Thanks for the kind words. As fas as how often to post, we always say that you should decide based on how often you can keep it up. Daily posts are fine if you can manage it over time, but if you'll eventually drop significantly below that then I'd recommend to find a rhythm that works for you. - C

Thank you for all you do! Your delivery is outstanding. I love that I can quickly apply the information you share. I'm super late joining the High Season Co page but thankfully your information is relevant today. Question: So am I correct to conclude that ranking high in the niche category improves your ability to rank in the mid and popular hashtags?
Thank you so much, Karlotta! So happy to hear that, stoked to have you here. That's not specifically confirmed, but if you're doing great in multiple niche hashtags, that would mean your engagement overall is high, which will result in more followers and therefore the chances of ranking higher in the larger hashtags would increase. - C

I'm a social media manager and while I already know a lot of this info, this video helped me organize my thoughts and create an actionable workflow. Thank you for this! Will be subscribing to see your other videos!!
This is great @High Season Co. but is there a new workaround for finding the related hashtags since IG doesn't show them like they used to on this video? @12:40 on this video
Hi Teri! Unfortunately, there's not - this is an older video hence the "related hashtags" section was still there. Now we just use the Instagram search function and look at the similar suggested hashtags. Thanks for watching! - C
Another great video! This was awesome to watch because it confirmed a lot of the things I was kind of doing but is very reconfirming that’s these are strategies you recommend :) thank you so much for the value :)
Great video. I will be using this strategy. On my business account, my impressions don’t show how many are from hashtags. Any idea how I can change this? Thanks
Thank you! It doesn't always say, there's no way to edit the Insights unfortunately. Some of our accounts show it, some don't, and overall it's extremely inconsistent. - C
I just discovered you guys and am really enjoying your videos! Such great advice!! Do you have any tips for how to post with hashtags right now in the US? All the recent posts on the hashtags are hidden (as I'm sure you know). I would LOVE some advice! You guys are awesome!
Thanks Allie! So you can use hashtags as normal, the Recent Posts is only removed due to the election stuff so it'll be back soon. Hashtags still work as always, you can still be found via hashtags so don't change anything, just keep using them. - CC
Pleasure! Avoid the big hashtags and stick with more niche, local hashtags. Those always work better for hyper local businesses. This video is a guide, you'd want to adjust it to your specific conditions. - C
These tips were certainly useful! Thanks! Just starting my media/photography company and these were helpful. I'm clueless when it comes to hashtag use lol
Thank you! Congrats on the new business! So happy this video could help you navigate the hashtag world lol. If you ever have social media questions let us know, we have Q&A segments and would be happy to answer them in one of our videos.
Hello! Thank you for the valuable information! I I understand the hashtag strategy thanks to you guys, but where do I put these hashtags? In comments? can you please clarify.
Love all of your education here guys! Thank You! Im just curious about suggested hashtags When I search one in my niche, its not showing the suggested hashtags as shown on your example in the video. Did IG take this feature away? Can anyone help me with this question please?
Thanks Michael! Yes, unfortunately this is an older video and they've since removed that feature. It's super disappointing as it was extremely helpful when coming up with hashtags. Now you just need to do it a little more manually. You can still type in a keyword, but you'd have to scroll the list of the options presented and check each one to see if it's a fit - C
Thanks! I help support a social media account for an organization. I used only 15 hashtags based on this strategy, and in a few hours, we are already more than twice hour average engagement and impressions. Now more research for me to complete my hashtags. Great job! 🌟
Love hearing these kinds of stories! Thanks for sharing and so happy you're already finding results with this strategy. 🙌 Keep up the great work and let us know if you ever have any other questions you want answered in an upcoming video! - T
I recently stumbled upon your channel and I immediately subscribed as you are the first who actually give clear tips. I tried this method and one of my posts literally blowed up, however it hasn't been working at all on my latest posts. My account has only 1K genuine followers any idea why this strategy stopped working?
Thanks so much for the kind words. So it all depends on the content itself, it has to be engaging and people have to like it. You can never really tell which pieces of content will work - the ones you're certain will work rarely do, and the ones you aren't a fan of are the ones that end up getting traction. Keep trying different things, make sure you're using specific hashtag banks for each content category, and it should work. - C
