucked though
Yeah! That Bronx swagger still knocks me out! I loved him when I was 10, I still love the guy now that I'm 70!
Rock on Dion!
hands down the best live version, captures the energy of the recording perfectly
Look up Dion and Dave Edmunds on YT Fantastic
Absolutely my favorite Rock 'N' Roll artist of all time. 6 decades of music and still cranking out albums, mostly Blues nowadays.
You had to be a kid from the boondocks working the fields after 10p listening to this on a transistor radio strapped to the back of his tractor. I was 12. It was a different world.
the thing that always floors me about dion is theres always a moment in all his songs, one special moment, when two things happen, 1. the underlying tragedy in life is exposed (with my two fists of iron, but im going NOWHERE) and 2. simultaneously YOUR HEART EXPLODES WITH JOY!
that is a mystery to me
this song for example,on the surface is not deep, its youthful swagger, but then there's that moment that makes your heart hurt and jump at the same time
there's something deep going on there,
as an artist he touches something so subtle, so hidden deep in our souls, we can't even understand it, its primal
ITS TRAGIC AND LIFE AFFIRMING!!??
there is something deeply profound going on there but its to fragile to grasp, it cant be expressed in words, and thoughts or concepts
you can only feel it, its a punch in the gut that feels good????
its like those moments in italian opera where the clown on stage is suicidal but the audience is rockin
i dont know what im talking about here, but , do you feel me?
Wow that's deep and heavy🤔
I grew up with Dion, and still love him. God Bless.
same here.
you can tell the adoration Simon reserves for this man. NYC born and bred.
Man Dion's stuff just DOES NOT get old, tried or ever lack enthusiasm does it? :) LOVE this man!!!
Well done thanks alot for your time to give us music over the years ago it's great
YO!! This is the best - Dion, is fantastic! I love that he still sounds great & you can just the "enthusiasm & joy" within, his performance. I also loved how P.Simon & the back-up singers, sang around just one "Mic", like a Doo-Wop group, back in 'the day :)
Back in the day, when this song first came out, I loved the guy and I still do. He's wearing dad jeans now, but he's still got that charisma.
You want the record? Play the record, and let Dion have a good time on stage. I, for one, dig watching and hearing what Dion does. Keep rockin' in the free world.
havent listened to much blues music in my 73 years but after hearing dions last 2 blues albums its not to late to start go dion
Really great stuff. New album out now Blues with Friends that has some outstanding material. He’s an American treasure.
Love this guy,what a gem
Dude is an absolute legend! + he can sing it however the fuck he wants it's his song. Lol and for everyone saying he doesn't sound the same hes like 80 chill.
Right
I grew up listening to Dion, and he is still rocking hard 60 years later. I asked myself when I found his channel, Dion and the Belmonts???? What a pleasant surprise!
Dion is great!! You should listen to the song with him and Paul Simon. It's called New York is my home. Dion is from the Bronx like me and Paul Simon is from Queens, NY. they're both still on top of their game. And Dion looks great for his age.
Do you think he butchered
+Scott Yi no because he is the wanderer. He can't butcher his own song
He's great!!! Besides he's from the Bronx. Wonder if I ever bumped into him. lol love him!!
Yeah man, the Bronx ! I grew up not far from where Dion grew up. And I'm still here in the Bronx.
Cool. I visit every so often. Don't live far from the Bronx, thank goodness. It will always be my home.
Its kinda odd seein Paul singing backup...lol...Dion s voice is very solid and strong...sounded awsome...that sax solo smoked
dion is really a blues singer at heart and if you know the genre youll hear that feel in this rendition
dion rules no matter what he does
Loved and still love DION.
Kickin’ Butt.....The King of the New York streets! 🤴
Hes amazing he still sounds and looks great !!!
So cool to see Dion jamming on stage , especially because his age! I’m sure mobsters who are his age love this song! I can picture young and trying to make their bones around the same time this song came out , who later on joined the mafia and who ran $hit!!
I love your music
Thanks for the memories. Especially, the Dion and the Belmont reunion concert from home in NYC at Madison Square Garden. The only one!
awesome version, keep rocking dion
this is fantastic!
i see a couple of negative comments, not quite sure if they just heard/saw the same clip I did. Mine was awesome!
It's because they don't understand I've been following Dion since 1958
It's a no brainer for me..My All-Time Favorite Male singer/artist, ever.!..His songs were the inspiration for me, singing in the shower....WITH the windows open.!(haha..lol)...His songs were also responsible for bringing me back to the most precious, special memories and experiences of my Life.!.His music also gave me the srength and balls to walk across the floor to ask a girl to dance..A frightening experience in itself.!..His music also warmed the hearts of many "chicks", allowing shy guys like me to even "date", and go "steady" with some of them.(haha.lol)Dion's voice was easily recognizable, even when you heard it on the radio or closed your eyes..It was the "CLASSIC" voice that represented the awesome and amazing songs and music of the 1950's...1960's..and the early seventies, even until now..He is also a great song writer..A wonderful, exciting, story teller , with a great sense of humor..If you ever had the honor and privilge to see him perform Live, you would know exactly what i mean...You must be special to have a Legend like Paul Simon singing back up to you.!..When God decides he needs this wonderful, talented, special performer and Human Being, to do a concert with HIM, for the Angels and all of our Loved ones and Family in in Heaven..Dion will be truly be missed,,but NEVER forgotten..His songs, music, entertainment...and his contributions in the music industry, our society, and to the world..As an artist and person...Will always Live on, eternal..in all the minds, hearts and souls that he touched, inspiring others while we were Blessed and lucky, to be part of his Legacy while he was with us in this world.!..Thank you Dion...for being you.!!!......peace&prayers
Ducking flawless performance, simply incredible.
