Fess Parker's Davy Crockett was my hero.
Yeah, well Fess Parker's Daniel Boone was my hero, so there.
Wow! The kid from those Narnia movies has really grown up.
I'm think I might give it a chance
That split bullet on axe scene sold me
1:53 THAT WAS COOL AS HECK
thanks for the warning. now I know to void it.
It has the Hollywood over-dubbed clickity clack clack noise every time someone raises a weapon... 🙄
Davy, Davy Crockett, King of the wild Frontier!!!!!
You really can't tell a lie big enough to exaggerate the man.
"Part tornado, part crocodile, with just a touch of earthquake". (Paraphrased)
No Tennessee accent?
More Westerns… gotta love Costner for this resurgence
I was hoping for an epic that went from congress to the Alamo but I guess they went in a different direction
the cheaper to film direction
Colm Meany as a baddie? Sign me up!
The whole war resulting in the Texan Republic was about Southern planters moving into leased land with slaves, which was against the law and constitution in Mexico. Santa Ana was sent to enforce the Mexican laws. When the Texans won they wrote a constitution legalizing slavery and did it again when they became a state. THAT is history. The real David Crockett despised being called Davy which was the name of a fictional character invented during Col. Crockett's lifetime... From the trailer I can see little historic accuracy in story.. sets or props... Very much like the fictional stories based on the man.. this may be entertaining.. just not history... Signed.. a 7th generation Tennessean
Still looks cool, but the real story of Davy Crockett is better
Colm Meaney of Con Air notoriety really likes to take a drink, eh? My mans is looking rough.
How do I watch this and not pick apart the non historical aspects? With an open mind for a hopefully, good story maybe.
"When the legend becomes fact, print the legend" -- from the movie The Man Who Shot Liberty Valance, starring John Wayne and Jimmy Stewart.
@@5UserName0 very good reply.
This seems like it's trying to replicate what Disney did back in the 50s, on a much more action packed and violent scale.
But then, if there is money to be made, corporations and the men who run them will do pretty-much anything it takes to get it.
For fun, yeah. For history....nah.
based on a true story....kinda...sorta...I guess.
Better than most of the crappy movies nowadays.
This is GARBAGE! I wish someone would ready Davy Crockett’s bio book and follow that and make a movie about it!
Walt Disney was the closest but still missed a lot of Davy’s life.
Prefer Fess!❤
I wonder if Davey will introduce himself with is pronouns?
Fess Parker was better
Is this ANOTHER fictional rendering ? he didn't call himself Davy nor encouraged anyone else to.
They should of called it something else and put it on HBO, but not Davey Crockett, I'd watch it, at least they left him white 😂
Doesn`t look woke at least
Fuck history right
Wait he’s not black, how is this acceptable for DEI standards? 🤦♂️
Doesn’t even sound like Tennessee. Screw this
I didn't get paid to comment, so I speak truth: this is crap.
Do they address the issue of the Alamo fighters supporting slave owners moving into Texas against the constitution of Mexico? That is usually ignored.
That's BS.

Looks pretty bad. I would let king Peter lotion my feet though
: )
Sorry but this looks terrible. Could possibly be a front runner for a golden raspberry award! 🤮
Looks so terrible
As a historian who specializes in the frontier, I got very excited... and then very disappointed. Why make a fictional movie about David Crockett when his actual life was so amazing and inspirational?
I think I will pass...it doesn't look very historically authentic.....Is it a Woke remake of History? We have to ask the question....
Michael Knowles suggests it on his show so surely not woke
About as historically accurate as a Star Trek movie, but looks entertaining at least.
at least he is white that's a positive
If it has Colm, then it's going to be good :)
who's Colm?@@rcgunner7086
You mean he didn't kill two guys at the same time by splitting a bullet with an axe??
@stevenfoulger6066 No, but he did kill him a bear when he was only 3. 😂😂
If you wanna make a period action movie... make it. Don't butcher history and use a popular name to sell tickets. Most of the population is already ignorant of history... you're not helping. 😂
Looking forward to watching. Looks like a good action flick. I understand that the history buffs might have wanted a documented account, but c’mon, the guy is the subject of folktales. Half of the stories about these guys are made up and exaggerated. Crazy that there are haters out there with something negative to say about a 2 minute trailer. I would never waste my time to spread negativity like that over a movie trailer.
“Haters gonna hate hate hate hate hate.”
Taylor Swift (lol)
I agree, I just hope it is good,
no hatred, but really....seriously?