@@Highseasonco I love that you took some of your time to answer my questions, it is highly appreciated! I will definitely take into consideration what you have just said.
Question for you guys . I post at least 2 reels a day and don’t see a lot of growing now I see I have been missing all this hashtags tips . Do you recommend going back to those newer reels and adding hashtags or is it too late to change that ?
You could add the hashtags to the older Reels but it's mostly a waste of time. You'd be best to focus on making sure all of your new posts are using our 3-tag approach (hashtags, location tags, account tags, alt text) and you'll be good to go. Thanks for watching! - C
Another fantastic video, thank you guys! It never would have occurred to me to use hashtags with smaller engagement for the reasons presented, gonna implement some of that and see how it goes. Here's a question for you, might even make a good video topic: how would you guys approach doing teaser campaigns on Instagram where you have a physical product you're going to sell but are still developing said product and still have some time before it's ready for launch?
Thank you for the kind words, Daniel! The niche hashtags typically generate much higher results than the larger ones, I think you'll definitely see some success. Great idea - the answer would be too long for a comment, but that could make a solid video. We'll add it to the list! - C
Hey there! Great video :) I have been wondering lately if the approach to hashtags for reels is the same as the one you've recommended for posts? Since reels are the latest feature, wanted to optimize the hashtag usage for it as much as possible. Thanks, love your videos - very educational for someone like me who is just starting off social media branding.
Hey Darshni! Thank you for the kind words, so happy the videos are helping :) For Reels, we'd suggest to use the same hashtag strategies as feed posts and videos, we've seen nothing so far to indicate that the process is different. As always, create hashtag banks around the topics you post about and make sure the right one is posted on the Reel, and you're good to go. Thanks! - C
The related hashtags section was removed last year sometime. We did a new video last week with a way around that - ua-cam.com/video/NLpDv7iwFgs/v-deo.html. - C
Thank you so much for all your smart advices 🥰 My problem is : as I click on a hashtag, I don’t get the relevant hashtags has mentioned in your video Shall I activate something ? It doesn’t work either in my shop and creator account ☹️ (I live in France)
You can, but I wouldn't go too far back as timeliness is accounted for in the algorithm, so it wouldn't push it back into the feed but it may help it rank under the hashtags. - C
You absolutely can, but the algorithm won't favour them and push the posts to more people. However, the posts should turn up in the hashtag pages so it's worth it if it's not too much trouble/time consuming. - C
Ok so i tried this on a few of my older posts and they did get some traction infact even some of my other posts started moving so I'd say it is a possible strategy. Obviously it would have been better if I had done this in the first place but i hadn't seen this video yet 😋
If we're honest, we don't use Tik Tok and aren't really familiar with the way their algorithm works. I'd imagine it'd be a similar thing but I just can't tell you for certain. - C
Thank you for answering my question I do have one more for you! What is the recommend mix for for the content types? I know you guys explained by number but should there be a certain type of location hashtags vs interior design hash tags. ( I am referring to content banks you guys mention at 15:14.)
@@heycambio No worries! So for content types, try and include Reels, carousels and in-feed images in a balance that you can manage consistently. If you can do one of each per week, stick with that, for example. For the tags, you can only do one location tag (it appears at the top, under the handle). A location tag isn't a hashtag, it's a totally different thing. If you're posting about interior design, then for sure use ID hashtags but customize them to the content category you're posting about. Hope that helps! - C
@@Highseasonco I apologize I mean content hashtag. For example at the 15:19 minute mark you mention creating a bank of hash tags for each Hashtag Category Bank. For the hotel example you mentioned interior design has a group of hash tags restaurant has a group of Hash tags and location has a group of hashtags. For each post what is the mix of hashtags I should use for our of each band. Would it be 10 restaurant hashtags 10 interior design hashtags and 10 location based hashtags?
@@heycambio Oh right! So for each category, you use only hashtags that apply. For example, if your post is about Interior Design, then all 30 hashtags should be about ID, there's no point using restaurant hashtags when there's no restaurant in the image. Create banks for each content category that are specific for that category. - C