Me a and my brother was born and raised in the bronx and my brother used to see Dion singing on the street rehearse him and the 4 seasons from N.j
I must have missed this when it aired,.. This is a nice vsn pf a current classic.. Theyve still got it,, I must say,,
Runaround DION..great
Going to see DION AT THE TROPICANA IN ATLANTIC CITY NOVEMBER 5,2016 MY THIRD TIME SEEING HIM
She is happy and you are a misery That's the reason she posts, you on the other hand are Just a Sad thing, Does that answer your question, Mr. Nobody?
Yeah, got that Mr.Nobody !!
Yeah well anyway I sure like to see him in person
I love Rock and Roll.
Now, That's MUSIC! Doo-Wop Forever!~
This should have about 30 million more likes! Fantastic!
Man the 50/60's were kick ass ! thx dion 😀
The true king of rock and roll right there.
un grande !
Love you Bronx boy!!
Dion rules and that is all I got to say!!!!!! LOL.
Simply the best: Ever.
I was at both shows. They were BOTH amazing. I don't know which anniversary shows you saw. The first night saw Bruce w/ Joel, Jeff Beck w/ Stevie, and plenty of other unique moments of rock history. Perspective is EVERYTHING.
que grande, fabuloso!
Too cool for words!
Dion... Please, forever...
muy bueno
soo great.
Dion still has the voice and looks. He is still HOT!!!!
What a song
We can say CLASSIC!!!!!!!!!
Love it!
Rock 'n Roll Forever
dion is so obviously the coolest....
Dion will ALWAYS be "still rockin it" !
Simply the best
My man!
Love Dion
Arno Hecht KILLIN' IT on the sax solo !
THE KING ON THE CORNER!!!
That drummer, I think, is Charley Drayton.
Yes, and he's still recording I think some blues songs.
way cool
hell yeah!
It is an "answer song" to Runaround Sue
Surprised by this duo.
the walking definition of cool
Love Dion seen him person twice
I I love Roar music
no one is cooler than Dion.
I must be the only one who isn't deaf, he comes out and says "Runaround Sue" and begins to sing "The Wanderer"
Hey that's okay that's his song too and if you don't like it too bad
Why did he say "run around sue", then sing Wanderer? Because he's f'ing Dion and he can.
Yeah that's right
Dion?? top man and always modest.
The Greatest street doowop singer and along with Neil Diamond the two best entertaining singers of my generation
A killer from my youth.
I’ve always said the Belmonts needa be inducted. Desperately. Dion, Freddie, Carlo, Angelo, and maybe Warren Gradus who replaced Carlo and has been playing guitar for the Belmonts since 1963. That’s pretty impressive. Plus Angelo is still with the newest incarnation of the Belmonts.
a great paesan
Dion.
I knew I heard this song somewhere before hearing it again in Fallout 4
Ben Nobl
Sounds better than the original!
Fucking Awesome
Why ? He can say what he likes !! Great...
When was this ? Anyone know ?
2010 I believe
He really doesn't sound the same anymore does he? But i still love Dion and this song. He still sounds good though!
That's right and it's okay😀👍
Hollywood may have had the sutetos but the east coast gave California the best Pizza ever and the best actors ever
Oh, man who did the "you tube" mix for this? I can hardly hear the background vocals and the band. Was this the tv broadcast mix? You guys in the truck should be paying more attention. Shame on you! Dion is an icon, as well as all of these other performers. What you lack ? R-E-S-P-E-C-T!
Woops. Said the wrong song title at the beginning.
Um ...I think he was having a senior moment and forgot what song he was about to sing!
Whatever you say but that's still okay
$36 cost of a seat on the ill fated plane on 2/3/1959 saved Dion's life!
Rave on
Why did he say Runaround Sue before the Wanderer? Senile, high? Or both?
Oh yeah it's so easy to criticize everybody isn't it if you don't like it too bad probably cuz you jealous of him
THINK....
Why did he say runaround sue
Mrgruntparty Probably because that's the album "The Wanderer" is from. But I could be wrong
Album
Because he wanted to okay is that okay with you??
Anyone realize where Dion screwed up?
Right b4 the same no started. If your a Fan, you would of caught it!!!
A true fan doesn't bash an artist for changing things up---its his song, his choice.
Duon with paul simon as backup man taylor swift or kanye west with all their money couldnt buy cool like this !!!
Not to be a buzz kill, but as much as Dion deserves his place in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, so, too, do his fellow Belmonts. It's hard not to conclude that they were cheated out of their rightful place in the spotlight. Someday the backstory will hopefully reveal the truth behind this injustice. And I pray to God Dion had nothing to do with it. That would be a tremendous let-down.
frisco21 what?
He had some of the greatest songs that ever were
Love you like I do was just one of the greatest songs that were ever made not to mention The Wanderer
The fault is entirely on the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. They leave out so many people who deserve to be inducted, it’s not funny.