Yeah,, the only trailers I really like to $#it on are the 'woke' ones... lol
Why make yet another fictional story ?
What in the hell? Why does hollywierd do this crap
This was an independently-made film.
@@susantherestorer it’s still crap and lies
From Tennessee. Big Crockett fan. Think this will be entertaining. Been looking forward to it since I heard about them filming here.
Where was it filmed?
It’s not what happened, the real story is way better
Entertaining yes But After seeing him throw an axe at the tree instead of one of the men only to shoot both men by splitting his bullet on the two headed axe.. Something tells me they bent the truth on this one just tiny
@@anthonykryzak273 the true story is seriously so much better. You should read American legend by Buddy Levy
this looks like the first half of 'the patriot'. not that i'm complaining, the patriot is a great movie. 👍
Kind of has that Abraham Lincoln vampire hunter vibe to it.
Thank you DAVY for giving this 6th generation Texan freedom. I will never forget the Alamo. 1836 will never be forgotten by me. You did not die in vain.
lol
Remember the Alamo!
Remember Goliad!
This is so wrong on many accounts. How do people get money to finance films like this? SMH
What movies do you go see? How accurate are they?
Why not just do the real story? He kilt him a bear when he was only 3, for crying out loud!
Love your sarcasm...
No thanks. The real story of David Crockett is ten times better than any fictional tale.
I have to agree with you
I agree, but when I was a kid, there was a show called Daniel Boone. If you watch, it is full of crap. But it made me look up people who lived and of course Boone never met. But I learned about B. Franklin, Arron Burr, just to name a few. Back then I started with World Book, but with shows like that and Walt Disney, I learned about DC, the Swampfox and Daniel Morgan. I just kept researching about these people, I knew TV was wrong, so I read what a lot of people wrote. My point is this, I found a love of history and what the true stories about these people. I think the best portrayal of DC was Billy Bob Thronton in the Alamo. I think he was like that in real life or something close.
@outdoorlife539 We’ll said!
You might be interested in the book, “Longknife”. Excellent read about George Roger’s Clark, older brother of William Clark (of Lewis and Clark), a pioneer/soldier who influenced William Clark to partner in the expedition.
@@outdoorlife5396 I wish they'd make it their own tale instead of piggybacking off of a historical figure.
@@AlamoSentry I get your point, but my point is, maybe it will encourage to see what happened. The character could be fictional and have the same thing. In my youth I had a job, I see on TV or movies all the time. The other day, we were busting a gut laughing at one of those action movies. You see the weapon he had and the way he was firing it, well the movie was almost 2 hrs. He was out of ammo in about 15 minutes, so in real life he would be playing pocket pool. I just saying they do it with my job all the time. Most people have to know TV and the movies are FOS.
All I ask here is that you hear me out. I love historical movies, and I am absolutely thrilled that a modern movie of Davy Crockett is being made. But why do modern historical movies have to look so dark? The colors are so dark, and depressing. Why not bring back the colorful glow of the old Disney movies? The color of The Ten Commandments movie with Charlton Heston? Why not bring back the colorful, sunny glow, of the old series "Davy Crockett" with Fess Parker? Why make the colors so dark, gloomy, and depressing looking?
Actually, this one, for the most part, is done with natural lighting/color (except for one scene that felt rather like it could have been lifted from the movie).
Yup...y'all are going to fuk this story up. No thanks.
From High King of Narnia to King of the Wild Frontier.
From the frontier. to Congress, to the Alamo, you know his name.
Looks good to me. Mosley was great in On The Line.
So basically a paint-by-numbers action flick with Davy Crockett's name tagged on to get some attention.
Interesting. Looks like Hollywood changing history again. And......no disrespect to Mr. Mosely, who I remember from TV's The Royals but, they could'nt find a good ole' country American to play Davey Crockett? One of the greatest American legends of all time???? Sad.
Davey Crockett with a British accent. How do people put this stuff out ?
Moseley fakes an American accent in the film.
Looks about as historically accurate as "Davy Crockett vs. Cocaine Bear"
Looks VERY good.
Thank God it won't be what usually happens with movies today where they make Crockett a "strong empowered black woman"
This looks pretty good! Is this in theaters or streaming?
Was in select theaters yesterday, streaming everywhere today.
An actual fact based film about Davy Crockett would’ve been a huge hit. Why this ?
A true historically accurate film would require much more talent in writing.. directing and far more money for costumes.. sets and props... Sadly.. most viewers today would not care and just want to be entertained.. not informed...