It has, it's incredibly frustrating as that was by far the best way to find new hashtags. Currently, the closest workaround we've found is when you're searching for hashtags, there are similar alternatives in the search results. It's not as good as the related hashtags but it's still helpful. - C
Hey guys great content it changed my perspective towards hastag and I had a is there any order to place hashtags from high to low or vice versa or can it be placed randomly do reply it would be of much help
Great question - typically quarterly is a great timeframe. Keep an eye on your insights to see how your hashtag reach is going, if you see a significant drop then you could do it sooner. - C
Hello, thank you so much for sharing all of your tips and tricks. I have been using your engagement strategy and it's really working. I have been trying this hashtag tip but unfortunately I haven't been seeing the results I had hoped for. Usually I would get around 600-1500 impressions from hashtags but on the post I did using this method I have received only 14. What do you think I did wrong? Thank you.
Hi Maria, thanks for the kind words. That could just mean the hashtags you chose aren't working for your content. Best bet would be to make sure you create unique hashtag banks for each content category, try them for a few weeks and if you're not seeing results, switch them up and create a whole new bank. - C
Love watching you videos, it’s less hype and more useful tips. I’m getting 91% on average with my hashtags, I know they are working and I get most of my traffic from hashtags. Trying to figure out how to turn all these eyes into followers or sales...any tips?
Thank you, Ranitha! That's a great percentage you're getting on your hashtags, well done. So the next step would be to fine tune your content to ensure you're giving all those new eyes a clear CTA ("click the link in my bio to..." - join my mailing list, download my guide, buy my book etc) on every post, keep them engaged with Stories (with "swipe up" or "link in bio" CTAs) daily, and keep testing different types of content to see what kinds resonate with your audience best. It could be an IGTV strategy with helpful tips or hints for your industry/product, different types of images, carousels etc. Keep testing, and good luck! - C
Can you? Yes, absolutely. Should you? No, not at all. It looks clunky and messy, it's a turn off for viewers. We'd suggest to just use any branded hashtags in the caption and keep the rest for the first comment. - C
Thanks for the great content. I took your advice and added 30 hashtags to three of my posts today. I then posted a fourth image later in the day, again with 30 hashtags. With the fourth image post, I noticed my image was not showing up when I checked the hashtags. It appears I have been "shadow blocked" by Instagram. I was wondering if you had any insight regarding this. Was it because I went back and quickly added the hashtags to three posts? Or was it the amount of hashtags (30) I was using for each post? Thanks!
Thank you for the kind words. That's a very strange thing. Shadowbanning is a very vague subject as far as the official word from Instagram. If you posted hashtags on 3 posts right before doing the 4th, that could potentially explain it as it feels like an action block. The volume of hashtags wouldn't affect the shadowbanning at all, we use 30 hashtags every single day for every post for ourselves and all our clients with no negative effects. Try to post them slower and more spread out and it should help. - C
Hey, I'm just having a prblm with #..as when you are able to select one #, you're able to swipe to other related #, but that feature isn't available now on my phone and I've even tried the same through Laptop. Can you please help me how to find the related # as you're able to swipe. Thanks & awaiting for your reply
Hi Amreen, you're referring to the Related Hashtags feature. Instagram removed this a few years back. The only solution we found is the Hashtag Expert app, which you can hear about here: ua-cam.com/video/NLpDv7iwFgs/v-deo.html
My husband and I use this strategy on our business account and it was working great until a week ago. When looking at our insights the hashtags on our latest posts have reached 13, 23, 58, and 68 people. It doesn't make sense to us. I've checked to make sure we are using relevant tags (and ones that aren't banned.) I also know we are not shadow banned bc I do find our posts if I search the hashtag. Any suggestions?
Hi Briana, that's certainly odd, but it can happen from time to time. You may need to create a fresh, new hashtag bank with hashtags you haven't used in the past. Typically we'd suggest to do that every few months to keep the posts fresh and ensure you're reaching as many people as possible. Hopefully that will help boost you back up again. - C
Hi Emily, Instagram removed this section sometime this year (long after we posted the video). It's such a shame, it was so helpful. Hopefully they bring it back! - C
How are you able to see the other related hashtags like that under the hashtag you searched for? I can only see it as a list view. I hope that makes sense.
Oddly recently I'm finding my posts with fewer hashtags are getting similar if not better engagement. 10 hashtags performing about the same as 28. Is there a possible reason for this?
