As a young Newfoundlander, who is on a journey to self sufficiency and to distance my dependance on a government that has failed our province repeatedly, it brings a smile to my face to see well written, well prepared documentaries such as this surface in my UA-cam feed. Todd and the b'ys are leading the way in a return to normalcy for our ancient culture. And you shot in my hometown of Carbonear, which is the icing on the cake.
This was an accurate portrayal of rural Newfoundland, and an honest explanation of the seal harvest. As was stated in the video, nearly 100% of the seal is utilized. The animals is not just hunted for pelts or penises as the ignorant anti-hunters claim. And with recent estimates numbering the herd at over 8 million, the harp seal is very healthy and absolutely NOT endangered.
@@DaniHMcV I have never heard anyone ever say newfinland. im on this rock from 77 till now and never step foot anywhere else. its new FA land. we never say it slow enough to say fin. to my ears anyway.

Glad to see not only Newfoundland on this show, but the seal hunt being portrayed accurately!

Can't prononce Newfoundland properly 😭😱
NEW------FINN--------LAN...........
There is no "lund" on the end if Newfoundland. It's New-fn-land. Lard Tunder'in
its new found land....not new FIN land -- understand newFOUND land
Z Zon we don't say found. We say new fa land.
Wrong, it’s NEW-fin-LAND. That’s coming from someone born and raised there with family who’s been there almost 300 years.

I'm from the bonavista Peninsula, we pronounce it New-fn-land.
