I was going to make something very much like that only with a concrete table and a 14" blade. I ended up getting an Austrian slider. But you will love using that rig you are making there.
If the bearings were stationary and the rails moved, the extension could be pushed out of the way when not in use instead of the rail always sticking out in front of the saw.

Hi, wonderful video. I am familiar with where I can find linear bearings, guide rails, etc but cannot find the hand lever stop/brake/lock things anywhere. I see one with the ruler link you provide but am looking for the ones you use to stop the bearings on the rail or for extruded aluminum tracks. Thanks!

You can make a great looking sliding table for your saw but you can't make a damn push stick so you don't lose a thumb? I love the build, but safety is why we all get to go home with all of our body parts at the end of the day.