Interesting. It could be a coincidence, but the only thought I have is that you're using one or two specific hashtags in the batch of 10 that are performing exceptionally well. There's no reason that 10 hashtags would over-perform against 28 hashtags logically, but run with whatever is working for you. - C
Hey Thye, we wouldn’t recommend using the same hashtags on every post as it could be flagged as spammy activity, there will be some core hashtags that carry across to every post, but they shouldn’t be exactly the same as each post will have differences that require niche hashtags to be hyper relevant.
@@Highseasonco mmmm that's really odd then. I have gained 5k followers in 4 months, 50-70 followers per day with 300 posts and used the same set of hashtags under those 300 posts with an average reach of 400 via hashtags every single post. Any explanation for that tho?🤔
Thye Kuiper then you have nothing to worry about, sounds like you’re killing it! The only reason we don’t recommend it is to avoid giving any advice that could hurt someone, as we’ve read / heard from other SMMs about negative experiences.
@@Highseasonco oh well...this situation was 2 months ago😂😅😭 now I only get an average of 20-30 per post. So that the situation have changed you guys suggest what you've first said? Cuz i'm stuck at 5k now.
@@Highseasonco I have the same issue when i used to use same hashtag for like 8 or 9months and since then my reach is dropped by half, is there anyway that i could reverse it? Just hopefully IG didn't misread that its a spam activity as recently i have been adding much more values in my posts and would love more people to benefit from ,thanks !
Hi! That's not necessarily true. The idea is to use unique batches of hashtags for each post based on the topic. So you can use the same batch of hashtags on all posts about one topic, but switch up a few to customize it. Hope that helps - C
I have been doing hashtag research and creating multiple groups with the techniques in the video but I’m STILL getting 0 reach. Any tips?! I try to use smaller hashtags as well. What am I doing wrong?!
Hi Jas, that's really odd. Are you actually getting zero reach, like nothing at all? That's extremely strange, it sounds like something is wrong with your account. Because there'd be organic reach as well, and if that's missing then there's likely more to it. Definitely stick with exclusively niche (less than 100k uses) hashtags to be safe, though. You'll have a much better chance of landing some reach with that. - C
@@Highseasonco UPDATE. Thank you for reaching out! I get very little reach.. my highest number from hashtag reach is 5. I’m not shadow banned because I’ve seen my post in the recents before. I make sure that my hashtags are in the number groups and that they aren’t banned. I don’t use the same hashtags and I have a brand new Instagram. I’ve been trying to get this hashtag thing down for months but no luck so far.
Hi!! Loving your tips and channel :) Would you recommend using a hashtags specific for IG TV videos? I create fashion/lifestyle content for petite women on IG/YT 😊😊
Hey! Thank you so much for the kinds words! :) We would definitely recommend using all 30 hashtags when posting to IGTV, and sharing the post in-feed. There are some specific IGTV hashtags you can capitalize on as well e.g. #igtvcommunity #igtv #igtvchannel which aren't too big yet so give you a great opportunity to rank.
@@christinetobiasz perfect! You're so welcome. :) Thanks for watching and if you ever would like us to answer a question in an upcoming Q&A video don't be shy to ask!
has anything changed since then? when i open a hashtag no suggested hashtags are displayed. The rest of it is the same as in video shown, but no hashtags
Hashtag research is almost impossible with how Instagram has blocked hashtags in the USA. I can't see related hashtags. Is there any way to get past this? And since only top posts are visible, if I click into someone's post to try to see what tags they used, they're often buried in the comments. Thanks for any advice
Hi Sami, yeah that change has been incredibly frustrating and has truly made this a more difficult talk. The only way we've found to do it is just to search for hashtags in the search bar, and look at the associated ones there. It's not as robust as the related hashtags section they used to have, but it seems to do the trick. - C
@@Highseasonco Thank you so much for the quick reply. I also managed to limp along by looking through accounts similar to my brand. Too bad there's not another way around it!
So how do I know which hashtag is giving me the newcomers to my profile? I've looked at my analytics and it doesn't breakdown exactly which hashtag does better
Instagram unfortunately removed that feature, so there's no way that we're currently aware of to find out which hashtags are driving traffic. Shame. - C
@@Highseasonco That's a shame 😩 It would make it so much easier to adapt my IG to my followers. Hopefully they'll bring it back! I've used some strategies that you guys have suggested, and so far i don't have thousands of followers yet, but it seems to be working!! All in good time I guess!!