Because people are more interested in being entertained than learning actual facts.
Because this was cheaper to film and easier to write.
My history is a little fuzzy in this area, but to say this was freely adapted is ‘Abit of an understatement, Govna’!
Looks like a Hallmark melodrama.
That’s not a bad thing
Straight to redbox
I don’t really see the connection to it being a Davy Crockett story other than the fact that that’s what they’re calling him. I mean there’s no Indians or wild animals. To be fair there seems to be a scene where he’s in congress possibly but then he goes into John Wick mode so hopefully it doesn’t go too modern with the action sequences. I’ll give it a chance but it doesnt look too promising based on the trailer.
I'm glad this isn't a modern Disney remake. Davy might have been reimagined to some woke fantasy, a Davy becomes Debbie story of some sort.
Why are you so terrified is it because you're afraid of your own sexuality
@@whitey3624 Why do you care?
easily the dumbest comment I've ever read on youtube. congrats.
He would be black as a minimum.
@@whitey3624 Crockett was straight. One doesn't have to be terrified of whatever to state that
Fiction and non-fiction mixed to entertain an audience. Don't take it seriously. They all die in the end.
His life was interesting enough this is to theatrical for me.
meh. :/
Awesome! Can’t wait to see it!
Very disappointed...I thought this was going to be a real tale of Davey Crockett. With such a crazy and colourful life I can't imagine why you would want to tell some B.S. story?
Yeah and Abraham Lincoln was a vampire hunter 🙃
If David Crockett was embarrassed by the stage plays about him in his life time, how embarrassed would he be by this movie?
No. As a Tennessean Davy Crocket's real story is amazing enough without making up some crazy fiction. They music is embarrassing and the acting not great. Tennessee deserves better.
Not exactly a period score, is it?
I see that more often in recent films... I find it very distracting...
Looks like Hollywood bullshit, complete with a little pretty boy in the role. And if you want to be "real", it was DAVID. Not Davy.
we already have the Fess Parker movies....
No token black characters or panderverse i see... Might actually be worth watching
I think that last scene shown where he shoots the ax blade to split the bullet was a copy from the old Wild, Wild West TV show.
Actually that shot was (if the tales are correct) done buy another famous man in tennesee :-) congressional medal of honor 🎖 recipient. Alvin york :-)
This could have been Davey Crockett Vampire Hunter…but noooooo we have to have a fake story
Appears like a poorly written Western that they pinned Crockett's name on.
Lost me a bit when he used an ax in a tree to split a bullet to hit two guys. WTF!
Let's put this puppy to bed. Even the most celebrated show about DC was done by Walt Disney. He made ton off it. He tried to redo the money with the Swampfox. But that said, it was loosely based on DC. He did fight in the Creek war, but nothing like what was shown. He did go to Congress and die at the Alamo. But when I say LOOSELY, I mean loosely. LOL
The music ruins it ...
This isn't your Daddy's Fess Parker's Crockett lol
Davy Crockett as John Wick? Who wrote this tripe?
He preferred David.
this cant be real, a movie with a strong male character?
Hollywierd fluff with no link to history…..
I’m gonna watch
I’m sorry. Political correctness and historical deconstruction will not allow an accurate portrayal even though we have the man’s written account in his journals.
You cannot be serious? Crockett! Is thr TV industry or Hollywood that short on novel and new characters ?? How's about a Frontier Bear who hunts with a rifle forBad Dudes and wears a Coonskin Cap and a Bear Skin Coat! Killed his cousin sometime skinned him and then ate him!!!😄🇨🇦
A far cry from Disney's Crockett. It looks like if they didn't call it Davy Crockett, no one would recognize it. Like most of the "action" movies today, this trailer appears to be done by the same people; thundering timpanies, quick fades, etc. Saw little in this trailer that really pertains to Crockett and his family.
this is a purly false tale
I know the real story is better. However, I rarely watch anything put out anymore. Would love to see a movie on Louis Wetzel, Daniel Boone, Comanche Lords of the Plains, etc.
Looks like fun, I'll give it a go.
I think this is great. Crockett himself spun a variety of tall tales purposely for amusement. I think he would have found this fun
Why can't these stupid writers write actual history. The truth would have been far more interesting and entertaining. Why is everyone afraid of the reality of the past???
Doesn't anyone in Hollywood have a good imagination!? Same crap over and over, remakes and reboots ☹️
Why not just his real story though? The man's real life was more dramatic and exciting than any film.
Can’t succeed. The main character isn’t a gender fluid DEI box checker. /s