Thanks Allie! So you can use hashtags as normal, the Recent Posts is only removed due to the election stuff so it'll be back soon. Hashtags still work as always, you can still be found via hashtags so don't change anything, just keep using them. - CC

Im just curious about suggested hashtags
When I search one in my niche, its not showing the suggested hashtags as shown on your example in the video.
Great job! 🌟

High Season Co. 😎😎
@@Highseasonco figured I'd update this comment, it's definitely working. Already noticing my engagement numbers going up!

Thank you so much for all your smart advices 🥰
My problem is : as I click on a hashtag, I don’t get the relevant hashtags has mentioned in your video
Shall I activate something ? It doesn’t work either in my shop and creator account ☹️ (I live in France)
Hey there, Instagram actually removed that feature. Literally in 5 minutes we're filming a brand new video with a way around that! Stay tuned - C
does it make sense to go back into your current Instagram gallery and adjust the hashtags?
You can, but I wouldn't go too far back as timeliness is accounted for in the algorithm, so it wouldn't push it back into the feed but it may help it rank under the hashtags. - C
Thank you so much!
You're so welcome!
It's # time!
Ayyy let's go! - C
can you add hashtags through editing your older posts or does that have no effect
Would you use this same strategy for TikTok?
I've noticed the related hashtag feature may have been disabled, do you have any other good methods of finding relevant hashtags?
It has, it's incredibly frustrating as that was by far the best way to find new hashtags. Currently, the closest workaround we've found is when you're searching for hashtags, there are similar alternatives in the search results. It's not as good as the related hashtags but it's still helpful. - C
Hey guys great content it changed my perspective towards hastag and I had a is there any order to place hashtags from high to low or vice versa or can it be placed randomly do reply it would be of much help
You're welcome! And no, there's no particular order for your hashtags, you can add them in however you like. - C
How often do you guys recommend that we change our hashtags? Like every 3 months or so?
Great question - typically quarterly is a great timeframe. Keep an eye on your insights to see how your hashtag reach is going, if you see a significant drop then you could do it sooner. - C
have you heard of two hashtags exactly the same having two different hits on instagram?
Hey! Like having a different number of uses when you search for it?
Can I still add the hashtags in the caption but spread it out by using ..... space in between my message and the hashtags?

Nuff respect - C

@@Highseasonco oh! Thanks for the reply. Thought I was being dim 😅
How are you able to see the other related hashtags like that under the hashtag you searched for? I can only see it as a list view. I hope that makes sense.
Hey Briana, it looks like that feature has been removed since we did this video. Hopefully it's only temporary! - C
High Season Co. me again from IG, @brianachristayia I asked on both platforms so thanks for answering this again ! 💕
Does it matter if you use the same set of hashtags for every post?
Just hopefully IG didn't misread that its a spam activity as recently i have been adding much more values in my posts and would love more people to benefit from ,thanks !
i have a question and i hope High Season Co will see this, but is it true that writing the same group of hashtags every post will not work?
Hi! That's not necessarily true. The idea is to use unique batches of hashtags for each post based on the topic. So you can use the same batch of hashtags on all posts about one topic, but switch up a few to customize it. Hope that helps - C
High Season Co. ow ok thank you so much 😊
I have been doing hashtag research and creating multiple groups with the techniques in the video but I’m STILL getting 0 reach.
When I look at large hashtags I do not see any related hashtags at the top, did Instagram change this? I only see follow, top and recent.

Correct, over the summer we noticed they removed the suggested hashtag section, which is a genuine shame. Hopefully they bring it back! - C
